I didn´t play it on PC, should do it now to get atleast the achievements before servers will close, sadly.
But it´s 2007 game on PC, aren´t there dedicated servers?! |

| @GeneralGranko Yes there is. Users can set up their own servers or just play P2P. They were going to shut down support to browse for those servers, and there's no other way to connect to them. |

Whatever happened to bots huh? GOW3 has them and they're pretty cool. Not as good as the most average player but still okay. At least you can still play the game once all the real people are gone or you just want an offline game. |

I don't play this game, but, for the sake of those that still do, however many there may be, I wish you the best of luck in 343's search for new solutions. With the way EA cockslaps their online fanbase on a yearly basis, seeing a company take steps like this to attempt to retain online servers for a six-year-old game really brings a smile to my face.

@2, 10 you can create your own server, in fact every server is a user created one can also do p2p, problem is the one there shutting down is the master one that allows you to find the other servers all in one place, why are they doing this, well because the game is dead online
if the number of people online reaches 20 at any time i'b be shocked and probebly no more than 200 people a day, ea closes games down when they have like 100 times that number :D |

Good News! I'm one of the few still playing this.
@13 if they made a Halo 2: Anniversary they'd probably fuck it up and put the MP in a halo 4 map pack like they did with CE and Reach :( |

Every time I went online in last 4 weeks been more than 20!!!!
More like 60-80ppl minimum.
Atleast 20+ servers either full or half pop |

And maybe they are pushing the date back so that they can release halo 2 anniversary just as the servers for the PC are done in...

| Hopefully the servers may even stay up longer than June if they're investigating 'further support options'. Glad to see that 343 are trying so hard to please the community and the Halo fans, I'm doubtful we'd ever see this kind of server life extension from EA for any of their games.. |

@29, the games are rarely laggy for me, and hackers get booted and banned from servers, so I'm not sure if you've actually played Halo 2 PC online or not.
Anyway, I just got the final achievement tonight(Scarab Gun), so I don't have to worry about the servers shutting off anymore. I'm glad thy extended them though. The game is still much more fun to play than Reach or 4, so I'll still play it from time to time. Hopefully by June they will let people host their own servers after the shutdown.

This is possibly the best news I've heard all night. Now I just need to:
A) fix my computer so Halo will run without giving me an error saying it can't run
or
B) get a new computer to play it on. |
