If you're good at games (and even if you're not), you might be interested in checking out the Xbox Tournaments with Virgin Gaming app on Xbox Live, with free-to-enter tournaments kicking off this week. The app is available to Xbox Live subscribers in the US, UK and Canada, and enables players of all skill levels to participate in daily, weekly and monthly contests for leaderboard supremacy, with the chance to win a share of $1000,000 cash.

Starting this week, the likes of EA Sports' FIFA 13, Madden NFL 13, NHL 13 and 2K Sports' NBA 2K13 will all be available to participate in, with more titles from leading publishers to be added. "Fun and accessible" Xbox Tournaments invite dedicated pro players and casual players alike to join in by downloading the app via Xbox Live and registering for a free account at Virgin Gaming. Existing Virgin Gaming account holders can activate their accounts here.

Xbox Tournaments with Virgin Gaming promises more features for the app in the coming months, including cash-play gaming, leaderboards and "epic tournaments", as well as more titles and availability in more countries across the globe. Dan says he's "so going to play FIFA 13" in this. Perhaps you should log on and show him how it's done, eh?

  • $1000,000. something doesnt seem right.
  • I'd be interested in any other genre, I fucking blow HARD at Sports games. That's right, I blow hard.
  • you now the world is so big but still they make every thing exclusive for US, Uk and Canada!!!!
  • Sports..... suck at them in real life, suck at them when they are videogames.
  • win cash like a virgin
  • Virgin Gaming?... Who was in charge of marketing, seriously
  • Virgin Gaming is the most accurate name ever.
  • Anyone else having difficulty signing in? I've reset my password, so my email is correct, but logging in or activating just won't accept it.
  • why only sports games? When there are plenty of other games which offer a much better competitive multiplayer experience.
  • @2..if it was in my pocket..id make it work :p @7 maybe Virgin Mobile :D
  • No fighting games? I guess my time here is ogre since I'm terrible at fifa unless there's a clubs tourney then stuff it why not would be a laugh.
  • @7 Maybe the company Virgin, who offer TV, broadband, Trains, mobile and home telephone and air travel among other things?
  • @10 Virgin gaming has been around for a good couple of years and back then we could participate in halo and battlefield tournaments but then they just dropped support for some reason. Haven't touched my virgin gaming account since then. Will give it another go if they add some shooters.
  • I'll pass on any tournament featuring EA Sports games. I'm surprised they haven't shut their servers down already.
  • Its all Sport related games... If I liked 'sport' I'd be out doing it.
  • @4 The world has been divided in two...
  • @8: Pretty bad joke especially coming from someone with 173k GS...seriously? You're not one to talk about "Virgin Gaming".
  • @4 That's why Im not getting excited anymore when I see news like this posted :p
  • @20 Over the top? Not quite. Annoying? Subjective.
  • As long as by "tournament" they dont mean who puts up the most points in a given amount of time or anything. That always leads to someone hacking and then the contests trail off quickly. Better be something head to head at least then.
  • Have any of you guys ever won anything in these tournaments? I've seen em around but never participated.
  • So I lost my virginity like 4 hours ago...am I still eligible ?
  • Hmmmmmmm is it time to dust off FIFA and throw judgement in the bin? Omg did I really just say that. Beats playing pokerstars .....
  • 2: That's what happens when you don't proofread anything you write. It'd be great if RW would take a lesson from this post, but he won't.
  • I still have my copy of Blitz 2 does that count?
  • If there was something different than sports, I'd enter. I suck at sport games in video games.
  • I love how they have it advertised by "virgin mobile" just to get a hidden slap in the face to all the virgins are actually going to play these "tournaments"
  • @14: Virgim Gaming has been around for years. I have a Sega Genesis game called Cool Spot by Virgin Games (I assume same company?). Copyright of 1993.
  • Still no fucking edit button on this shit site too. How retarded are the site programmers?
  • @26: Yup, the author is a dumbass. That dollar value doesn't make sense. Plus, he was late with this article. Didn't this start April 6th? Dumb. Ass.
  • @30/31/32 Calm down.
