The id Software classic Wolfenstein 3D has been re-released on XBLA.

First published on current-gen digital distribution platforms by Activision in 2009, the rights to the seminal shooter have since changed hands to Elder Scrolls publisher, Bethesda.

Indeed, Bethesda currently has a new entry to the series in the works; MachineGames' Wolfenstein: The New Order. So consider this re-issue as an attempt to whet your appetite before the main even later this year.

For everything we’ve got on Wolfenstein: The New Order click through here. Wolfenstein 3D, meanwhile, costs 400 MSP and is available now.

  • Will probably get this in preparation of the new order. great game! play this later after I get my full of fuse
  • Looks like Call of Duty. Probably will pass on it.
  • @#2 wrong way my friend its call of duty that looks like this game
  • Is this a rerelease as in I've already bought it and can download it again, or another 400mp and achievements?
  • @4 read the text above and you can see its a just a re-issue
  • Sweet! I have been want this re issued for quite some time. Gonna download it as soon as possible. So similar to Doom, but unique at the same time. My 2 favourite shooters.
  • Is there online multiplayer maybe we can get a mp game
  • With the release of the new one I thought they might have this as a special unlock when you finish the game like they did with Return to castle wolfenstein on the xbox
  • The Grandfather of FPS, Wolfenstein 3d rock's, I'm baffled to why they would take it down in the first place, they sneakly did the same thing to Doom 1 for a while.
  • @2 You know Call of Duty came out AFTER this, right? Like, 11 years after? @4 It's a re-issue. It was de-listed earlier due to a licensing issue, kinda like what happened with Doom 1. Now it's back on the marketplace for the same low price of $5.
  • Why would anyone get this on XBLA instead of PC, when we all know now that current XBLA games won't work on One. It's not like this game needs a powerful PC to run it.
  • #2 LOLOL
  • @2... oh good god you have to be a troll, there's no way that could be serious... 'One of the first, FPS games looks like call of duty, nyuk nyuk' On topic, I didn't even know this was taken down, I still have it on my hard-drive, though always been more of a doom person myself, love that game series ^-^
  • Wolf3D is a badass fps, but the levels are sometimes confusing.
  • Haven't played this in years. Will have to pick it up.
  • I wish they would put out the original one before 3d
  • Warning, if you had Wolf3D before, you'll have to hunt through your download history to re-download. The new version doesn't recognize old owners and wants them to shell out the $5 again.
  • People like #2 are the reason Xbox Live feels like a daycare center... or a kindergarten classroom... or a church.
  • @18 Thats because a FPS game rose above the mediocracy that was Halo and took the reigns as the premiere FPS game... CoD And the M$/xbox fanboys couldn't stand their beloved franchise get its ass kicked.
  • @18 What kind of church are you talking about? Never in my life have i ever heard people curse as much as they do on XBL.
  • I'm pretty damn positive #2 was joking. But I mean, okay internet.
  • LOL at all the moron's who don't get that #2 was joking! I guess the joke's now on you!
  • @19 lol Halo being mediocre. I guess you're as much of a troll as #2 is. Just another typical day of the internet...
  • the original halo was as much a game changer as Wolf3D was a game starter, the others since halo 2 are Meh at best
