Crysis 3 looks lovely. There's no disputing that. But it's often criticised for being a bit soulless and preoccupied with looking pretty. And with the current console cycle drawing to a close, Crytek must be struggling to wring every last drop of power from ageing console hardware, right? Can Crysis 3 deliver in the gameplay department and tell a compelling narrative with original Crysis hero Prophet at its centre? Or is it all still lacking that all-important X-factor: a soul?
