A new cinematic story trailer for Resident Evil: Revelations has hit the web today, offering up some insight into the kind of stakes that JIll Valentine, Chris Redfield and their respective partners will be up against on the SS Queen Zenobia.

Under threat from shady terrorist organisation Veltro and their aquatic strain of the T-virus, Jill and Chris have to face the terror of the Ooze; hideous mutated creatures roaming the confines of the ship.

Check out the trailer to find out more (but not too much) about the game's story, which is set between Resident Evil 4 and 5. Resident Evil: Revelations is out on May 21st in North America, May 23rd in Japan and May 24th in Europe.

You can read our hands-on preview here.

This was one of my favourite games last year, and also the first Resident Evil I had ever played. Its so brilliant, it actually made me go and play other games in the series and I'm now hooked. Cannot wait to pick this up again!

The lip-syncing in the trailer is atrocious. I hope it's better in the retail game.

So.. does that make it 3 resident evils in one year now? Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of the series and always have been but when did RE become COD. I just finished 6 and it was good, didnt play ORC and I know I'm not missing anything, and this trailer isnt looking much better. I miss the well thought out games that started the series, not the QTE churned out action franchise this has become. With that said, I think 6 will remain the one of three recent installments so as not to spoil the enjoyment I got from it.

Looks too much like 4/5/6 which I disliked as a resident evil game but they were ok games but might still give this a go since like to keep upto date with the story.

@6 This is a remaster of last years 3DS title. It really captures the horror and puzzles of the originals, with limited ammo but the controls of the newer games. It really is a gem. Pretty much the game that makes the 3DS worth getting, and now it's on 360. RE6 was made by the main team, this was done by a smaller side team as a 3DS project, and ORC was done by some Americans who were making a spin off 'what if' game.

Looks really great and I'm looking forward to it but the trailer showed a bit too much imo.

I hope Capcom looks at the sales/responses from this game and realizes that we want horror, not run and gun.

@6 Really? I mean the combat was an upgrade in 6, but man that game got really boring. I only found it amusing playing with a friend and seeing the gory dying when we fucked up some parts.

@11 I said good, not great. Taken as it is I consider it entertaining for the 50 hours it took me to just about 100%. It's not comparable to the richness of 1-4, but I dont think I wasted my time. And agreed it got repeatative very quickly.

@11, this is a step back to resident evil, away from CoD, showing that capcom have a little common sense left, and hope to make the resi evil series into survival horror again.
