Midnight Club LA Slips Again

Midnight Club LA Slips Again
Written Friday, September 05, 2008 by Dan Webb

In a week where we saw Dead Space get brought forward two weeks, we saw Midnight Club LA go the other way.

After the original slip in release date, the title was set for an October 7th/10th release across the globe but after a recent Take Two investor conference call, that has slipped back even further.

The new intended release date for the title is now October 21st for North America and 24th for Europe. The reason for the delay according to financial officer Lainie Goldstein was to move the release to "a more favorable market window."

More favourable? Does it really matter when you release it in October, everywhere you turn you hit a brick wall of decent titles and moving it to the 21st/24th means that it will have to contend with Dead Space in Europe and Fable 2 worldwide.

For an up-to-date, indepth look at upcoming release dates, go here.

i think it doesn't really matter when people will release the games with not as much hype as the rest, because gamers will have priorities in games they want, and if they're on a limited budget they will only want the games they really want and therefore leave potentially good games left in the dark.

Chris is right. With so many good titles coming out over the next couple of months, gamers are gonna work out exactly what they want to spend their money on, and how much they're going to need. If Midnight Club doesn't fit in there and they haven't got alot of extra, they won't buy it.
But, they do have a fanbase who will stay loyal. Midnight Club is going to do alot better than lots of other games coming out this side of christmas that aren't very well known.

im not really too concerned with this slip, as said above, in these next few months dominated with high profile titles i dont think i will have money to spare on a racer.

My other problem is that it runs off the same engine as GTA4, lets hope the vehicles handle better.

I was hoping to play this before I get into Fable 2. I enjoy the Midnight Club series but this will have to wait for me.

they are so stupid. releasing this game at the same timeframe with fable2, fallout 3 and saints row 2 is stupid!
i could need a game before those blockbusters, but with this releasedate i`m not sure i will buy midnight club...

Midnight Club might have to wait until Xmas for me. I wanted to get it a few weeks before Fallout 3, but not now. I will have to just wait until one of the holiday blockbusters come out.

With all the big titles dropping this fall it will be a challenge to bring any game to market either before or after large releases. The best you could hope for with a later release date is the possibility of a few less bugs or atleast the game being distributed properly and on time

With all the big titles, this is one of the big titles as far as im concerned. This racer will set the bar for future titles, NFS undercover included.

midnight club games are by far my favorite race games. If you havent ever played one before it is NOTHING like the car handleing in gta. They are fast paced crazy ass races. This is one of my must haves sucks it got pushed back.

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
