How difficult is it to release a map pack? Seems a lot of games struggle to release them smoothly, especially when season passes involved.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD FROM HERE OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED TWICE!

@3 I believe the article states that the issue comes from downloading the map pack for free with the incentive included with halo 4. This is not human error , its computer generated bans based on this particular free item during the 14 day trail period.
My advice would be if you have already used the free 14 day code to still download crimson as i imagine you will only get some sort of rebate if its directly effected you. if you simply let your 14 days expire you may be at a permanent lose. |

Something is wrong and players are being banned on accident is all. Microsoft is working on it so let them work.
They realize now something is up. It's just annoying to see this happening. |

| If is wasn't Microsoft's game studio the backlash from this map release wouldnt of been to harsh. Its funny because all this stuff was there MS's fault to begin with =P. |

| I was banned and unbanned for a C.o.D. DLC I never actually downloaded. It made no sense as I don't even play C.o.D. games let alone download paid-for DLC. After a 2 1/2 month investagation Microsoft unbanned my account and gave me 3 months of Xbox Live Gold, 800 Microsoft Points and a email with an apology. So basically what I'm saying is I'm sure they'll work this out.. |

| Holy crap I got scared, I ran out of gold right before the map pack was available and I used the 14 day code and I downloaded the map pack for free because I bought the limited edition so I check this morning and I'm not banned :) |

| I got the map pack for free apparently for buying the limited edition (which means I reserved it at gamestop). I played this weekend with no ban. Is this different than this free 14 day trial? Will I have to buy it in 2 weeks? |

For those that don't know what happened here it is.
On the in-game menu to download the map pack for a period of time it said "Free" to download. Didn't matter if you had the Map Pass or not it was free to everyone. Well they caught it a couple of hours too late, and now they are giving the people that shouldn't have gotten it for free a "14 day trial" on the maps. After that then they can't play the maps anymore unless rightfully purchased. Apparently now the system is banning people, but Microsoft is working hard to reverse bans and fix the problem. |

further proof to me that automated systems do far more harm than good. i realize we do need them, but companies should also realize the need to be more careful with the programming of these automated systems.

| @18: Actually some people that reported getting banned have either used the code in the LE or a war games pass along with the "promotion trial" map packer downloaders. Though the common thing seems that it also deals with split-screening with another account (not a guest) |

I'm scared to log on now. I noticed I had it for free when it was going on for downloading. Was psyched and I adore the maps. Then finding out 343i is doing the "Trial" thing with the mistake MS did. *cries*

This is NOT the place to bitch about achievements not working. Do you need help (which is already OBVIOUS)? Go to the forum for Halo 4 (try clicking on "Forums" at the top of this article... it'll take you right to it)!
I got the Map Pack for FREE... apparently due to having qualified for that Specialization Offer by playing online by Nov. 20th. I might be one of those people who gets banned (I haven't hit the War Games yet, having recently finished the Spartan Ops, and campaign last week).
I might go ahead and buy the Map Pass like I originally planned. It's just that the free download for Crimson was hard to resist, since it was right in my face! :-p |
