Meh. I thought the statue looked a bit tasteless, but nothing to really complain about.
Personally, I reckon some of the *Ahem* younger gamers went and asked their parents to buy it them, and it's the parents who took offence. Which is completely invalid, as their kids shouldn't be playing it anyway.
...But if the big fat quiz can get complaints for not being 'child-friendly' despite being shown after the watershed, nothing surprises me anymore. |

I'm willing to bet that anyone who says "wouldn't be a problem if it was a mans torso, stupid feminists blah blah" would be the sort of people who would probably be saying "HURR DURR That's such a gay statue, not buying that lol" if it was actually a male torso.
Whilst it's not offensive to me, it's typical pandering to the male videogame playing consumers. Fact of the matter is it's a terrible statue anyway, and should never have been even considered to be used as part of a collectors edition, unless you wanted to court publicity for a (on of the basis of the first game anyway) a mediocre game which probably won't sell anyway. |

@39, I can't speak for everyone else but I am completely secure about my sexuality, thus if it were indeed a man's torso that was cut up as a statue, I would regard it with the same consumer eye as I do this one.
I think the whole matter here is a lot different than just pandering to male videogamers (which I must admit, this statue does seem to be doing to a certain degree), it's an issue that extends far beyond this simple statue matter, and into feminism, political correctness, and social sensitivity. Basically all the issues nobody wants to talk about.

Horror buffs love this kind of "grotesque" stuff and I am sure that plenty of them would love this piece in their collections. Look forward this game so much and it is one of my most look forward of 35 important games this year. Cannot wait to play with my friend and work together through lots of quests, undergrounds, exploring around to killing stuffs to leveling up etc... Loved it just like we did whole Dead Island.
Collector's Edition look okay. I planned to preorder Bioshock Infinite and other game for collector's edition. I don't get every collector's edition for big games release like that but I alway get some every years though.

There wouldn't be any issue tbh if they had kept the head on, it'd of been something to look at then and something more likely to put up, but it's the fact that al there is to look at are boobs that's caused issues with people, and most likely allot of feminists.
It would of been a decent statue if it had the head, if it was male, then just the torso would of been rather boring to look at without the head. There's no sense of horror, no danger from it, just nothing to make you want it unless you want a torso like that :/
They should see about revising it to include the head, maybe an arm, but keep one of the arms missing. |

So people are complaining because of tits? Don't buy it if you don't like boobs. If you're gay, that's fine. This edition is obviously not for you, so you don't need to get your knickers in a twist. If you just want to spout shit about it being sexist, then bugger off because no-one cares and it obviously wasn't meant to offend you people.

| If it's just about it being exclusive to the UK and Australia, get a grip. Isn't it fair that we finally get something for ourselves? The U.S gets all of the contests, the "niche" games, games earlier in the week, better editions of the games, etc. Don't you think that for once, we should be allowed this stuff? |

Ppl saying "it's just a statue" must be morons. The statue is obviously invoking sexist and rape imagery. More the rape imagery then, "oh boobs." If you do not know what that is or why it could be offensive, then you either did not go to college or apart of the problem with this mentality of hate towards women. So much so, that you can't even see the other side of the argument. Whats wrong with a zombie statue that isn't a brutalized skin clad woman, that is called bait? Poor taste Deep Silver, and just wrong.
The issue is not one of "hey its has boobs," the issue is that it has subliminal messaging and allusions toward the rape of women. Women are the most effected demographic of violent sexual crime. Why do I have to explain this? |

| We talked about this is my Greek literature class today. Yes. Greek fucking literature. Our GSI connected it to what Plato said about how the things surrounding us can affect how we act. In other words, we had that dumb discussion on whether or not violent video games cause violence in humans. And I was the one who probably sounded like a madman because I was defending them and saying that video games have nothing to do with violent tendencies. While I think they could have come up with something less... vulgar, people who raised a huge deal over this are just stupid. Same with the people who destroyed violent video games in outrage over the school shooting. This all happens because self-righteous parents complain that this sort of stuff harms their kid, makes them violent, etc. when in actuality they are the ones who allowed their kid to play it in the first place. It's the parents job to determine what games their children play; not the kids, not the game companies, THEM. And those who bitch about the violence of video games are just hypocrites. |

I mean why do game companies make each continent have something different (ex: Injustice God Among Us, Euro status vs NA statue).
