Bugbear Entertainment's "Next Car Game" Looks a Lot Like FlatOut

Next Car Game (working title)

FlatOut and Ridge Racer: Unbounded developer Bugbear Entertainment has released fresh footage from a brand new racing title.

Imaginatively referred to as Next Car Game, the video is reminiscent of the FlatOut series, featuring bust up old trucks and cars smashing the crap out of each other.

"We're making a new car game," said Bugbear on the game's website. "This time we're going back to our roots - just like all of our fans have been asking us to do! If you like what you see above, you're going to love it. It's all in-game footage!"

Things is, despite the similarities, it’s unlikely that Next Car Game will turn out to be a FlatOut title, as Bugbear no longer owns the license. We may be in “spiritual successor territory" here.

Either way, until the game picks up a proper name, you can watch the vid below and check out the game’s official website here.

No platforms or release windows have yet been announced.

	The impacts in this video look amazing. If this is in game footage like the dev says I'm thinking it may even be next gen. The best damage effects I've seen this gen are from DIRT and these look even better! Only time will tell, nice to see what seems to be an old school smash em up car game though.

	I love the FlatOut games and I also liked Ridge Race Unbounded as that was really just another FlatOut game. Can't wait to see more of this they make great racers with great action.

	Flatout series was a great game to hit the shit out of cars and to race, too. Loved that series, destruction derby series, and test drive: eve of destruction. 4 of my friends and I used to race on Flatout:UC MP several years ago. Good times.

	FlatOut series is good franchise and it is need returns. New Racing IP game will be nice. Ridge Racers Unbounded is disappointed racing game last year. Weren't pleased with Bugbear decided and developed it but let hope next racing title going back from what FlatOut series were or new IP having great racing either. :)

	Original FlatOut for PC was the shit. Kickass music and awesome tracks. Where is this type of game now? Society? Hello?

	Awesome, I think I still have a FlatOut game knocking around somewhere. Fell in love with it on the original Xbox and have been a fan ever since, love the crazy minigames, the bumper to bumper racing and the epic smash ups! Can't wait for this successor!
