i love the 'catch' about execution being that a one shot kill weapon is the only thing that will kill them instantly, and that other weapons will just make the player be in a downed state and need to be executed, that's what execution rules were anyway in the gears series.
only difference to this mode is the timer which should be the 'catch' to this game mode. |

Preorders must be down.
Here comes the unpopular part of my post...
I'm tired of GoW. I've out grown twitch-shooter. Chainsaws and shotgun, meh. New IP please. Oh and Bulletstorm was a foul-mouthed, flashy Gears clone, that I had no interest in playing after I beat it.
The only good about Epic is their engines and the Douche Huge is gone. |

So.....
They remove the default game mode from Gears and one of the original mechanics, get ripped apart by fans for it, and then convince someone to sponsor it as "Free dlc" while they scramble to create it so they can add it back into the game.
Whatever...I was resentful about it, but was probably going to end up buying it since my main group of friends were. This makes that purchase a little easier to take.
Call it free dlc if you want. They cut the iconic Gears multiplayer mode and mechanic, and pissed off a lot of fans. This is just to get those fans back, and they don't have time to put it on disc. |

@28 I don't agree, but you brought up something interesting to me:
I play hours of Gears 3 online, but nearly all the time people don't bother utilizing executions; normally, they just kill them with one shot of either shotgun / other means. The only time people have ever used executions was to either t-bag somebody or go towards a medal of some kind. |

#28: True, I do prefer Warzone, mainly do my long range Hammerburst downs can be converted into kills.
I bet Haven is a bunch of mongs running right into the centre or camping on the 'ring' around the centre. Seems ripe for patrolling the ring for easy kills. |

| @ 9 - leaving a mode out that's been a standard in other game only to give it to us 'free' is a piss poor way of them trying to get on gamer's good side by saying 'Hey, we gave you something free'. It'd be like your boss holding money out of your paycheck to give you a 'bonus' at the end of the month. It should be there to start with. |

Execution was the only mode I ever played since Gears 1.. Why the hell does that description make it sound like it's a special new mode. That is the exact same rules as it's always been.
Not only that this shit is probably already on the disc. So many sheeps will eat it up like grass. |

No DBNO, no execution or guardian... at least the casuals will have some fun.
Gone are the days when companies actually cared about their original, core audience. Now it's about making things as easy as possible. Sacrifice everything for profit. Release 'DLC' when it's already on the disc and charge people for it.
This industry is going down the shitter in terms of integrity. |
