Hope it turns out well, but I'm not holding my breath. MP wasn't needed, but if it is pulled off well, then this could be a serious contender for GOTY, IMO. |

Attention developers: EVERY GAME DOESN'T NEED MULTIPLAYER!!!! Bioshock, Assassins Creed, Uncharted, ect. And now Tomb Raider! We don't buy these games for the MP, so stop wasting resources on it! |

@9 No it doesn't - the story and single player has been developed by Crystal Dynamics, the multi-player by Eidos Montreal. I'd still prefer it not be there though - imho the financial resources that went into it would have been better placed being used for post launch support and story based dlc. |

I dont like that TR is having MP but "if" the MP is not reflected in the achievements and hampers your progress throughout offline (ME3) then I guess i'll be "ok" with it being there. Still don't like it though, just seems wrong and more than likely an easy way for the publisher to squeeze more money out of MP DLC. Games really are not what they used to be... I miss the late 90's :[ |

| @10 but surely the game has a set development budget, and putting mp in there has diverted funds/time from the single player, whether its a different studio or not. and having 2 different teams make 2 different parts of the game isn't usually a recipe for success, Medal of Honor really suffered for it. |

@9 Nope developed by a completely different studio. Personally i trust them to make it enjoyable, but I understand not all people won't MP in it, I myself am not a PvP kind of person, but I'll give it a shot and when I get bored I'll move on. Something I have noticed that over the years, gamers have become increasing closed minded when it comes to MP, I know this franchise is known for been SP, but this a reboot, so you have wipe out all preconceptions. No t all games that have MP in squeals are bad, Uncharted on the PS3 is awesome still, the Mass Effect Co-oP was fun for a while and something you can just pick up and play, Bioshock 2's MP was great IMO don't know why it gets so much hate and the AC MP is high in potential but the idiots that play are too used to the bum rush of most action games MP. That said like 1 said, they are not all success stories, spec ops been a prime example of that, and it also looks like God of War will follow suit. But don't let a few bad ones, put you off future releases. Also in closing some games manage to F up their sequels with adding MP, Dragon Age II for example, so MP isn't the ultimate evil. |

| Hey, so long as they don't take away from the single player, they can shoehorn it in if they want. Until it becomes COD, where the campaign is a balls-ass afterthought, cause they only thing they care about is MP, then, eh... whatever. Far Cry 3 was GOTY and it had MP. Haven't played MP, don't care to. Shit, I haven't even entered my online code yet. LOL! |

| If done properly like in Uncharted i def not have anything against the idea of Tomb Raider having MP. Okay i know the idea that devs seems to slam a MP into every game even those not need one is very common these days but hey i totaly enjoyed the MP part in Uncharted 2 & 3 the co-op for sure. Mabye time will tell if Tomb Raider,s MP will be just a good or not. |

Tomb Raider's MP will be empty by end of year when MW 4, BF 4 and other MP games ongoing later this year. Maybe not empty but small numbers of players to play MP in Tomb Raider since it is newer MP for Tomb Raider series so it is hard to tell if it is become less or more popular in later year. I really look forward for single-player campaign. I hope Tomb Raider have 5 or less then 5 online achievements or will be nice nothing just full of single-player achievements. :P |

| @26 If the MP is good like in some MP games like Uncharted then gamers still will come back to it and play it. Ofcourse the majority will go on and play the new BF4 and MW4, but i somehow prefer the 3th person shooters then those 1th person MP shooters, because there way to many around but as with all they probly will hit the top list places again like every time again at the game of the year awards. |

@14 No, BioShock 2 did not have great MP, it was the worst multiplayer ever created. If you were below level 30, you cannon fodder. Even then, it was just shock someone then headshot them the elephant gun or crossbow and you're dead. Then toss in the lag, the overpriced map pack you're not allowed to play if 1 single person doesn't have the DLC, and you have the perfect storm of bad multiplayer. |

@32 While shock and then headshot was the simplest (and most boring) way to kill people, there were loads of other ways to do well at the multiplayer. And as for you doing poorly before getting to level 30, I don't know what to say since I never had a problem doing well in the game. I lost some and won some, just like in every single other multiplayer game |

| so, I thought this was going to be co-op, like Guardian of Light, which is the game they used as inspiration and a testing ground. But, in this video, it seems more like vs multiplayer. Or am I not understanding it correctly? Although it seems ok from what I've seen in the video, I'd much rather have a co-op version, not a vs multiplayer version. Sigh, not every game "needs" to add a MP element to the game. |

"Tomb Raider Multiplayer Behind the Scenes Trailer Assures "It's Not Just an Add-On"" Yeah, I remember when Uncharted said that. And Mass Effect. And Grand Theft Auto. And Dead Space. And all the other games that have had completely shit tacked on multiplayer modes that shouldn't have been there. Tomb Raider MP exists for one reason and one reason only: so you can charge for online passes and map packs. |

@37 Right, if you really believe that then I want some of what you're smoking or taking, it's got to be some good stuff because, for one, every new copy of the game comes with an online pass, and only people who buy the game used would have to buy and online pass. Also, you don't seem to like MP in games, so don't play it, and you don't have to worry about buying an online pass and you can still enjoy the single player game. |

@ 32 I really don't care about your opinion of Bio2 MP. There are plenty of games I ca think of that have far worse MP than that. I actually enjoyed boosting it and playing it legit for a bit afterwards. This game's MP better turn out better than Bio 2 though. Let's hope so! |

Mass Effect's Multiplayer was just horde mode. Which isn't bad. AC3 added horde as well. Those modes can be fun, and most can be played in SP as well as co-op. It's the need for versus MP that pisses everyone off. |
