History Channel: Civil War - Secret Missions

HISTORY Civil War: Secret Missions Announced
Written Friday, August 15, 2008 By Joe Robinson

Activision Publishing has announced a new multi-platform title that will “immerse players in history's most crucial covert operations.”

A new instalment of the HISTORY Civil War series, named Secret Missions, will allow players to assume the role of Union and Confederate soldiers fighting behind enemy lines.

The gameplay will involve you conducting various types of missions and participating in some of the better known battles in the Civil War. All of the events in the game have been drawn from the real life actions of famous partisans, scouts and rangers.

“There is a rich history to the Civil War, especially in terms of covert military tactics,” said Dave Oxford, Activision Publishing. “American warfare in the 1860’s was brutal yet surprisingly sophisticated, so it was essential for us to capture this duality.”

HCW: SM is slated for release later this year, and will cost around $50 for the 360.

Battle For The Pacific was is out in the U.K mate. Anyone who hasnt played it gotta try it out to see how bad it is. Very similar to the 1st PS1 Medal Of Honour, only worse.

The first civil war game was pretty horrible. It was pretty hard to sit through.

I played the first Civil War game and it gave out bits of history in the mission outlines, which is educational but the game play was not first or second rate. It was buggy and the control scheme was not intuitive.... I'd pass on this second game.

aaaaaaa instead of the damn civil war, why not do something that might be fun, but sorta original, like a world war 2 fps from the axis side, id love to fight the russians as the germans, but otherwise the civil war as an fps was a stupid idea, the first civil war game was garbage

Get used to the fact that many people don't seem to know that. Anyway, probably nobody "wants" to be a nazi but it might be interesting playing WWII games from another point of view. At least for intelligent people.
