| @5 if you bothered to read the full article you would see fiscal, being the key word, means April 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014. So chances are it will appear fall 2013 meaning only a one year lapse since AC3. Even if it comes out by 2014 they're still milking what they can in a short time span. I think I'm done with the series. |

Ummm...didn't the ending of 3 kind of makes this hard to do? The only thing I can think of is that they are going to drop the whole Desmond plotline. Wouldn't make sense in a new AC title. I liked part three until the end. It was a bit anti climatic for me. |

WTF?!!!! Ubisoft said they want AC series take break for few years that explains last year. I don't like AC series anymore since it is release every years and repeats like CoD. That is ok because it is useful for achievements. :) AC II is alway best of series of AC but after that is dusts series but still enjoyed series of AC for story and achievements. Well interesting to see new developer studios behind Ubisoft and new setting in AC. I hope it show good and better then AC 1, AC III and 2 outside of main series: AC Brotherhood and Revelations. :D |

I'm starting to see more and more people justly complaining about the overabundance of sequels. What I'd like to see now is a sequel to a successful franchise flop so horribly that it sends the industry a very clear message. Problem is, these sequels keep inexplicably doing better and better, despite the flak. |

| Eh, I didn't like AC3 all too much, because to be honest, it just felt like there was not much to do. Same problem I had with AC:R... it took me so long to finish everything in AC:B and then AC:R and AC3 had next to nothing to do just around the area. They're focusing more on the multiplayer now and less on more to do in the singleplayer. |

So why make another game? I'm sure Ubisoft can come up with more games. Same goes for Epic and Activision. |

So if Fiscal year 2014 means any time between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014, that means will have a new Assassins Creed by October...again! Gosh, I'm so sick of this game! No matter if we leap a few years forward or backward, we will get the same boring game we last enjoyed in Assassins Creed II. I think they should stop launching these games every year and return a few years later with something (really) new. |

I see what they're doing. They're going to give us a new 2012 character! Then they'll give us "3 numbered games" with this new character, which will actually mean 9 more games, since they want to give each character a trilogy. And of course they want to make the whole 2012 thing a "trilogy" in the Ubisoft sense, so they'll kill the second 2012 character and give us a third one! Out of which we'll get "3 numbered games", which, again, will actually mean 9 games! Ubisoft does love their idea of a trilogy. Y'all ready for Assassin's Creed for the next 18 years?! Because before this is over, there'll be 23 installments! Ubisoft wants to complete their trilogy! |

In all seriousness, I'm like just about everyone else here. I loved Assassin's Creed. When the first one debuted, I was just enthralled and heralded it as the new Prince of Persia (I fucking loved Prince of Persia). The game left a great taste in my mouth, and I couldn't wait for the sequel after the tasteful tease at the end of the first one. It digested well for 2 years, and by the time Assassin's Creed II was kicking around, I was so ready. And I loved that game. In a way, it was unrecognizable from the first, but only in that it took the original concept and made it something completely new. So much new content, and the game was ten times more engaging than I remembered the first to be! And then that spring, rumors of more Assassin's Creed coming got me psyched. I was still playing II, trying to finish everything up. I sunk many hours into it, and finally got all the collectables, and put the game down finally around the beginning of summer - I had planned to eventually go back, like I do with most games. Then Brotherhood came out - a direct sequel to II, and I viewed it as more of an expansion pack. Okay, more Assassin's Creed...I just finished up the last one a few months ago, but I'm cool with this. The last one was good enough to warrant more. So I played through Brotherhood, and again, I was playing it up until Spring 2011. However, the multiplayer pushed me a bit past that, and I was playing the game into the summer. And then the DLC started coming out, so I was playing it through the summer (yeah, I take a long time with my open-world single player games). I finally put it down for a while around August, but I didn't even manage to snag all of the achievements. There was so much to this game already, and DLC pushed it to the limits. So I put it down. I already knew Revelations was coming, and I'd probably never go back to Brotherhood. And I still wanted to reexperience II at some point. So then Revelations came. I felt like I just played this game. Nonetheless, I played through the single player in a few days' time. My thoughts were that Brotherhood was better, and II was legendary. The settings and plots were getting successively weaker with each installment. Revelations was where I really fell off the wagon with this franchise. The game came out too fast, and didn't give me enough time to enjoy the previous installment. It left a bad taste in my mouth and I didn't even touch multiplayer or the DLC. I JUST played through the main quest and that's it. So with that all said, I wasn't very keen on Assassin's Creed III. After II, I was eagerly awaiting a setting and character change. I thought the games couldn't get any better! After Revelations, I thought that even a character and setting change couldn't get me that engaged in this series again. I realized that I was right - these games really weren't getting any better. I got Assassin's Creed III and I played it that first night. And then I switched back to Halo. For a long time. Until the end of December, I put off Assassin's Creed III. And then I finally forced myself to beat it. Just the main quest again. Because I was right. A setting change didn't get me much more engaged. Somewhere along the way, my desire to reexperience ACII died. It was replaced by an utter contempt for the annualization of this franchise. Brotherhood was the ideal cadence for Ezio. It felt warranted. Revelations was the one step too far. And so far, ACIII has proven to be another step too far. I want to love these games. Stop putting them out so fast that it seems like I JUST beat the last one when the new one comes out. Make it so that my memory of the previous installment is hazy and happy! I'm fed up. |

Just whose fiscal year are they talking about? April 1st to March 31st is the fiscal year in Japan. It's different in the US and I don't know about Montreal (the studio) or France (where Ubisoft's HQ is). Personally I'd rather NOT see one this calendar year for many of the reasons listed above. ^ oops! Meant to say: LOVED AC2 and Brotherhood. Then Revelations came out and I was so disappointed. Just the same game with a different background essentially. Started AC3 - same problem. They need to space out their game releases and add a lot of new features - it becomes a bit repetitive after a while. |

People complaining that it comes out every year are the ones who buy it every year. Over saturation only happens if you play them! I skipped Brotherhood and Revelations and just went straight from 2 to 3. Sure 3 was fairly samey, but they stick with what they know. I liked 3 because I hadn't played AC for years. I'd suggest some of you do the same. |

I was OK with the whole Assassin's Creed series until Revelations. The Desmond puzzles were tiresome and boring. I was so completely excited about Assassin's Creed III that I pre-ordered it and played it on the first day of release. Then, like someone else who posted here, I dropped it for about two months until finally, just recently, I decided to go back to finish the campaign. By the middle of memory three I was extremely disgusted at myself for falling for the hype and purchasing this game. The American Revolution was the absolute wrong setting for this series and I cannot see them redeeming themselves with yet an another release. I am with you @3... YAWN |
