Upcoming DLC for Aliens: Colonial Marines has been outed in some promotional material for the game.

The news comes via a photo advertising a game mode called Bug Hunt, as posted in the Gearbox forums.

“Team up with your friends to take on waves of increasingly difficult enemies in an all new game mode,” says the description. It’s Horde mode then.

According to the ad, Bug Hunt will be available to download from March 19th, for $14.99.

Aliens: Colonial Marines is out next week.

  • First Horde mode for aliens? yes please....
  • Will this game have split screen co-op campaign? My friend's coming over next week, it'd be so much fun
  • Shouldn't really be charging 15 dollars extra for an unoriginal game mode included in most games for free. Sign of the times I guess
  • How I love when developers announce DLC before the game is even released.
  • Agree with #3; this mode really should be included on the disc. Ho hum. She certainly does.
  • Sounds great, except for the 1200 MSP part.
  • @2 It does, only reason I'm getting :D Although it's noted as drop-in drop-out coop, so second player may not get achievements.
  • So that's what they meant calling it Whored Mode in Saints Row: The Third.
  • Sounds good but it shouldn't be DLC so in that case, they can ram it up their arse!
  • @3 Agreed. I'm getting sick of game companies doing stuff like this i.e. rushing out unfinished games full of bugs that they may or may not release a patch for at a later date, day 1 DLC etc. It wasn't that long ago when a company released a game they new it had to be a complete finished product as there was no such thing as releasing a patch for a console game or DLC etc. 15 bucks for an extra mode, sorry but they won't be getting my money. That said, the game should be awesome, and I'm seriously thinking about picking up a copy.
  • Wait, doesn't Aliens already HAVE a survival mode? :/
  • I'm guessing there's no achievements for this mode then? Can't justify the msp if not. I prefer to have something to work towards if I'm shelling out extra cash.
  • Should really be in the game, crap it's been cut out to sell separately.
  • A bit expensive, 800. Points maybe at a push would be ok
  • It's sad that they are doing it like this. You'd think that the amount of time they've had to develop the game, there are no excuses for all basic game modes not to be included on the disc. Oh well, probably won't get this day 1 now, but still get it at some point.
  • "Team up with your friends to take on waves of increasingly difficult enemies in an all new game mode" - Horde is an all new game mode??? I was not aware of this...
  • Wait, I thought this was already in the game? Seems like it should be, anyway, something so basic.
  • it looks like a slave mart exclusive right? So it's just a preorder incentive. Sounds fishy either way.
  • Hold on, isn't there already a horde mode in the game? Survivor mode I believe it is called
  • Also included within the Bug Hunt DLC: Intro to the game Ending to the game And the all new " Chapter Select" option. I for one am getting annoyed with day one DLC announcements. I'll be passing on this.
  • OK, this should be on the disc. More than almost every other DLC I've ever seen.
  • That's weird I was just my local Walmart Tuesday night and didn't see anything for Bug Hunt. They had pre-order cards that offered a Vudu movie credit of $4.99 when you pre-ordered but that was it.
  • I love how when EA does this they are the worst publisher in the world but every other publisher/dev are doing the same exact thing. There was a time when a game was released n there was no mention of dlc for 2+ months. Now it seems to be the norm to either announce dlc b4 the game is out or have day 1 dlc.
  • Another fine example of a company trying to milk the customers, and sadly the idiots will follow to support this practice by picking up the DLC. Its no wonder why I'm increasingly losing interest in videogaming these last few years.
  • Only at walmart? I think they have it wrong... it'll probably be available over xbox live if not any where else.
  • This mode was part of the AVP game. It is likely to be similar. Was awesome!
  • Keep in mind that this is Gearbox and they've been complete twats about the Borderlands 2 DLC. Up to and including discounting the season pass before all of the DLC tied to it had been released. Do not buy this shit. And if you must have it, know that they will discount it in fairly short order.
  • I think if this is true it's down to SEGA and not Gearbox as it's the publisher who makes these kinda decisions and pricing. I'd also wait until an official announcement before shouting about it. Look at the wording "$14.99 value" comes across that it's a free incentive that they believe is worth $15. I may be wrong but that's how i read it
  • @25 I think it means you will get a redeemable code for the Bug Hunt DLC if you buy the game at Wal-Mart, and that the deal is exclusive to Wal-Mart. The DLC doesn't release until March 19th though.
  • The way things are going, DLC will end up being announced before the game itself is announced. Next week's headline: "Coming soon, firefight mode DLC for Halo 5"
  • @30 exactly! And tiger woods 2020 is going to charge $1 every time you wana hit a shot.... :p
