| Was really hoping mass effect 3:omega would be on sale soon. I dont know why they put the same old shit on sale month after month. Microsoft are really becoming annoying whereas Sony are really beginning to grasp what gamers want...my ps+ collection is looking pretty healthy and for the same £40 with ms I only get to play online lol. I think my next gen money will go on Sony this time around. Thanks in advance for the thumbs downs. |

The Scott Pilgrim DLC isn't supposed to be up until Wednesday according to Brian Lee O'Maley (sp?), the guy who created Scott Pilgrim.
Only Playstation 3 is getting it today, as far as I know, so I don't know why Major Nelson said today.
If you boot up the game, they already added a new update which adds a space for Wallace (but he's not there) and you can actually access online mode, but you can only play World 1 online without buying the DLC.
Regardless, $5, as low as that is, is too steep for what you're getting. A single character and online that should be free. Two years late. People are only going to play it once as Wallace and then grab the online achievements solely to get completion again. It's not worth $5. Will wait for a deal or until I've accumulated Bing/XBLR points. |

@3 - Thanks for letting us all know, we will all sleep better tonight. I don't understand all this love for PS Plus either. You get a small discount on certain items and then the "free" games. You know those games which are only yours while you continue to pay for the service. At least with LIVE I know I'm paying for online whereas on a PS3 I'm paying for what? Meagre discounts and loaned games?

You get to play online for free on PS3, and the optional extra you pay for plus is very good value: £40 a year, it's the same as Gold, but the only thing Xbox has over it is cross game chat.
And sure you don't get to keep the game forever, but if your not finishing a game within a year then the PS+ service is not for you anyway.
If you can't admit that from a value for money standpoint that PS+>Gold, then you need to open your eyes. |

While I agree MS continues to rehash the same crap (especially with GTA4) PSN+ is still nothing more than a rental service. Those are not free games dude, you are paying for them! Not only that but they arn't even yours to keep.
I could go on about how much of a SCAM PSN+ is to someone like me but I don't think you would understand. It seems all those sorry souls on PSN want is freebies and instant gratification... LOL. I'm sorry to say but I like to own my games and I prefer physical copies of my games as well because I'm a collector, not a renter like you.
I will never pay for PSN+ because it is nothing more than a rental service who's only redeeming value is in the discounts you get. I'd much rather pay for XBL to be honest, and have better security, better download speeds and installations, an OS I can trust that doesn't freeze the console every day and that doesn't cause my HDD to fail making me lose my saved games, etc,etc.
PSN+ only appeals to the instant gratification generation.. Not me. The fact that nearly 90% of PS3 exclusives doesn't intrest me doesn't help matters either. And then being forced to use that 17 year old archaic dual shock 3 (ergonomic nightmare) of a controller to play said games? Uh uh, Sony can keep their shit and their gimped online service.

| I own and like both, but never once had any if the issues you mentioned. But I guess fanboys like to forget that RRoD ever happened. I'm not an online gamer outside of co-op modes usually, and they're not as common. My only stink between the two is little things, like netflix, which I pay for separately, won't run on Xbox unless I'm also paying them as well. It's annoying for someone who rarely buys digital or plays online to have to pay for a service they would barely use. Not to mention all the other crap it comes with gamers likely don't want. Also psn doesn't have ads, regardless of wether or not you pay them. |

Thank you guys for atleast respecting my opinion and not being immature about the whole thing. Although I still stand by everything I said (because the PS3 console itself and PSN has given me nothing but headaches since day 1) I do understand how it holds value for others.. but it will never hold value for me.. there are just too many cons imo to be gaming on the PS3 other than for exclusives.
As far as the gold paywall goes, I agree. I find it absolutely disgusting that MS feels the need to lock things like netflix and IE from silver members.
In the end though at less than 3 bucks a month I still find more value in XBL though.. despite how I feel about the gold paywall.

Scott Pilgrim's DLC is finally out! But you can try out the new online co-op on the first level for free, so give it a try before you spend your MSP.
