Alone In The Dark and Wall-E Demos Hit XBLM

Alone In The Dark and Wall-E Demos Hit XBLM
Written Monday, August 04, 2008 by Jason Debelyak

Major Nelson revealed today that two brand new demos hit the Xbox Live Marketplace in all regions today:

  • Alone in the Dark, the action game from Atari, weighs in at 1.35 GB.
  • Wall•E, the game based off of the Pixar mvie, somehow takes up even more space at 1.44 GB.

If either game interests you, they're now available to download, so have at it.  However, if we see you playing Wall•E when it's not for achievements, we may just have to laugh at you.

Fun. Not like I'd be buying both, but I'll try the demos.

Alone in the Dark has to be candidate for worst game of the year. I died in the middle of a cutscene last time I played it.

I have to see first hand how bad Alone in the Dark is.

And I'm interested in Wall-E. Could be fun co-op.

The demo is NOT going to help Alone in the Dark. After going through the whole thing I can honestly say it's the best worst game I've ever played. A very strange experience from start to finish teetering from awesome to terrible from one moment to the next.

can i just ask what is that wrong with AITD? I played the demo and sure, its a little frustrating at times, but theres nothing that wrong with it, shame the driving scene was cut, though

Already done with WallE. Might try the Alone demo, but not right now.

@flippy

The problem with AITD is that it's just broken and buggy like no released game should be. A couple more months on character control would have resolved a lot of problems. It's one of those things you have to see to believe and if you or anyone else has the chance to rent it and can suffer past chapter 2 I recommend it.

I was actually going to buy AITD but I rented it and realized what a mistake it would have been. Wall-E might just be for achievements for me depends but people on my list thinks all kid games are easy point, but Open Season was tougher than they thought, Wall-E might be a rent for me unless a better game is up for renting.

Poll

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
