Asura's Wrath Dev CC2 Has Three New IPs in Development

A New Year's greeting issued on YouTube has revealed that Asura's Wrath and Naruto Shippuden developer CyberConnect2 has three new, unannounced IPs in development, one of which could be Asura's Wrath 2. Apparently the three titles are slated for 2013.

Already in the pipeline is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle, which is due to release this year too, but this morning's New Year message reveals that there's new projects in the offing for 2013 too. The video (posted below) is hosted by CC2 studio CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama and has been translated by SGCafe, unveiling three new games on the developer's release slate.

With the studio also putting the finishing touches to Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, due to release on March 8th, sequels are clearly on the cards for CC2, meaning that one of the studio's "original new works" could quite possibly be Asura's Wrath 2. It's certainly not beyond the realms of possibility... All will no doubt be revealed soon.

Can't wait for Ninja Storm 3! The Naruto games are criminally over looked but the majority of the gaming community. Great series of games, also Azura's wrath 2 would be cool. Would like them to make it a little more interactive and free roaming though, i enjoyed the first game but i did feel it was too heavy with the Quick Time events.

How can a new IP be a sequel? New IPs aren't sequels thats what makes them "new".

I want a new .Hack series, but I'm sure whatever they are working on will be good considering their track record.

First one was a good game. Im struggling to see where they could go with it though, If anyones played the DLC which you had to get to see the true ending. If they did do another i would like to see the ending in the game not having to fork out points on a bit of DLC for it.

I'm not sure you can have 3 new IPs if one of them is a sequel...

@8 Well if they meant new as in not a licensed game, like Naruto and Jojo, but you've got a good point. I just want one of them to be an RPG. And also, let none of them be a Vita or WiiU game, both would be bad ideas.

@7 I agree. I started replaying them again but as I have a new HD TV since they've come out (and not my older tv), they look like ass on it. =/

Love Asura's Wrath, but the actual gameplay sections left a lot to be desired.

Asura's Wrath was a real fun rental. Not worth a full purchase I didn't think.

I doubt that one of the titles to be Asura's Wrath 2. It's too soon, but who know! I'm still waiting for more rival DLCs for Asura's Wrath, I heard they may include more of Street Fighter characters. I so want Asura vs. M. Bison rival story

Gotta agree with what others said before- "a new IP" is clearly not a sequel, but somethign altogether new.

A new IP can't be Asura's Wrath as AW is an extant IP.

@1 did you even play asura's wrath? I take it you didn't?

I'd love a new asura's wrath as the game left it kind of open...

But as many others say a NEW IP can not be a sequel!

But then again, Microsoft said that at the announcement of halo 4...

"WE HAVE AN ALL NEW AND EXCITING ORIGINAL IP FOR YOU ALL TO SEE HERE AT E3!"

*shows halo 4 trailer*....

:O .hack HD collection would be great. Would probably tank the value of the ps2 games (Quarantine is still a $90 game...), but since I don't plan on selling them ever, that's fine :P

@10 trust me they would look like ass all hd, I play the first games on pcsx2 with everything max out.... these games have way.... way too much hand drawn graphics. Plus half the character models are terrible even upscaled 4 times, they look shiny and new but... still look terrible. It would be easier for them just to do remakes, or what halo ce antislavery did.

If they have 3 new IPs then one of them wouldnt be Asuras Wrath 2 as Asuras Wrath already exists therefor it would not be a new IP

With the true ending of Asura's Wrath, a sequel is pretty useless (and I don't think a prequel would be very interesting).

And yeah, a "new I.P" mean an original game, so it can't be a Naruto, a DBZ or an Asura's Wrath, or the developper don't know the meaning of "new I.P".
