Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts Pre-Order Includes Free Early Download of Original

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts Pre-Order Includes Free Early Download of Original
Written Tuesday, August 19, 2008 by Jason Debelyak

We got our hands on some very tasty information today regarding the upcoming release of Rare's Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.  First and foremost, it was finally confirmed that the rumored $39.99 price tag is indeed real.  Adding to that, we finally got a concrete release date for the game and it will be hitting U.S. store shelves on November 14th.  No information of a release date was given for those in other parts of the world, however.

That isn't enough Banjo goodness for you?  Also revealed today is that everyone that pre-orders the retail game at participating retailers will receive a free download code for the XBLA rendition of the original Banjo-Kazooie.  However, in something that has never been done on XBLA before, those that pre-order Banjo-Kazooie will be able to use their free download codes weeks before the game's actual release to the public.

Another nifty feature revealed is the use of linked achievements within Nuts & Bolts, by rewarding things you have achieved in the retail game with extra features in the Arcade port.  All this for $40?  Sold.

ya i definitely love promos like this one. i don't see where it makes sense for the publisher in a money wise sense though because if their thought is use a promo to get people to pre order and buy the full game, it has a flaw because people can easily cancel the pre order afterwards.

I love the achievement game-linking features that are showing up in games (this, Castle Crashers/Alien Hominid, and GoW/GoW2). Finally something substantial to come out of achievements besides quelling my OCD need to complete every game I play 100%. Also nice to see Rare making a name for themselves again, between this and Viva Pinata, they're taking the right steps.

Though I'm still not sold on the new game, I'll definitely pre-order for the code and switch the game if it turns out to be garbage.

@60:

I went in a few days ago, but if they're not participating in the deal then I will transfer my 5$ to Fable 2 or Fallout 3. I want the original oh, so badly. =(

Gamestop always participates in the pre-order shenanigans; why wouldn't they now?

OH wait up..

Just a thought:

It says that gamers will be able to use the code weeks before others can play..

does that mean that the card wont be availible until then as to squash out using the code pre-maturely?

again, just a thought

Hey, does this apply to gamestop because I pre ordered today and they said they don't have it in yet? Are they wrong and they aren't a participating retailer or do I just have to wait for like a week or two?

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
