Call of Duty: Black Ops II Gets Double XP This Weekend

The Message of the Day in Call of Duty: Black Ops II has revealed that this weekend will see the advent of double XP for a few days, starting from January 25th at 10am PST until January 28th 10am PST.

"We’re less than a week away from the January 29th release of Revolution, the first DLC Map Pack for Black Ops 2. To get you ready for the action that’s to come, we’re hosting a Double XP weekend, beginning on Friday, January 25 (10am/PST) and running through Monday, January 28 (10am/PST)," reads the message.

"Whether you’re an Xbox 360, PS3, PC or Wii player, warm-up your skills, all while earning twice the amount of XP."

Call of Duty: Black Ops II's Revolution Map Pack will be out on January 29th for 1200 Microsoft Points, or with the 4000 MSP Season Pass. Here's a video of Peter Stormare playing a bloke who'll fill in for you while you're playing it.

Any word on the Revolution achievements? I hope it's 250g for each DLC instead of 150g or any other random number the devs can think of.

Yes it makes perfect sense for once. If you have double xp, you want to maximize how much you get out of it, You are not going to achieve that on new maps while you are learning them. Sure you could just play only the maps you know, but if you have the pack you are going to want to play the new maps for sure.
Also, It is usually a double xp weekend, and dlc is not released on weekends. So usually the map pack would be out and we would get it the following weekend after the freshness and excitement of the DLC had already worn off. Getting it before is a welcomed change, Adds fun and hype to build up its release.

Would it be considered boosting if the 6 or so people who have this on the Wii played one another repeatedly, all weekend?

I like double XP weekends, but other than the 1 or maybe 2 achievements tied to the multiplayer, I have no care for it. Might just use it to unlock an achievement then shove the game back at the bottom of the pile and play something else instead.

I got prestige master months ago. But I hope the zombie achievements are good. The series is stale. But the only ones that actually hate it just suck at it. "Man I got swarm and dogs. This game sucks so much" LOL yeah right bad kids

This is going to be even better than Christmas noobs! *Everybody* who sucks at the game, or thinks they couldn't rank up fast enough, or get the right gear yet, will all flock on. Easy pickings. CoD haters aside, Black Ops 2 is a huge improvement for the series.

Oh, and I can't emphasize enough, how much I love seeing Karl Hungus as the spokesman. I can't use his real name anymore, I always think of his role in Lebowski or.. Bad Boys 2.
