| It has nothing to do with you or existing Gold members. It's about promoting Gold to people who aren't currently paying for it. We get enough two-day vouchers when we pop open games for the first time anyway. |

| Either way, it would be nice for certain events, RDR 3x EXP, to be permanent as noted above. Gold would be nice if they charged less. It doesn't bother me since I just bought 12 months from Best Buy for $24.99 during their deal for $35 and using a $10 rewards coupon. I haven't bought Gold for the original price ever since I first got it. It's been a blessing. |

| This is my last year paying for gold Im on 6 years now and when I got 20 points for it being my birthday that finished it for me :-( . I know it free points but what can I get for 20 points !!! really bad pr microsoft and your losing someome who spends a fair share of money with you . Way to look a gift horse in the mouth - even when it isn't very generous. I don't recall Microsoft telling me (or anyone else, for that matter) that users will get free stuff for paying to "use" their online service.
If you eat at a restaurant on your birthday, because they say they'll give you a free dessert... when they bring you a slice of cake, do you tell them you will never eat there again, because they didn't give you a "whole" cake?
I thought Microsoft was - at times - greedy... but you've got them beat by a mile. I hope you enjoy playing games on the crappy free PlayStation network!! |

| I've been a live member for over 3 years and not once have I seen Microsoft give any gold members anything worth while. Every month they give at least a deal of the week that was in the previous month.. The only reason Microsoft is doing any of this is because the ps4 is here and they're afraid of losing people, so their idea is to lower prices on high games once a day for a week only. Not realizing that they would actually make more if they would keep all the games lowered for a week.. The only reason silver members are getting 2 day's free if because Microsoft refuses anytime more than that. It seems to be as if Microsoft is too worried about people actually enjoying a week or so of actually discovering what gold is really all about. |

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, true... but this isn't a gift horse, and your cake analogy isn't quite accurate.
Imagine, instead of a whole slice of cake, the restaurant gave you 5 crumbs. Afterward, they asked you to tell them what you thought of the dessert, and they brought out the cook from the kitchen to explain that the company was being nice and rewarding their loyal customers.
Sure, strictly speaking, it's better than nothing... But the way MS handled it left a bad taste in people's mouths. Remember that MS literally made a press announcement for a press announcement to say that they would start handing out surprise birthday gifts to their members. If MS had just started doing it, it wouldn't have been so bad. But they actually had the nerve to parade around and wave the 20 points in front of our faces as though they were doing everyone a huge favor. |
