  • Can't wait for NHL 14 on the Xbox One!...oh wait...EA Sports forgot
  • Too much media crap. I want GAMES and GAMERSCORE EXPLANATIONS!
  • So much news to digest. It's killing me! XD
  • Requires Kinect to function. Goodbye Xbox.
  • Also wondering how much of these features will be available outside of America. Fantasy teams is doubtful for sure
  • I feel sorry for the people that was expecting a load of game reveals Lol, E3 is a couple of weeks away..
  • Still more excited for GTA V than all of this combined.
  • After this, I'm leaving Xbox.
  • @7 and GTA V isnt going to be next-gen
  • I don't understand people bashing this for barely showing games, they made it clear before it started they were saving all that for E3. Personally I can't wait for the live action Halo series and making use of that sweet dash. Love using snap on Win8 so it's going to be nice doing the same on Xbox.
  • The only thing that looks remotely interesting is Quantum Leap. Oh and did I mention, that it is one ugly ass machine.
  • @6 Could not have said it better. So tired of all the crap people are saying about optional features that actually sound really cool. I will never understand why people complain about optional things that effect them in no way. If you are someone who buys the Xbox One just for games that is fine, the extra apps do not effect the game front at all. They still have plenty of developers working on games and they have said many times that Xbox is made by gamers for gamers. The extra apps will maybe draw in some people who rarely game but want the other optional features and are somewhat interested in games. I think they are going in the right direction no doubt.
  • http://kotaku.com/you-will-be-able-to-trade-xbox-one-games-online-micros-509140825 Supposedly how the used games will be handled but it is Kotaku so take it with a grain of salt....
  • Why do won't they just f***in' make there own satellite company or some crap and leave the gaming console a gaming console...but no, It's going to be the best "ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM"
  • Fuck this shit and fuck Microsoft.
  • Apologises for the double post but they are going to be releasing 15 exclusive titles, 8 of which being new IPs in the first year. Thats pretty loaded on the game front front, not including multi platform titles. I think we're pretty covered so moaning about it seems odd to me considering we're likely to see some awesome stuff coming out of E3 in a couple of weeks.
  • there'll be more games at E3.
  • I won't be getting an Xbox One until they make them backwards-compatible. Until then, this new system seems pointless.
  • @12 if xbox was made by gamers FOR gamers, then xbox one would be backwards compatible and it wouldnt cost a fee to play used games. Some of the best games i ever played were borrowed from friends, but its now impossible to just borrow a friends game free of charge... on a side note, the controller is EXTREMELY ugly
  • Why don't they just put a bill/coin acceptor on the side while they are at it?
  • Ugly console. Ugly controller. Fees for used games. And GAMING has become a feature. Good job, MS!
  • If Kinect is indeed required, that is just another reason to move onto the PS4. And then there might be another fee for used games? I guess we know why EA wont't use online passes anymore. Microsoft will do it for them. The PS4 is looking better and better. Microsoft is digging their own grave.
  • So many people whining over nothing
  • and apparently from the briefing, "forza" will now have a "T" in it making it "fortza"
  • @23 Sony hasnt comment on if this will be their approach to used games as well
  • Been playing Xbox since switching from Sony from 2002, its been a great ride with great games, sadly that ride has come to an end and ill be jump back across to Sony and their PS4, these features and restrictions are just way too much BS and a big middle finger to gamers. I will be keeping my Xbox 360 and will continue to buy games for that until they stop supporting it, i will just buy PS4 exclusives. Utterly disgusting.............
  • hello!!! it's year 2014 and this is my VHS recorder
  • I am pretty excited, what no backwards compatibility umm well guess that 360 sitting beside this system will be fine lol I kinda want a new system to play new games with new graphics etc I don't watch TV and Skype does not interest me being friendless ;)But will defiantly buy this for games, come on Dragon Age III, The Witcher 3 and hopefully Dark Souls 2. I love the look of the system, and the controllers look similar to what I use to from the 360 so that's awesome.
  • @2 Amen to that! :D
  • Zavvi may have let slip the price through their pre-order and it is pretty hefty http://www.dansmediameltdown.com/2013/05/next-gen-xbox-reveal-here-with-live.html
  • I think everyone who's complaining about Kinect needs to pipe the fuck down. It comes with Kinect, what's another wire? It also requires electricity to work and comes with a power lead
  • @25 Forza is pronounced Fortza.
  • That's it; I'm jumping ship to PS4.
  • Man i came here to see people defending this console. I'm pleasantly surprised. ^^
  • This thing looks like a pile of shit and I am glad you see it. At lest there are some real gamers left
  • Here is the whole conference in less than one minute enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r288lOPRAJQ&feature=youtu.be
  • lol the whole event was a complete fucking joke FUCK KINECT 2 AND FUCK CALL OF DUTY GHOSTS all i wanted was a games console i could fucking play GAMES on with a game PAD and not have all these shit apps the only hope now is if they pull out some AMAZING exclusives at e3 other than halo
  • Watch Angry Joe on youtube he tells it how it is EPIC FAIL. keeping my 360 and getting a PS4 since thats made for GAMERS!!
  • Goodbye Xbox it has been fun, hello Playstation my old friend
  • Anyone checked or asked how loud its fans are..
  • Be sure not to miss the PS4 roundup http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=0rJDn0jRnUQ
  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ekOtn7L1N0
  • GUYS. Please stop saying you just want to play games. You CAN just play games on the new Xbox! I really don't see the fucking problem with next gen, No one is forcing you to use the apps, i'm pretty sure PlayStation will have similar things... Im also pretty sure you don't NEED Kinect to use the Xbox. Use the fucking controller...
  • I really hope GTA:V was designed with Xbox One in mind. I can't believe this console is coming out this winter. If I buy GTA for the 360 that might just be enough to keep me busy for a year and I won't feel the need for a new console. If Microsoft was smart they should have got rock star on board.
  • Rest in peace, Xbox. I wonder if even the writer for this site are excited about this 'console'... xx
  • writers**
  • @44 They ALREADY confirmed that Kinect is required. They answered this question in their Q&A thread. And the problem here, is they're just not focusing on games. They're trying to introduce all these gimmicks that CAN potentially ruin the system. What if they up the price of XBL gold simply because of all the apps that I won't ever use? I'm forced to pay twice the amount as before because they offer things that I cannot refuse? And then they confirmed that the Xbox must connect to the internet at least once a day to work. And then the fiasco with the used games. God. They really are digging their own grave here. Microsoft themselves are just pushing me away. As if they WANT me to buy a PS4 instead. At least I know Sony are SERIOUS about games and caring about their developers AND gamers.
  • @44 They just wanna bitch, people don't like change at first.
  • @44 every xbox one will ship with kinect and that will up the price therefore im paying extra for a FUCKING SHIT CAMERA that i dont even want and i couldnd even use it if wanted as my room is just to small
  • I'll wait for the Halo 5 console in 2015 or so.
  • WOW These are some dumbass comments. I hope most of these people really do switch to Sony just to lessen the amount of whiny idiots in the community. Like #10 said, Microsoft made it clear they wouldn't be showing a lot of game content until E3! The new xbox is amazing and many people appreciate Microsoft making a machine for all entertainment needs and not just gaming. The more things it does the better.. its not like they are abandoning gaming.
  • While I've enjoyed my time with my Xbox, there is virtually no reason to own a console for this next gen with the PC master race an all that. Consoles have stopped being about games and more about pleasing everyone all at once, which never works.
  • For all of those defending Kinect - without it, the Xbox One would be cheaper to buy. For those defending the entertainment functions that everybody has many other devices that already do the same things and more - without them, the Xbox One would be cheaper to buy. I don't want to pay an extra $200 for stuff I don't want, so if I do buy it, I'll just wait until it's $200 cheaper - although borrowing games from friends is going to be a pain, so I may end up getting a PS4 when that goes down enough in price. If worse comes to worse, I'll just stick with my Wii U and only play interesting exclusives at friends houses (assuming any of them think getting an Xbox One or PS4 is worth it).
  • @52 - all those needless things cost a lot of money. It's like buying a 100 movies for $2000 and only wanting 10 of them.
  • I love the way both the console and the controller look. Very excited for more information.
  • until i get more info on this like the price then i'm not doing anything. just going to wait, and see (though i'm leaning toward the PS4 side).
  • @56 That is true and I do see where you are coming from. If I used my console solely for gaming I would be annoyed too I suppose. It's impossible to please everyone but this has been Microsoft's direction for some time now. It would be interesting to see an alternate cheaper bundle and a basic gold subscription that comes with just the console and online gaming, without the Kinect and media apps. @54 sigh.. please die.
  • Definitely getting PS4 now. The only thing I want is the controller for PC. Too bad I'll miss Halo 5 and 6.
  • As one of the bigger fans of the 360, I truly cannot believe anyone with eyes, ears and more than 12 brain cells is sticking up for MS and this shitfest they call the Xbox One. AngryJoe summed it up perfectly this evening. Microsoft had an excellent chance and they fucking blew it.. big style. No amount of exclusives is going to save it either. Really, more Halo and Gears of War. How fucking exciting, Excuse me while I put a plastic sheet underneath myself...
  • TV feature will launch as US only! Source: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/05/21/xbox-one-live-tv-only-available-in-the-us-at-launch So a bunch of that conference was aimed at just the US until...eventually
  • To all the people saying kinect being forced on us as a bad thing obviously haven't seen that the ps4 is forcing their new camera feature along with a craptastic controller that has touch and motion built in
  • Watch the PS4 be on better LOL
  • No*
  • I thought Kinect was going to be built in, finding room for that pointless block of hardware is going to be annoying, not to mention I am uneasy about having a camera watching me 27/7 while it's connected to the internet...call me paranoid but I don't like it.
  • *24/7
  • 1,000 people whine. 10,000,000,000 buy. Profit.
  • I was expecting shock and awe, only to be left with aww man. :-(
  • I like Xbox One's controller but not Kinect and I don't like Xbox One console look. It is weird console look and it is like drawer box out of drawer hehehehehe funny. I look forward to play Xbox One and preorder it as well PS4. I don't care if Kinect must be inside Xbox One console but as long as I don't using it. Don't matter really. I am happy gamertag, avatar and gamerscore progress carry over which is relieved for everyone, xbox one fans and myself. :) Cannot wait for more Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, PS3 and PS4 games on way. Great year for gaming to have load load load load games to play with. Money going hate many gamers this year and next year. Gaming is beautiful!!! Money is just out as games is best. :):)
  • This is all very exiting!
  • Haters. Haters, haters, haters, haters..... Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Enjoy your ps4. I think I'll get both at launch. I'm excited for both.
  • cannot wait. day one buy for me. XBOX ONE IS GOING TO RULE
  • @73 Are you people not getting this?! You have to pay MORE MONEY to play a used game. You mare forced to install every game you buy to your 500GB hard drive which will fill quick You still have to pay $60 a year for gold while Sony is delivering better live FOR FREE What does the Xbox have over PS4? Television Functionality and Kinect. awesome Call me a hater that's exactly what I am because it deserves it. Angry Joe summed it up perfectly.
  • There's way too many flaws and gimmicks. Forced Kinect, near-always online, a fee for used games, no backwards compatibility..it's a mess. I'll stick with the 3DS for now.
  • I can understand that Xbox 360 games are not compatible, but why not arcade games. I have over 300 arcade games that I was hoping would transfer over to the new system. As a loyal customer to Microsoft for more than 10 years, I just feel let down. I have spent thousands of dollars on retail, arcade games, accessories and Xbox Live Gold subscriptions. Look at my gamer tag: Beastly504 and compare games (no rentals). Hey Microsoft send me a check, I want my money back! It doesn't pay to be a loyal customer. :-(
  • The UK Price point is £399.99 for pre-order, (the hut.com & shopto.com) the 360 launched (HD aka the most expensive 20GB model) at £279.99... that's a BIG jump in relative price. Not sure about US prices, but a straight conversion is about $606 US; BUT the UK's electronics prices are normally higher than the US prices for the same items... Still way too pricey for this little black duck for the forseeable future...
  • Cant wait to see what games MS have planned for Xbox one
  • Way to much left unexplained. The aforementioned 'fee' to play games on a second account? Full MSRP. So if you want to play your game on another system, you'll be dishing out an extra $40, $50, $60 - unless you're logged into your main account. (Parental controls will allow you to grant access to other accounts on the same hardware.) The company plans to allow gamers to 'trade' their used games online somehow - though declined to get into further details. So Gamefly, and used retail games are screwed. I just can't support this system if this happens...
  • i live in ENGLAND so why would i give a shit about the NFL, dont they know that football/soccer is the most popular and televised sport on the planet
  • I can't wait to see the ENTIRE LIST of what does and doesn't work on the new Xbox One. I have about 200 movies on HD DVD (and I own three of the add-on HD DVD drives)... I'd like to know if it will work with Xbox One, or if I can only continue to use it on the 360! They also gave NO DETAILS on the Cloud Storage. Will it be minimal, as it is with the 360... or will it have a LARGE capacity (say... 1 TB) and be able to store digital downloads of games/videos that will download/stream to the console when played/viewed?!
  • This announcement was really disappointing, why turn your console into an entertainment device? Games should come first then entertainment can follow... that being said, I'm not going to be like those people who say "I'm going to get the PS4" just to spite MS. I'll stick with what I have, which is PC and Wii U :')
  • Wish they were releasing GTA V on the X1 :/
  • This about sums it up for me, not impressed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ekOtn7L1N0&list=UUsgv2QHkT2ljEixyulzOnUQ&index=1
  • A perfect example of a company that are too far removed from their consumer base. Sony must be rubbing their hands together after this. Fuck MS.
  • Well, i expect Microsoft still dont understand that the whole world is not in the United States. NFL, Fantasy League, TV Integration - COOL will this all work here in Austria? Probably not and i could care less about sports. I expect Sony will really bash MS at E3 and hit where it hurts.
  • What I want to know that I haven't heard answered yet is if the new Xbox One takes 360 controllers, because the One's controllers don't seem that different, aside from moving the xbox guide button.
  • This about sums it up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbWgUO-Rqcw&feature=player_embedded
  • I won't be getting the XBone, too restrictive and ugly.
  • For everyone saying that people who want a gaming console can just ignore the optional apps and whatnot, you do understand that all that crap puts the price of the console higher? And in addition we (Europe) need to pay about 2x the price for Gold comparing to US and we get about 30% of the apps/features that US gets. Yes I'm only going to get the Xbox One for games but when I see the price tag of 500€ I start immediately thinking about Xbox 360 which cost me 300€. The Kinect adds up to the price for Xbox One as well. The Kinect 1.0 was over 100€ separately so why the Kinect 2.0 wouldn't add at least 100€ to the price... Also the whole Kinect thing was cool BEFORE they made it mandatory for everyone with Xbox One. Yeah I've played around with Kinect 1 but it's been laying around on my desk for what 4 months now. Thank god I only paid 50€ for it. About the console itself, the design is something new. Didn't really expect that. But it's not too ugly for me and I like it that there's no disc tray now. Controller would have been better if they would have just left it like 360 but it didn't surprise me that they made some little changes because it needs to look new of course! Games that have been announced so far are the real deal for me right there! Forza 5, Quantum Break, Watch Dogs... It's going to be a hell of a console for me. BC was something that I was expecting since the 360 had it and a lot of people still want to play older 360 games if not for achievements but for fun. Paying a fee for used games is just dumb... Might as well buy all of my games new from now on.
  • will it be able to stand upright like the 360?
  • i love all these will i wont i comments, carbon copy of 360 ps3 launch info people never change, give it some time let the games announce, let the dust settle before you make up your mind, i personally hate cod games but having cod on one at release is going to get ms a lot of customers this christmas,or if like myself you have pretty unlimited funds and lots of spare time then like myself you will be buying both making up your own mind as to which console is better and giving the loser to your four year old son
  • Great news for PC gaming.
  • I have just pre-ordered my Xbox One & I feel GREAT! You guys should try it! On a more serious note; I can't wait to move platform so I can leave all these whinny dinosaurs & their 360s to wallow in the tar pits of the past! They probably still play them on CRTs. lol @ the ludites.. The king is dead etc...
  • My main question would be is it compatible online with the Xbox 360,what I mean is can I play COD against my friends who don't get the new console.High powered Pc's can play online with lower powered machines so I'm wondering if the new Xbox will allow this. Don't want to get the new machine and have none off my friends to play Cod with.
  • xbox one is cald one for a reason.it can only do one new thing.stream tv. no 360 games on xbox one it blocks used games.must pay a fee.(makes you wonder why ea is stopping the online pas).also may youre xbox one break you have to buy the fee again to play the games on youre new xbox one xbox one is not always online.but it must connect online ones every 24 hours. 360 controllers dont work on xbox one. all games must be installed on youre xbox one hd that is only 500gb big.
  • The real question is what will Xbox360achievements.org now be called? ;) @97, you wouldn't have to pay the used game fee again since you would still retain your purchase history... Games have not been confirmed to require installation either... Stop making up lies.
  • so i have hundreds of live arcade titles. Why they do not transfer i do not know but i am not about to buy a new console to lose all that investment most of which i haven't finished yet.
  • @97 I hear you have to be from Mars to play alien games, see I can make rubbish up as well. I wish people would stop making rubbish up,nobody know anything apart from what Microsoft said yesterday.More will be revealed at E3 and over the coming months.
  • Angry Joe Review. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ekOtn7L1N0&list=UUsgv2QHkT2ljEixyulzOnUQ&index=1
  • I want ONE!
  • Lol just watched Angry Joe. Dead on with every point he makes... Heres the thing, Microsoft is making multiple mistakes with this console and its a travesty. For starters... They are making a very unsettling precedent where, at one time, I bought a game for $60. After i bought the game, I owned it. I owned the case, the disc, the manual, and all contents on the disc. I can loan it to my friends whenever and however long I want. The game is paid for, cost for reproduction and distibution and the work by dev all paid for... Maybe not in full, but my copy is. And all other copies purchased as well. The product cost $60. NOW... and this is the precedent I was referring to... Instead of the game costing $60, Micro$oft has set the precedent that instead of the game costing $60, playing it cost $60... A code is used to determine what players can play it, and what players must pay for a code to play it. The play expierence cost us $60.. similar to a pc game..., as Angry Joe said, he compares it to a pc. It's DRM, to the extreme, undermining purchasers rights of said product. It's not illegal, but it seems like it. Actually a commentator on the Angry Joe rant on his site posted some great legal stuff, which I can't remember right now. This is a complete and utter travesty... All gamers know it, and at this point the true fan bois of xbox are pretty easy to spot, as they still defend their black and emerald god. Thats just 1 issue.. 1... (by the way Sony has not confirmed but has pretty much given their stance on the subject that they will allow used games to be played with no extra cost, look it up. Again.. not a straight out confirmation, but more or less has said as much.) I havent even gotten into Kinect cost markup for the machine, for ppl who don't even want one, yet are forced to pay more because it comes with one... or the seperate potential issue, that it may be a possilbility that its powered by kinect commands only(I think the controller will work too, imo but idk. Or the "It's no longer always-on connection", but needs internet every 24 hours... or you can't play games, or the need for internet to even register the code to INSTALL to a 500gb hdd(yes #98 not a lie)and play a newly purchased game, EVERYTIME a new game is purchased. Or the no backwards compatibility.... really? This pc wannabe can't even emulate.. but really they both are pc architectures.. why not.. greedy bastards.. gonna make us repurchase Games on Demand AND arcade games, if they rerelease them on the One. I think they wanna release their entire back catalog.. IMO, and will do so with this new console.. so expect alot of repurchases , well that is if you want to. Or the lack of games for todays huge reveal... come on Microsoft... this was the big day... E3 you say? Meh... Today the wad was blown... and to little fanfare... in fact another user mentioned, they didn't even mention games or gameplay til 40 minutes in, to a gaming machines reveal!... Yeah it's a given.. we know it plays games... but thats what the machine is for, and why it beat competitors this current generation.. on games. Not facebook, not kinect, not live tv, not espn on xbox live. Yeah this is trivial, since we already know it plays games, and its a hardware reveal, but still... Today was the day to bring out the big guns.. and not Call of Duty and EA. LOL It used to be first and foremost a gaming machine for gamers and today was your day to outshine your competitors. You even decided to stretch the reveal one more month, to outdue your competitors, and what did you do in this month. Sign the NFL network? Finish Kinect responsiveness? Think of the name...One? You got less then a month for E3 and it better be damned good. This was a huge blunder filled mess of a reveal today.. and no wonder microsoft is doing damage control. The biggest one being the new no used games policy, which by itself could spell doom to the consoles standing on top of the console behemoths. A highly repected competitor has free to play used games and free online play/internet. Expect hundreds if not thousands of customers to jump ship to pc or another console with these business practices... Thats alot of money. As for me, I'll still play 360, but for the next gen.. I'll get reaquainted with an old flame... Sony.
  • To everyone leaving Xbox, goodbye, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out! As an dedicated gamer, I for one will be getting both console's like I did last Gen.
  • I have many mixed emotions. I never took looked at rumours after all they are rumors and i didnt want it to make my view tainted. Next gen looks truly amazing and game play is fantastic. But the entertainment worries me. How many of these features will work outside of the US? Also many entertainment features on 360 i cannot use due to a bad connection that cannot be fixed. (I live in the country side). For me, at the moment xbox one is purely a gaming platform. Seems a big selling point of ghosts is character customisation. It has been done before and no doubt rainbow 6 vegas 2 had more customisation. Where have people got the idea of no backwards compatibility from? I didnt see it in the release?
  • Dumb name. Butt Ugly. I'm actually quite happy with the current gen titles. I can get through the next year plus just playing older games I never got around to. Not buying this.
  • E3 will show you all lot's of games there just getting all the crap stuff out of the way at E3 they have nothing but amazing games to show off lol My Youtube www.youtube.com/user/FellowshipOfTheBox
  • @105 so what about those that have no choice for the Internet yet want to play MS/Xbox titles like Halo? I've played Halo since day one, love the game, love the lore, love playing it on deployment with my friends. What if I deploy and Halo 5 comes out and I have this box that can't play it while I'm gone or any other games for that matter? I would love to but I do not get an Internet connection to get these updates? Or any game for that matter, you would deprive a great fan base of something that is one of the little pieces of home that we do not get for 9-14 months? I make this my case along, MS has, in my mind, and until they state directly otherwise fucked over the troops. I love my 360, and I love Halo and I could not imagine not playing Halo 5, 6, and probably any other title in the chain, but to do the things that they have done is an insult to customers, hardcore, casual, or just looking for a piece of home.
  • I'm really dissapointed in this next gen , all the things i find faulty in this xbox one is said by @104. Regarding that internet connection, it's utterly stupid, there are cases where i have problem with connection for more than 1 day does that mean i won't be able to play at xboxOne? I'm sorry but since when it was that i can't play whenever i want on a machine that i bought with cash that i earned by myself?
  • To all the people complaining about the Kinect being required with the Xbox One: You are aware that the PS4 has a camera system also, right? http://webassets.scea.com/pscomauth/groups/public/documents/webasset/feb21/pdf/playstation4_specification.pdf Frankly I don't see the difference, other than the Kinect actually looks better.
  • This Xbox ONE reveal was a let down. The Name- ugh- bad just bad sorry. The one time game install and associated fee is really a kick in the pants. They should take a clue from Apple iTunes or Steam- I am certain neither of those companies are bleeding money and offer far better DRM strategies. Kinect can be fun, glad they improved it- but it was supposed to work that way the first time, they cut costs and kept a co-processor out of this generations Kinect. Obviously this pack in is to raise the retail price of the system. No Back Compatibility is just crazy- Thanks for letting keep my gamer tag and score I guess? My friends could compare what I was playing on a totally different console-brilliant!! Additionally I simply cannot accept the explanation behind this, nor should you as you know they are going to repackage and sell rehashed versions of everything you have already bought once before. All my games on steam work on any laptop or desktop in the house that has enough CPU/GPU power to meet the min specs. For MS to talk about how this is the center of your entertainment world and ONE machine for everything- except all those games you bought on our service and DLC- and do not be surprised when the 360 servers are shut down. If you are on your 5th Xbox, Like I am, I hope you have all your licenses transferred and ready for when Xbox 360 support vanishes and that your 360 lasts. TV stuff looked interesting- but cable is overpriced I gave it up years ago- still watch plenty of TV and Movies for a fraction of the cost on Roku or other services- I just don't miss it. I honestly expected Forza and CoD to look a little better. At least something like 16x FSAA etc since my gaming PC can run things that look smoother- The 360 has had a great run and I am still finding bargain bin gems that are a blast to play. I feel like I kind of want to get the new system but right now MS is just not making a compelling case for me to upgrade- seriously Disappointed
  • NEWS FLASH: Microsoft has just confirmed that the Xbox Oe will also play games! @26: That's what I've been saying since day 1: M$ cannot make a step that big without Sony doing the same. BOTH Microsoft and Sony will charge fees for playing used games. And that's the true reason why EA are ditching their online passes. @27: Seconded.
  • Just on a sidenote guys, okay so now we know abit more about the next gen xbox and also the PS4. Whoever isn,t hapy the path MS is going and the possible fee for playing used games, there is a big chance Sony isn,t charging you anything for playing used games, if this is true, i somehow so alot of xbox gamers jump ship. Lets face it we still need some more details, but as far details go at this moment, i,m def thinking hard whatever next gen console i get first. And to lift some details on that. I don,t think it will be xbox one. But thats still not sure untill they reveal the real details as specs and how they realy going handle the used games ect. This said MS not realy doing their best i find to give gamers much credit as their plan for used games and their two sided commentaries on how they handle used games not makes it any better.
  • Are any of these rants based on fact? I mean... the full details will be known by E3 - yet the rumors seem to persist. I think people need to stop speculating, and wait for the full details to be released! Why worry yourself into a frenzy, when YOU DON'T KNOW the final announcement? The amount of time you're spending, looking for and adding to the rumor mill is a waste of time! Just go back to playing video games, and wait until E3 to see what Microsoft is going to announce. Keep in mind... they can STILL make changes just before launch - and even after!!!
  • We'll see come E3.
  • Everyone including me is sad that there is no backwards compatibility, but I wonder how many people understand how backwards compatibility works. The original ps3 was so large because it had backwards compatibility.... they put a ps2 inside it xD Because of how differently the consoles are designed the disc drive cannot load any of the original games without, pretty much, placing the previous console inside it. The reason the wii u can play wii games is because it is basically a wii with hd capability's. There wasn't much difference there so the console didn't need anything extra to run the wii games. Both the ps4 and xbox one are so different from there predecessors that backwards compatibility became impossible through disc so Sony is releasing older games through and cloud system and I'm sure Microsoft is doing the same (although I'm just gonna keep my previous console as well so I don't have to re-buy games :P). This is only my basic understanding of backwards compatibility. It has a lot to do with hardware mod's that cannot be recreated on such a different console but I don't know much more in-depth than that.
  • I just see it as when your finished with a game, what the hell you supposed to do with the game, if this rent/trade in is true...... dont make sense if i sell my car do i need to give the car maker a percentage NO.... MS its just pure thievery
  • I think I speak for everyone when I read all the comments about people jumping to the PS4 -- Please... *clears throat*... don't let the door hit you on the way out.
  • So after MSFT wooed me back to console gaming with the original XBOX, the upgrade to the XBOX 360, almost 8 yrs as an XBOX Live member and a gamerscore and completion percentage that I am actually proud of, they pull this crap. I never would have believed it, but it seems that the headlines upon release will be "MSFT and evil kingdom partner (choke, EA, choke) murder the video game rental business." Subtitled "Death of a Platform." What's with all this "cloud" crap anyway? I try my dazmndest to keep my electronic footprint at a minimum but I am being forced to accept that not only all my info, but now all my game licenses, documents, emails, etc. be stored on some public domain server on which I have no control of the security. Excuse me? How many times a week does Hotmail get hacked and you want me to trust you with EVERYTHING?! Hell NO! I'm done! With the advent of the XBOX One, Office 2013/365, Outlook.com, MSFT has lost one of thefew loyalists they had left. So where can I get my hands on a cheap Mac and a PS4?
  • I am curious if I can uninstall the apps I wont use? If I can then I am almost onboard, I understand the BC issues with them not being compatible with the One, but I am sure they could add another part or 2 to make it work. I am also wondering if I can just disable the Kinect function altogether, since I never use it on the 360. The thing that ticks me off more than anything is the pre-owned game charge, it seems that the companies want to double dip when it comes to getting money: 1) buy the game new pay full $$$$, 2) person gets bored and gives to it another player pay some $$$ to company and repeat for anyone else who wants to play it.
  • I'm definitely sticking with my 360
  • Who cares if you can’t afford the system and not everyone had HD TV with that said, good luck MS with lose many players due to high cost increases, system cost nearly $500.00 buck and limited games each year. This is why MS say all in one entertainment system it is to compete to keep up with other social networks like twitter, Facebook, and others. “All good things come to an end.”
  • All of these "game videos" look great, but I really don't think I will get the next generation xbox until the issues myself and everyone else are wanting developers to fix are resolved. I bet microsoft will go out of business and everyone who were xbox fans will switch to pc. No point in getting ps4 because they're basically doing the same thing. Already started selling my 360 games and buying parts for a custom pc. GTA 5 will look great and will let me mod no matter what. Sayonara.
  • This console is fucking worthless. No used games or 360 games will work on this console they said. for 650 buck I think it should play old games. We don't need all the apps there giving us. An to always have kinect on is stupid. I happy with the 360. If they don't let 360 or used games on the xbox1 i'm jumping ship to ps4.
