As long as I still get Metro and Darksiders, I'm happy. THQ has been BSing us with DLC for their last few games. And I love Saints Row, but after the third game, I'm really not looking forward to another unless they try to make it more like the first or second game. |

| Please SOMEONE buy Darksiders, I don't care what anyone says DS and DSII were one of the best games I played in a awhile, and whilst it's sales weren't that high, this reminded me of the days where gaming sales weren't such a boundary for game success, it was all about having fun, being immersed and kicking some mohterf****** ass, oh and the Zelda like similarites made this game that much better, someone Please buy it!! |

Please let Darksiders go to good home. It will need to be taken good care of. And for the Saints Row franchise i'm really excited to see what another studio could do with it. Especially after Saints Row The Third... which was a big disappointment for me. Space Marine must live on !!! FOR THE EMPEROR ! |

Koch wouldn't be a bad fit for Volition, they're really getting behind their Dead Island products and promoting them well. Ubi getting South Park is going to be difficult. South Park Studios announced that they're suing THQ, stating that they're in breach of their contract and don't have the right to auction off South Park:SOT and that the rights should revert back to SPS. While I completely understand their stance and agree with their claim, this won't be good for us gamers if the game sits completed while a messy court drama unfolds. |

All jokes aside, I'm surprised EA and/or Acivision aren't trying to buy anything. With the amount of money their published (and developed) games turn in on a yearly basis, you would think they would be first in line. Whatever happens, I just hope all games in development go somewhere safe and the development doesn't take a turn for the worse because the new publisher doesn't like something. |

Any word on Who Acquired WWE, last I heard Ubisoft was eyeing it, but if THQ gets it *shaking head* wrestling games will suck EA F-ed WCW games to hell & TNA wasn't impressive in the least. of course there's still Darksiders & Saint's Row, etc. Hopfully they'll find good homes to continue their sequels. Sad to see THQ die after all these years of great games. |

How the fuck, of all of their franchises, could Darksiders not have been picked up??? This is insane. One of, in my opinion, their best francises, and no one could be bothered to save it. Now it gets dissolved along with what's left of THQ. That is so beyond fucked, it's not funny. I swear, if this doesn't change, there's bigger problems with the industry as a whole. Unbelieveable. |

| Darksiders doesn't get dissolved. The creditors will own it. They'll sell it to someone eventually, assuming there's anyone who thinks the franchise has the possibility of making money (who knows, maybe it loses money - THQ did go bankrupt after all). |

@53 if THQ dont manage to sell virgil sometime soon (they do still have some chance even though it didnt go in the auction) then it will just die because they have sold it off like this and not to a single company it willjsut be dissolved along with whats left of THQ also to those asking about WWE, its not part of the sale, WWE owns the license not THQ so when this started it just reverted back to them though news currently is that its going to a major sports video game company thats not EA... s 2k probably if thats true |

OFFICIAL. Koch Media have bought METRO Francise for $5.8 Million. SEGA have got Relic studios Crytek has got Homefront Take 2 has Evolve Ubisoft have got South Park No One Has The WWE Games Yet Deep Silver has brought violation therefor they now own the Saints Row franchise. THQ HAS CLOSED FOREVER! |

Relic - Company of heroes - Sega $26.6 million THQ Montreal - 1666 and underdog - Ubisft 2.5 million Evolve (IP) - Take Two 10.8 Million Volition - Saints Row - Koch Media 22.3 million Homefront (IP) - Crytek $544218 Metro (IP) - Koch media 5.8 million South Park - Ubisoft 3.2 million all from the legal document from the hearing so official... some dirt cheap studios there... especially for ubisoft |

@53 - the creditors won't own shit. because the sales totalled more than $60 million. So THQ is finished. And so the creditor has no more rights to it than THQ does. As 55 said, if they don't find a buyer, Darksiders get liquidated with the remainder of THQ's assets. Also, funny that x60a lists this as "the full story". This is nothing even close to the full story. Since the news about Darksiders isn't even mentioned here. Lame site for new is still lame. Try harder to keep up, x360a. This is the real news that needs to be kept updated if you expect to be a relevant site for gaming news. |

| So what happens to the IPs that weren't sold/listed in the auction? Others have above have noted Darksiders, and I would add to that Titan Quest, Homeworld, and Red Faction (did this go with Volition to Koch?). Also, anyone know if THQ owned the IPs for the Double Fine games they published (Stacking, Costume Quest), or does Double Fine own them? |
|

Forum Posts: 1504 | Comment #63 by RDrules Wednesday, January 23, 2013 @ 04:19:11 PM | |
@62 the IPs i listed are the only ones confirmed as the legal document from the hearing states the studios as assets primarily for the publishing/marketing/ everything else long with that those IPs most of the other IPs will have been sold with their studios though just in the official documents it is just the primary usage of the assets aka their main IP WH40k will have reverted back to games workshop though for now but since sega already holds warhammer and they purchased relic as a whole they will probably get to keep hold of them on the publishing rights for the games already out like double fines THQ only held publishing rights so they will just be up to the individual studios t find new publishers |
