| DmC not being a particularly interesting hack n slash gameplay wise, MGR looking dull and Omerta being shat all over has really opened the door for Aliens: CM to enter my library sometime soon. It can wait though. |

| Aliens: Colonial Marines possesses an official interquel plot, set between Aliens (2) and Alien³. Prometheus (movie) on the other hand is a prequel to all of them, including the Predator films, and will have a sequel in the near future, to connect itself reasonably to Alien (1). |

I've heard awful things about Aliens from people who got it early, and reviews are embargoed until release day. Not looking good.
Hopefully they're just moaning and it'll be good, but I really doubt it. Not surprising from Gearbox, either. |

Also, Omerta reviewed terribly. There's a demo on PC and it's not great, just stick with XCOM. It's basically Mafia Wars the Facebook game.
Disappointing week, Omerta and Aliens could've been good. |

Ok looks like Ginga Force is definitely Region Free as Siliconera referenced an official announcment via their Twitter page (not that I can read it as its in Japanese): http://www.siliconera.com/2012/08/27/xbox-360-shooter-ginga-force-is-region-free/ ...plus it was kinda expected as their previous shmup Eschatos was also region-free. ;)

I find it worrying that theres no reviews for Aliens: Colonial Marines. I just read 1 online (the only 1 I could find) and it got a bit of a slating before being pulled from the site after only 2 hours.
I'm prepared to be disappointed... |

| @11, It's Platinum Edition, not Collection. It's Microsoft's answer to Sony's Greatest Hits line. All it really means is it sold a ton of copies, the stripe at the top of the box will be platinum instead of white, and would have a price tag of $29.99 if sold in America. The developer might throw in some extra stuff, but I wouldn't hold my breath. |

| Why is Gearbox so hit or miss lately? They either make something that's great, or seething that is straight shit. You'd think that they would keep their winning formula in place. As they say in the dropship in Aliens, "I gotta bad feeling about this one". |

| Aliens is unlikely to be a triple A title, true. It's been in multiple different developers hands, and delayed more times than an old lady doing a marathon. Can't possibly be as bad as Duke Nukem though...right? |

| I wouldn't necessarily fear the worst that there's been no reviews so far. I remember something similar happened with gta 3 and it turned out to be a pretty top game. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the collectors edition. And even if it's not great i'll still have the powerloader to play with! |

| Finally Aliens: Colonial Marines arrives tomorrow but got game today from shopto.net so I will play it once I complete playthrough in Dead Space 3 as well get many achievements out of way then play Aliens. :P |

Aliens is Better than Duke Nukem but worse than Borderlands.
It was pretty mediocre, but I think Alien fans might enjoy it more. Also the MP is the best thing about it, which is a little unfortunate. |

| Played the MP of Aliens at Eurogamer last year - was fun although it did seem that the Xenomorphs had a clear advantage over the marines as they were winning every match. Hopefully that's something that's been balanced before release though. |
