Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance VR Mission DLC Coming Next Week

Konami has slapped an EU date on the VR mission DLC for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which adds 30 new VR missions to tackle with Raiden's high-frequency blade.

Apparently the VR missions include a side-scrolling section and a mission in which you play as one of the three-armed dwarf gekkos. Subsequent DLC packs will enable you to control Jetstream Sam and the LQ-81i Blade Wolf, which reportedly serve as prequel chapters.

You'll be able to grab the Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance VR missions DLC on March 13th in Europe for 240 Microsoft Points. The DLC is PS3-exclusive in North America.

  • That's great news! So it's not a PS3 exclusive.
  • @1 - It is PS3-only in North America for some reason.
  • Read the last sentence Mister Superman...
  • I am still shocked nothing has been said about why/if its fully exclusive or just timed. If fully, the added achievements for NA users are a bullshit tease that Konami should explain. But they wont, since they seem to be ignoring all questions on this topic.
  • @Rich Oh okay. That sucks. Hopefully someday we'll see it. I hate exclusive DLC. Everyone should be able to enjoy it. @3 I did read it. I guess I got confused by seeing a DLC mention here, then seeing a "PS3 exclusive" in the last sentence.
  • @5 This site isn't just news for NA... Therefore it's still news for other regions
  • @6 My mistake and apologies to anyone that's offended by it.
  • We'll see if these missions are harder than the original. Mission 18 and 19 is the original trouble with VR missions.
  • @komani F%$@ you, how much money did sony give you to make it so I'll never be able 100% the achievement list. I hope kojipro talks some god damn sense into you
  • Provided the content works with NTSC versions of the game, you should be able to buy the add-on with a PAL-region profile, and load it up. (Getting region-specific MS points is tricky, but if you use Bing Rewards, you can use the points earned from them, as they are region-free.) Still pretty crappy of Konami to attach achievements to DLC that not everyone can get. Back when Mt. Fuji for SSX was not available in the US, I used a UK gamertag to redeem a code I obtained so I could use the content. It loaded into my NTSC game without any issues.
  • Whoops. Correction to the end of my first sentence: Provided the content works with NTSC versions of the game, you should be able to buy the add-on with a PAL-region profile, and load it up with your main profile.
  • Its also free for US ps3 owners.
  • I don't like VR missions but yeah fun sometime. Campaign is better so I hope new chapters DLC for Campaign coming soon. One of best games this year so really need more story chapters. :D
  • This won't be timed DLC will it?
  • So Americans can't get this... Ever?
  • @10 Thank god. This doesn't even have achievements, it appears.
  • Wait, it DOES. LOL awesome. I can't wait to see my fellow Americans raging against Konami and Microsoft for this. Enjoy 95% completion haha.
  • Now you know how us Europeans felt when Scrabble was never made available for the Hasbro Family Night :-P
  • And yet the only DLC I'm seeing for Revengence so far is... MGS4 Cyborg body.
  • Ok, let me get this strait; the 30 bonus VR Missions that are exclusive to the Playstation 3 are going to be available in EU and not in North America. Then can someone please tell me why I have the locked achievements for those VR Missions? I mean I freaking love this game, I'm playing it right now as a matter of fact. I just can't seem to get enough of it. But I'm just really curious about those missions, I really want them.
