Square Enix Trademarks Lara Croft: Reflections

Square Enix has filed a trademark for something called Lara Croft: Reflections.

The filing could relate to anything, from an iOS swipey tappy game to a full blown next-gen sequel, we just don’t know yet. What we do know, however, is that following the success of the recent reboot, we’re gonna be seeing a lot more of Lara in the months and years to come.

"Future games will be defined by who Lara has become as a result of who she is at the end of this experience," global brand director Karl Stewart told Reddit in a recent AMA.

"Now that Lara is more experienced, we are excited to take her on new adventures that challenge her new strength and confidence. It is important that even as Lara grows as a character, so do the challenges she must face,” added creative director Noah Hughes.

"In terms of where we go next, we cannot answer too directly, but now that Lara has survived the Island she can follow the clues that she found on the Island."

Ooh, mysterious. Check out our Tomb Raider review here, if you haven’t already. Recently Crystal Dynamics revealed that the game’s DLC would be multiplayer only. Boo.

  • Was hopping for a little campaign story to, but multiplayer DLC is also great love the online
  • Let's hope this will be another full game, loved this one. I'd love a HD Collection of the original 4 aswell!
  • I hope its not the name of a sequel,As I kinda hope they stick to the Tomb Raider name, instead of 'Lara Croft and...' like the XBLA game was,i guess it may very well be another XBLA game
  • She didn't survive on my island, left her impailed on a stick
  • That was quick. Guess they were reading negitive comments about MP DLC only lol.
  • probably multiplayer DLC. hope so i really really enjoy it.
  • @3 I would acctually love it to be called just Lara Croft: "SOMETHING" Because atleast this Tomb Raider wasn´t about raiding tombs at all.
  • They need to do a massEffect, free mp dlc, paid SP Dlc, IF its sizable. I'm not paying for 1 tomb. 20 tombs, a short story perspective from another character or faction, with 250gs, then maybe. They could do it from perspective of one of the warriors back in the days of yamatai. See the island inits new splendour, not ruins.
  • @8 20 tombs when theres 7 in the core game? get real.
  • @10, Allow me to share a website with you! Xbox 360 Achievements. Great achievement site. They also ban advertisers. And best of all, they do it for free.
  • @11 No adverts in the news threads please. Reported.
  • I'm pretty sure they'll keep with Tomb Raider for the sequel name
  • TR2013 was a nice game but, speaking as a longtime TR fan, it was nothing like I wanted it to be. Very few puzzles and a huge focus on shooting bad guys from cover (something I can do in plenty of other games). Hopefully the next game is much, much better.
  • Jumping on the sequel train I see Crystal Dynamics
  • EA make game and put micro transactions into Dead Space 3: Big news story Epic Games charge $50 for the complete GoW:J skins set and Square Enix put in micro transactions for single player perks easily available within the game: Nothing At least try to hide the bias. (Plus if you did similar stories about EG and SE, you'd get more people raging in the comments, more people linked, more views, higher ad revenue, etc. It's a Winner!)
  • #10 Hello silly spammer. Here great website for you visit there and spamming lots things there - www.crazyspammers.com. So enjoy this site for you play about with spamming anything wrong or rubbish. Nevermind spammer!! I still want single-player dlc and hope Crystal planning it really soon. Lol
  • Did I say something about another Call of Duty?
  • This actually sounds like a new book. Think about it, it's called Lara Croft: Reflections. During the game, at certain camps in certain sections of the story, Lara would write down her actions and experiences so far in her journal. Maybe this could be a full fledged book on her adventure on Yamatai, or maybe a prequel to the game, like how she wound up on the Yamatai expedition. I'm just spitballing though, and will probably get thumbs downed for thinking its not a game or DLC.
  • @17 This is by far the most clever post I've ever layed my eyes upon. I hope they stick with Tomb Raider fir their direct sequels. I'm gonna guess this is an iOS game since they said no SP DLC and I doubt they'd call a full sequel Lara Croft.
  • Must thumbs down people who have a different opinion to me!
