Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Achievements Surface, Points to Standalone XBLA Game

We've managed to get our mitts on the achievement list for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon today (beware SPOILERS), which has 19 achievements for 400 Gamerscore. Tellingly however, the title is a standalone affair, and since there's 400G on offer with the list, it suggests that Blood Dragon could be an Xbox Live Arcade game rather than an add-on.

There's a few spoilers in the list, which includes (*stop reading now to avoid said spoilers*) dragon slaying, killing animals and resolving hostage situations. It looks like Ubisoft is really letting Far Cry 3 off the leash with Blood Dragon, and the achievements hint at something that could be quite off the wall.

Hit the link at the top of the article for the full achievement list. Hopefully, Ubisoft will reveal some details on Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, because for now, we can only speculate. That image below isn't from Blood Dragon, in case you're wondering.

  • More Far Cry is always welcome.
  • Definitely looking forward to more FarCry 3 antics. Was hoping for some SP DLC, but this is just as good I presume. Bring it on, and bring it on soon.
  • I don't get it... Why not just make an expansion....
  • Aw man, I hope this is definitely stand alone, I just sold far cry 3 on a few days ago. Made the same mistake with Sleeping Dogs.
  • @3 So people who don't have the actual game (or have sold it on) can enjoy and play it, instead of just the people that still have the game
  • Lol, so I guess more Far Cry isn't welcome. Who knew...
  • Why did #1 get so many negatives? =/
  • ^Because it wasn't the guy that comments first on every other article.
  • @8 Because these forums, like others, are full of children with nothing better to do.
  • Couldn't the dragons just be Komodo Dragons? Like in the retail game?
  • CanĀ“t wait to see what it is about, is it like FC3? Graphics and stuff like that just for 800-1600msp, we will see :)
  • I assume this will be quite steeply priced. I'll buy it anyway, since if it was DLC I'd probably go 1200 on it without much thought. If it is more we'll have to see. But assuming it plays the same, it's gonna be good fun. Enjoyed Far Cry 3 a lot, I expect to enjoy this a lot.
  • Shooting dragons with a bow? Far Cryrim?
  • @7 Because this websites comments have gone to total anarchy recently. @12 Not necessarily; Dead Rising: Case west was a similar affair, at 800 points. Though I'm hoping this is longer than that; Dead Rising has always favoured multiple playthrough's, I'm unsure if Far Cry can handle the same ideals.
  • so another one to add to the arcade collection. :)
  • @13 Skyrim didn't invent dragons or bows, let alone shooting dragons with bows. OT: I was hoping for some SP DLC for Far Cry 3, but I guess this is fine.
  • This is actually a pretty smart move, considering they waited so long. Now they can score sales from tons of people that traded the game in and weren't planning on buying it again just to complete the DLC (me included). I hope they don't get too carried away with the price, though.
  • @ 17 Agreed. It's also a good way to get people who didn't buy the game to go out and buy it if this is good and they enjoy the downloadable version. I'd still like confirmation about what this actually is, it's definately a different approach.
  • @10 A whole game with those annoying sneaky buggers. That wouldn't make me wanna buy the game.
  • Why would anyone sell FC3 in the first place? I'd personally rather have this as DLC, but hey, more FC is good, right?
  • @10 Yes. There was even a path of the hunter quest that had you hunt and kill a "blood dragon". So I sincerely doubt these "dragons" that are mentioned are the "Thar be Dragons" type that the dimwit that wrote this article thinks they are. Far Cry is pretty out there. But it isn't THAT out there. Either way. Looking forward to hearing more about this.
  • far cry 3 was fucking amazing so if this is anything remotely like the fc3 single player then ima buy
  • As most of people here, I think it's a smart move to release it as a standalone game (as long as it's not shorter than planned because of that). - People that traded the game can still buy it. - People that don't have the game can buy it, and then might be interested to also buy Far Cry 3. - It might be a bit cheaper (like 400 points less, for example) than a true DLC, as the potential of sell is higher because of the two things upper.
  • The [Headshot Every Type of Enemy] achievement sounds kinda fun, so does the max lv badass. Wow, what a surprise.
  • 2 things 1) this better acually be far cry and not some other shit. 2)so happy its an arcade game cause now i wont have to buy the game back *so excited if this is a far cry add-on
