If EA buys THQ, expect Saints Row 4 to be Free to Play with Micro-transactions. With an online pass. Online that will only be available for 3 years, at which point they'll take the servers offline. I'll pass. |

People saying no to the likes of EA and Ubisoft (forum discussions) - you must've forgot about THQ putting an ONLINE PASS for Saints Row: The Third. You needed an online pass to play the game locally via co-op. Imagine that. An online pass, to play local co-op. Now how messed up is that? |

40k rights to Bethesda please. I'd love to see what a studio like Arkane could do with it. Would also be great if they could grab Relic at the same time. I'd rather not see any of the publishers currently listed get hold of Relic or the 40k license. |

| Out of the 3 mentioned, I think Ubisoft would be the better choice. EA push out games too early, left unfinished. Warner Bros ... no, just no. Ubisoft are well respected and put out 3 if not 4 of the best games this year. I hope to God that Activision don't get their hands on it, because unless it's Call of Duty, they don't really give a shit about the quality of the game they put out. |

@ 1 - I agree with you mostly, but if Metro wasn't already a good majority finished, only a couple months from it's intended release, Activision would have to scrap the whole project and start from scratch to make it a COD which would be a legendary level dumb idea even for them with their history of incredibly dumb ideas. EA wouldn't be so bad at the start for games nearly done as well. They generally let those projects go ahead as planned. Then if successful enough, then they'll just intentionally fuck up the sequels. :( So all I'm hoping is to get Metro: Last Light in my hands the way 4A intended. Then I'm happy. |

Too bad Squeenix doesn't seem to be interested. They've been releasing some pretty solid games lately - and no online passes. @#'s 16, 17 & 33 - I'm a little worried about SP, too, but there is one saving grace. The fact that Matt and Trey themselves have put so much work into it, there's still a really good chance it'll see the light of day. Hey, I'm tryna be positive... :/ @#30 - When you think about the way these financial slides work, THQ has been heading for hard times for awhile now. It's just gotten to the point where they can no longer hide what's going on internally. What if it turned out that it was THQ that 'murdered' SR: TT because it forced Volition to cut corners so THQ could release the game sooner, shift some units, and keep the doors open a little while longer? I'm not saying the property should shift to EA or Activision (no game deserves that), but I do get the feeling that THQ isn't necessarily a safe publisher, either. This shady little deal they just tried to pull off and failed should be indication of that... |

I'm glad to see a plethora of people thinking about the future, but I, personally, would take a minute to mourn the loss of this giant. Though they were the ones that thought up the online pass and made it standard with far too many games, THQ also oversaw the creation of some of the best wrestling games to date (seriously, No Mercy still holds a brightly-burning torch to WWE 13), they brought us the silliness of Saints Rows 2 and 3 (SR1 wasn't silly, just sucky), they gave some achievement hunters the easiest K of gamerscore ever with Avatar - TLA, and they've even graced my childhood with classics like Road Rash, and the (now terrible) Ren & Stimpy game on Super Nintendo. Honestly, their track record makes me able to forgive and forget that they pissed in my mouth with Homefront. It breaks my heart to see those responsible for so much video game awe in my life, die and be picked apart by vultures. They've released a lot of crap (namely, every Spongebob game ever made), but the quality of their good items really shined, and it sucks to have to see their demise now. I hope that whoever picks up their respective licenses does right by their legacy. RIP THQ :( |

It'll go to EA likely, and they'll drive all the worthwhile IPs in to the ground like they do with everything else. @39 Assassin's Creed 3 is Ubisoft, and has a season pass. No? WB would be the best thing that could happen, they are amazing with the studios they buy, you just need to look at Travelers Tales to see what theyre like, theres been no real bullshit piled onto them since they aquired the studio the only real change is its opened up alot of franchises for the LEGO games to delve into and love them or hate them theyre going from strength to strength now or monolith who have done some of their best work since joining WB with FEAR and Condemned They did a great job with the dying mortal kombat series despite the DLC batman Arkham city... winner of multiple game of the year awards and just a vast improvement on the already great asylum honestly the only thing to come out of their acquired studios i havent liked in recent years is their lord of the rings games |

That makes me saddened, not because THQ is selling out but because it's not being sold out as whole like eidos instead it's piece by piece sale like Midway. And there is quire a possibility that many ip's don't get bought + we don't know which publisher will buy what since every publisher has there own trademark style so many games will get affected. Anyways I wish: METRO Saints Row Darksiders WWE Red Faction should get bought. I prefer WB and to second UBIOSFT but there image for reviving franchises is not good by any means. EA sucks and Activision is not that bad either as long as they don't try to use cod formula in any of the above mentioned games |

| As long as Activision don't get involved... you only have to look at True Crime Hong Kong that they screwed up and Square Enix went on to successfully bring to market as Sleeping Dogs - just imagine how many more franchises could suffer the same fate. EA is only one step behind Activision, so fingers crossed Warner Bros wins out, or else Ubisoft will infect the titles with subliminal references to Assassins Creed like Far Cry 3 and the radio masts |
