| @1 I've love that, but I don't think they will. Outside of Mario there's been no real call for 3D platformers. Then again, there was really no call for 2D platformers outside of Mario either, yet Rayman Legends did very well, so who knows? I for one would certainly buy it. |

I hope Sunset Overdrive is new IP Platformer. But I don't think so, so I think It is might be something to with islands, jungles and beach with action or shooter in there or maybe something to do with action driving on beach, by seas or something else. Possible Overdrive is something that Sunset is in danger. Lol I do hope new platformer IP but if not will be nice they bring another new IP just like they did with FUSE. I hoping FUSE turn out well. I loved Spyro and Ratchet series from Insomniac. Look forward to see what Sunset Overdrive is like. :) |

The posters of NeoGAF are just pathetic. What kind of loser peruses patent filings trying to find minor tidbits that mean literally nothing? Also, unintelligent Callum has pointed out that Rayman Legends was pointlessly held back. MS has a policy that makes it extremely difficult to get a game released on the 360 if it was released on another system previously. That's why Legends was pushed back when it's finished for Wii U. That, and considering there's no one that owns a Wii U companies aren't really going to give a fuck about staying on their good side. Oh no they lost 1,000 sales? Who cares? |

@7 - Actually, yes I do. Rayman Legends was a Wii U exclusive title. It was supposed to be released very soon, and was shaping up to be one of the first killer titles for the Wii U. Developers had to pour many hours, and give up a lot of time to finish the game off, only to be told in the final hours that release will be postponed until the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions could come out. They could have told them sooner, and allowed development to be spread across a few more months, which would have pleased the developers and their families. They could also have told everyone that the game wasn't really an exclusive title, which would have saved them from acting dishonest towards the Wii U community. This Microsoft policy; could I possibly see some proof of it? I've never heard about it. It would also mean some kind of magic must have happened to get many of the Arcade games we have. Nobody has bought a Wii U, yet it has sold plenty. Has each one been traded back in, I wonder... So, from all that we've learned that Rayman Legends was pointlessly held back, and I think I've done O.K here, though it was a struggle to do with my complete lack of intelligence. |

The developers are not very sad to have finished the game and then not have it release. The Wii U is selling terribly and the thing has no hype at all. Releasing a game on it is a death sentence as any level-headed person can understand. "Gamers" like to look at things with rose-colored glasses and think that because they like the Wii U it's doing well. It's not. The developers are also likely happy that all their hard work put into making this game amazing will be experienced by many more players now. Thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands, more players will experience the hard work of these developers. I would be ecstatic if I were a developer and so would you. I used hyperbole when I said no one owned a Wii U. I'm sure you knew that. The MS policy was mentioned years ago by some anonymous developers. I'm sure it's confidential. It does make sense though. There's very few retail releases that are not out first on the 360 if they ever are released on the 360. There's only two reasons for them to delay Legends. One, the game is horrible and all the negativity would kill sales on the other platforms. Considering the first one was held in very high regard and the videos they've shown make this appear to be as good or better, that's probably not the case. Thus, MS or Sony forcing them not to release on the Wii U now is the only reason. There's literally no other reason to delay. They certainly didn't delay it to punish the Wii U owners or make them mad. They don't even care about Wii U owners (which is why they're spending money to try to salvage the incredible loss they would have suffered having this as Wii U exclusive - this is evidenced by the fact that originally it was exclusive and they thought that would generate the most sales per dollar spent). |
