FIFA 09 Demo Now Available

FIFA 09 Demo Now Available
Written Thursday, September 11, 2008 by Dan Webb

As expected, you can now find the demo for EA's latest football title on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

The demo allows players to play an exhibition using one of 6 teams; Chelsea, AC Milan, Schalke 04, Olympique de Marseille, Real Madrid or Toronto FC (MLS). In addition players can fiddle with the custom tactics or even practice in the Arena so there is plenty to do.

Major Nelson reports that the FIFA demo is available for all regions as it gets football fans ready for its October 3rd/14th release date.

Content: FIFA 09 Demo
Price: Free
Availability: All Xbox LIVE regions
Dash Text: [ESRB: RP (Rating Pending)] Download the demo for FIFA 09 and play professional football with more responsive first-time shooting, passing, one-touches plus faster and more controlled dribbling and improved trapping. Plus try new Custom Team Tactics and make your favourite team play the way you want them to as if you are the first team coach. In-stores October 3, 2008 in Europe and Oct 14 in North America and Asia; visit fifa09.ea.com for more info.

Downloaded it first thing this morning and its very impressive. They have took Euro 2008 and built upon it. I Think EA might run away with it this year unless Konami drastically improve from last years version of PES.

Seems pretty good. But with the anouncement of PES having real names now, it might be worth waiting to try out both before I make my decision

It plays very well with it's new animation enhancements - and unless PES have created a brand new engine and started from the ground up, FIFA will run away with it this year...again.

Note to Konami regarding PES2008: You can't polish a turd!

ive got to be honest and say i dl it and thought it was crap tbh. I used to like the old fifas bk in the early 00's but theyre trying to be pes and they will never get that the way pes play is far superior its just a shame the demo hasnt came out today like it was mentioned to

It had some weird ball movement and the players were bit stiff... Also need a little getting used to after playing PES always, this is better than Pro evo08 atleast, unlike FIFA08
Other than little getting used to i think it can be great game but need to try pes09 first before i can decide

i dont like it, look at the swerve, its horribly unrealistic.
(goto area, press any direction on dpad outside the penatly box, use right stick to serve ball while charging/taking shot)

I want this game so bad :( It's amazin' I'm glad theyve brougt the ref and linesman in, but the inclusion is: EA Sports - It's in the game! There's only one thing though, whats up with the curling? It's so hard to get to grips with.

I enjoyed the demo, not to different to the impressive Euro 2008.

I'll have to wait until I play PES to see which one I'll buy - Unless FIFA is region free!!

I love it, the little extra touches like the dramatic falling over when you do a bad tackle has caused me loads of entertaining red cards already, the players appealing for offside or signalling for a ball. there are a few things that upset me though, robinho is still with real on there, surely its not difficult for them to change that, the skills havent changed at all(LT). The commentating isnt on there because the extra data would add massive amounts to the download size so i dont mind waiting for that. It had better be region free, i dont get EA with that balls idea at the minute. ive just been trying out the swerve, it doesnt seem to do much to be honest, its the new type of ball they are a bit penny floaterish.

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
