Nailing Jelly to kittens is my new favourite saying. I will be sprinkling it liberally in my conversations this week.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 07:04 AM
Only other DMA game I can remember (that isn't a GTA one -though I couldn't say if they did GTA 2 or GTA London) was Body Harvest on the N64.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 07:12 AM

@2. They did Lemmings as well. Had a lot of great times with that game as a kid.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 07:17 AM
Great vid! What about GTA London though? Would these titles ever get an XBLA release, I wonder? Pure nostalgia kick right there...Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 07:19 AM
I wish Lemmings was as popular as GTA, it's much more enjoyable (to me).Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 07:27 AM
GTA London was class. C'mon though, we all know that this game will get 100!Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 07:32 AM
It is a very disturbing prospect that in some alternate universe there is no GTA.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 07:36 AM
How can you review the game when the online part doesn't go live for another 2 weeks?? I still have this game on my shelf - wonder if it's worth anything hahaMonday, September 16, 2013 @ 07:41 AM
Good watch. :)Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 07:43 AM
Well #10 if you believe in alternate dimensions I have a more disturbing thought There's a dimension where Jack Thompson likes and promotes GTA.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 07:55 AM
#8 We have a bar here in Dundee that has Lemmings drawings all over the place, I was filled with glee when i saw it.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 08:04 AM
@ #13 Now that would be something I'd love to see.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 08:29 AM
I'm so glad they didn't kill it. Even the original was great fun. I remember buying it on PS1 and gameboy, I was like 5-6 at the time and when my parents found out they took it back and swapped it for some boring racing game. Ahh the memories.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 08:35 AM
@8, If you have a Vita a new Lemmings game is coming out on that soonish. From what little has been shown it looks like it has potential.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 08:35 AM
Very good video Weird played GTA on the PS1 now all these years later will be playing it on the PS4!Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 08:56 AM
This makes me want to go back and play GTA on the PS1. But I don't want to ruin any good memories. I made that mistake with Vice City and San Andreas thanks to steam.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 09:05 AM
Wow this game got a 100 from this site and that's without multiplayer. AwesomeMonday, September 16, 2013 @ 09:31 AM
How does 460/500=100%??? Maths not your strong suit eh x360a!Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 09:40 AM
@21 because we all know (and you should too) that the achievement score does not count for the final scoreMonday, September 16, 2013 @ 10:01 AM
@2 Bodyharvest was amazingMonday, September 16, 2013 @ 10:27 AM
@23 agreed, one of my favorites on the n64Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 10:32 AM
GTA Vice City is the best in the Franchise. Hope V usurps it.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 10:36 AM
Like I said before in a previous GTA Post I made, it would be AMAZING if Rockstar put the original playable GTA in the GTA 5, and you would play it kinda like how in GTA IV you go to a bar or pool hall and are able to play Quebed. I can honestly say if they did do something like that, I would play it so much because the original GTA is by far a amazing classic. And forever change video games from that day forward since its release.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 10:49 AM
@25 Vice City has the most style and substance, but it was pretty much GTA III with a new skin. I think San Andreas is the series' high point (up until tomorrow lol); it struck a perfect balance between new mechanics, gameplay variety, great story, massive world, and fun missions. @26 I disagree, I played both at the time and enjoyed them but saw nothing particularly revolutionary. GTA III is the one that changed video games forever. It was an absolute revolution and wake-up call for the gaming industry.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 11:18 AM
I loved and played both GTA and GTA 2 to death back on my PC. Kinda lost interest with GTA 3 and then picked up GTA IV and loved it all over again. I hope my copy of GTA V is already on the way to be delivered tomorrow=)Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 11:39 AM
Superb video. So many memories.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 12:52 PM
i remember having the very first GTA for PCMonday, September 16, 2013 @ 02:08 PM
Honestly I was not fussed on the original. The only one I ever got into was San Andreas and that took a few attempts. Even so I am quite excited for the new one. Hope it lives upto my expectationsMonday, September 16, 2013 @ 03:32 PM
That has to be the funniest analogy I have heard in a while. I remember GTA coming out, and I was 18. Even at that age my parents were horrified I was playing a game like that haha. First violent game I had played and soon after Mortal Kombat. But it never made me violent. Had so much good fun with them, and would live to go back and play them again.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 04:05 PM
Watching this REALLY makes me want to play the first one again! Petition to get it brought to arcade! COME ON! It would sell loads So many memories.... That tune, that lorry bomb LOL. I played GTA & GTA2 to DEATH! :DMonday, September 16, 2013 @ 04:38 PM
I thought Rockstar made GTA?Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 04:43 PM
@34 It was DMA to begin with until they went to Rockstar North. Even said so in the video.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 04:56 PM
A group of Kittens is called a Shitten... A Shitten of Kittens.Monday, September 16, 2013 @ 05:10 PM

If you're as old as us lot, then you'll probably remember 1997's original Grand Theft Auto developed by Scottish outfit DMA Design. It started life as a straightforward cops and robbers game before growing into the crime spree you know and love today. With GTA V on the horizon (one day away), a revealing making of video lends an insight into how the first game almost never came to fruition.
Featuring interviews with the key players behind Grand Theft Auto, the video is the perfect way to kill almost eight minutes, and discover the difficulty DMA experienced behind the scenes, trying to get GTA finished and out of the door. It was almost killed several times, which means we'd have never have had GTA were it not for the Scottish dev.
Check out the Grand Theft Auto making of video below, courtesy of The Guardian, then keep your eyes peeled for our spoiler-free Grand Theft Auto V verdict right here, at 3pm BST on the dot.
