Konami have today unveiled a whole host of additional licenses and genuine stadiums that will feature in the upcoming Pro Evo title.

PES 2009, as well as featuring the official Champions League license as well as Liverpool and Manchester United, will now feature the following full licenses in their entirety including kits, players and affiliated elements:

  • The Dutch Eredivisie
  • French Ligue 1
  • Likewise, key clubs such as FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, FC Porto, Liverpool and Manchester United, will also be resplendent in their official livery.
  • Other additions include the likes of Zenit St. Petersbourg and Brondby IF
  • Konami has also added a number of new national sides to PES 2009, with Northern Ireland amongst those added to the International rosters of respected teams like Netherlands, England and Italy.
The new genuine recreated stadiums in the title are as follows:
  • Stade de France
  • Stadio Olimpico di Torino
  • The new Wembley Stadium included for the first time
More decent associations and licenses can't be bad. Let's hope there are a few more announcements like this over the coming weeks before it's October 16th European release.

This is really getting on my nerves now. They have sold so copies of the series and they wont spend a bit extra of money they have on completing the game's licenses and expect people to keep accepting it. I might actually get fifa instead this year

last year it was spurs & newcastle, how do they choose which clubs will go in?

Halimbo, i think its due to an agreemenmt between the FA and EA.

@ #7's comment; Halimbo2005 - please refrain from using abusive language espeically when slandering other users.

Respect what other people have to say.

In the PES situation yes, Konami could fork out to pay the licenses but they won't. EA pay FIFA the privilege to have official team names etc, Konami choose to only pay out for the top teams in each league. Konami also owe MB360 XL 1k but haven't coughed up there either so comment #1 in every sense is right by saying Konami are tight.

Good to see Northern Ireland getting licensed, although I'll most likely get FIFA 09, I thought the demo was great

Demo for FIFA was good, definitely get both this time out, both have their qualities... PES definitely plays the better game of football though. Just feels right.

Konami really need to bite the bullet and sort this though. Seriously, the biggest league in the world and we are still playing as London Reds? Please.

@ #7

Have a bit of decorum son. You come across as a troll. No need for hatin'.

Still intend on purchasing Pro over FIFA, plays much better, hopefully the lag will be sorted out for online!

Does anyone know whether Celtic (& Rangers) will be licensed again or are they now FIFA exclusive? I was delighted with getting to play as my own team for '08.

@ #7:
As much as you may think that about someone you gotta at least be respectful about their comments, if you disagree then say so, but don't slander the guy (or girl, don't want to seem to be sexist!)

Good to see PES (which is superior to Fifa) is getting some good exclusives. Shame they can't get Chelsea though. :(
