The most disturbing ever? So, why isn't it in the game? EA's microtransaction milking makes me sick. If they sold Dead Space 3 for $20, then all the extra costs wouldn't be as bothersome. What's worse? Is that people will pay for this crap. I'm not cheap, if I see value in DLC, I buy it. But, now that it's becoming a business model where $60 only gets you half a game, it's ridiculous. |

| Always love the fact that people complain why wasn't with the game on day1. Games can be finished for a month before release, and in most cases dlc is meant to lengthen a games lifespan. So complain all you want, doesn't mean you have to buy it. Just glad some companies do show us gamers some respect and support the games after release. |

| I agree with #12 if the DLC isn't on the disc it obviously isn't ready, do the people complaining not now that a month is a long time. Also the other alternative would be to have the game delayed by a month to have this on the disc and we don't want that. |

@4 "Half the game"? Polygon's first playthrough clocked in at about 20 hours (think he said around 22). How is that substandard for a single player campaign? Then there are 3-4 additional modes unlocked after beating the game, each probably taking 10-15 hours. So we're looking at 60 hours to complete this game. How much game do you need? |

Its like when Capcom disc locked all the colors and outfits in Street Fighter X Tekken got caught and tried to justify something that unjustifiable. |

@16 Half the game is locked? There are some missions with Carver you can play if you're in coop, thats not "Half the game". First people complain because Coop is "ruining" a single player game, and now people are complaining because they won't see the coop story they didn't want in the first place. Visceral can't win. @17 Yes! Hate EA! That stupid publicly traded company shouldn't be about placating their shareholders and making money! They should give everything away as charity! Don't pay the devs, don't pay the people working at EA! Give it all away for free! |

| Why do people seem to think that games are literally finished the day before its released? They don't just finish the game and then sit around playing cards for a month, they start work on something else. The people saying that this should be in the game are idiots, if it was ready it would either be on the disc or available day 1 as DLC, EAhave already proven that they are willing to do that with the day 1 Mass Effect DLC, people are just too determined to hate this game before giving it a chance. |

"Hey thanks for the money. We've got another $10 for you to give us in a month. See you then." Borderlands 2 did it right, by giving pre-orders free access to the Mechromancer. That's how this should be. |

@21 there is a difference between, benefiting your share holders and shitting on your customers. There is a happy medium, treat your customers well, and they'll happily invest in your company by buying your future products. But the way EA operates ATM is an absolute disgrace, if gaming had a governing body that deemed what was fair to the customers, and and unfair games were banned from public release like certain films, EA would be dead within a year. |

I bought Dragon Age 2 (It was definitely rushed, I won't deny that). Hell, I bought Syndicate. They're not shitting on me. I enjoy video games. I have no problem paying money for things I enjoy. In no way is this unfair to customers. Why? Because you don't need to buy it. This isn't a food market in the middle of nowhere, where you will starve if you can't afford the food. These are luxury items. The definition of non-essential. If you hate EA so much, stop posting and take your dollars elsewhere. I will happily enjoy my games from EA and continue to support them. |

When they said "working on actual DLC" I thought they meant it wasn't near completion. EA, if it's this close to being done, you have no excuse to not just have delayed it and put it in the game. This isn't what DLC is supposed to be. You have no idea what you're doing. I will be buying DS3 preowned from Gamefly and the DLC half price with Bing/XBLR points. I'm sorry Visceral, I like you, but I can't support your publisher for anything they do. |

SO MANY COMPLAINTS... Comes out DAY 1, people bitch; comes out a month from release people still bitch. Even though they definitely do not know what a development cycle is. Do people even understand that the game is finished and certified months before release? How long do think it should take for them to make millions of copies to sell to retailers. Not to mention shipping and logistics. It's not like the devs at Visceral are going to sit on their ass after the game is sent off to be pressed into shiny discs for sale. They get going on making sure the fans are happy with more content. It's not like you won't be busy enough playing this game as it is... Dead Space has never been a quick run through type game. Some of you may finish your first playthrough within the week, some may take you into the next month. Either way, a new DLC will be here soon. Because, by the way, I doubt that DLC is finished either. Delaying a game just to add in a couple more hours of content? What a freakin joke that is... |

@33 BOOOOM! You nailed it. The whole comment you made, it sums up not only my feelings on DS3 (a series that I have faithfully supported since day1 w/ DS1), but also the reality of the DS3 situation. That IS what is happening. I am tired of the blind faith followers, ignorantly defending the shift in tone EA/VG made to the game, and have commented on many times. The original DS fans have a reason to be iffy with this game, we have been pushed to the side in favor of the people who did not find DS1/DSe/DS2 fun, and in fact, they found the past DS games "too scary" ... The first thing I thought when I read this was, NOW they are trying to make it sound like a creepy horror game. What a bunch of BS. |

@29 I get that you enjoy games as you can probably tell just by looking to the left of this post that I do to. But if you honestly have no issues with EA business model as a customer, I think you need to get your head checked. Granted this particular portion of Dead Space news is not too bad, bad but EA in general are all about money and don't care about what they do to achieve it, the reason they get away with it is because they have pretty much bought all of the top franchises and studios, so there is little to no actual competition. If a low level publisher were to treat it's customer's like human beings and not just wallets then they would grow really quickly but in the current economic climate, it's not going to happen. A prime example of someone with a similar model to EA backfiring is the recent closing of THQ, they just didn't have high enough quality franchises and studios behind them to get away with it. his is my final post in this thread as all the Dead Space three news articles just anger me. |

DLC released this soon should be a bonus for those who buy the game new. Like a code sheet inside new copies, just like they did with Alan Wake. Get the game used? No problem, but it will cost you 800 points. Got the game new? Merry Christmas, have it for free, and thanks for being a good customer. |

Devs have managed to build complete games up until this generation, they should be still able to do this. Probably the content wasn't ready when the game released. That might be so but why release the game/ go into post production when not all the content intended is ready? Of course to get some extra bucks. They have a clear layout of content that eventually will be in the game and cut of as much as they think they can get away with for DLC. It doesn't really matter, when its produced, if before or after release. They never intended to give that content away without an extra charge. For that matter, I don't really understand the hate that Capcom is recieving, since other companies do the same. They probably don't already pack the content on disc but I bet that a lot of times content is already done and ready and just laying at developers harddrives to be released. Release date seems like just a random date where the publisher decides it would be best from an economic standpoint to release the game, it has nothing to do with development progress. There is just a lay out of content and what you're supposed to get with the game and what you pay for and it actually makes no difference if you have it already on the disc or laying on servers somewhere or still worked on |

I mean, I did pay for the whole game. @Everyone defending this bullshit: I direct your attention to Assassin's Creed II. The achievement list goes "Completed DNA Sequence 10", "Completed DNA Sequence 11", "Completed DNA Sequence 14". When asked about this the developer freely admitted that they were going to miss their release date so they skipped to the end. DNA Sequence 12 and 13 were then sold as DLC for 320 points each. THEY RELEASED AN UNFINISHED GAME, CHARGED US FULL PRICE AND THEN CHARGED US AGAIN WHEN THEY GOT AROUND TO FINISHING IT! |

"The most disturbing ever? So, why isn't it in the game? " Intentional ploy to get people to spend more money. Standard business practice for EA. Most definitely a "yank from the pre-gold code and upload later" kind of thing, certainly proven by factoring in Microsoft's certification period for anything they charge MSP for. |

| Any game not made by EA and Activision that comes out with DLC quickly, and people are excited. But when they do it, it's because they're milking the game and they're dicks for not including it to begin with. Grow up people. The micro transactions are completely optional and are only in the game for lazy people who don't want to play properly. You don't have to pay to unlock levels, only to get guns faster if you don't want to gather resources. They wouldn't be in the game if it wasn't for lazy gamers in the first place. @37 No, THQ went bankrupt because they bet the bank on uDraw tablets and they massively underperformed (To the tune of a loss of 100mil IIRC) Also, I think a poster called me a cock? Seriously? Can't we have an enlightened discussion without resorting to name calling? They're video games people. EA releasing optional content is not milking anyone. If content starts to be locked out to a paying consumer then I might start getting upset, but until that point, I will continue to support companies that make great games. (Online passes do not lock out content to people who pay money to the people who made the game. If you buy used to save $5, that's not EA's fault. Renting games is an unfortunate victim of the current way the system works, and will be irrelevent in a few years anyways when all the content companies go fully digital.) |

I preordered Dead Space 3 when it was first announced and like many I had my doubts. After Warfighter, EA has left a really bad taste in my mouth, so I decided to wait before I pick this one up. This was the first new game in over 4 years that I didn't pick up Day 1 simply because I wanted to see what everyone elses reaction would be. Seems like people are fighting over it, relatable points on both sides. From what I can tell so far if you play the game solo, you're in for a repetitive, boring, experience that barely resembles the finer plot points and narrative structure one would expect to find within a Dead Space game. If you play CO-OP, you're in for a better experience. I don't know if I half expected this or not, but I know what I'll be doing with my preorder, moving it to another game, maybe Lego Marvel Super Heroes. |

DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT THEY JUST THOUGHT "OH LETS ADD MICROTRANSACTIONS TO THE GAME BUT DONT THIN DOWN THE RESOURCES TO MAKE THEM MORE ATTRACTIVE!!" I DONT THINK MANY OF YOU HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT MAKING MONEY!! THAT SYSTEM DIDNT HAPPEN OVER NIGHT. What if they spent that time making the gameplay better? Fixing those copycat controls and copycat action, terrible voice acting and graphics? And dont think that Visceral splitting up it's asset's/resources to get 2 games (ARMYOFTWO) out in the same quarter didnt have an adverse affect on Deadspace. On the plus side; I've now got the time and money to let EA rob me blind in Battlefield3. I cant believe that the same options we got just 5 years ago are now on 'rented servers'. Soon it'll be needed for coop. |

| Kinda wish they had that disturbing content in the game, because obviously its well known for not being very scary :( |

What I hate most about EA, is that i'll bitch and moan all day long. And then i'll buy all their products and DLC. They have some sort of hold on me. I'm so weeaaaakkkk :'( |

| Well, i love this game series and i will most likely buy the DLC. Regardless, #32 is absolutely right. They are trying to keep their franchise alive. MOST game series barely make it past the 2nd game succesfully. And i as a fan am more than happy to pay a little hard earned money for more software for a Game I ENJOY! even if its boosting EA's greedy pockets.. :D |

| another reason why EA sucks, they announce a dlc on launch basically telling you hey we just draining $60 from you but did not give you the complete game we left out some chapters so we can fuck you out of more money for shit that should have been in the game already. |
