It would be better if they made it so you can go into any building rather than 1% of them. That would be a better innovation. What they are talking about is just more of the same with little creative thinking IMO. Think outside the box guys! |

Jet-setting from San Andreas to Liberty City via Vice City, with a brief mini-break in Chinatown? SOLD! To be fair Lee, that's what GTA1 was :-) Fair play Rockstar. Welcomed ambition. |

@7 I disagree, you can go inside every building in Oblivion which came out almost 7 years ago and that gameworld is huge with thousands of buildings -- although I will admit that the interiors are somewhat generic. But that's not the case for Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Skyrim. So there technology is there. And if any developer has the resources to pull of such a feat, it's Rockstar. |

@11 Yes, but it has a loading every time you enter a building. With a game like GTA, every building would need to always be open. And Skyrim doesn't have the same building density as GTA does. Did you even think about what you were saying before you said it? |
|

Forum Posts: 75 | Comment #16 by SilvereX Friday, December 14, 2012 @ 04:59:46 AM | |
@15 There's also no point to every building being open. In the Elder Scrolls games, in every building there's things to pick up. There's nothing to pick up in GTA aside from the occasional weapon or money, and nothing to do in half the buildings you actually can enter. Letting us enter every building will just be a huge waste of development time and a completely and legitimately retarded idea. |

Well IMO GTA series are the gaming equivalent of the emporer's new clothes; everyone gasps at how wonderful they are, yet there is nothing of substance there. The very fact that every building is a nicely drawn facade with nothing behind it serves as a handy synopisis for the whole series, again IMO. A living city? Hardly. You are welcome to your poor mans driving/shooting game. |

| GTA and Knuckles, on a massive scale. Sega once again, ahead of their time. Shame what they've turned into. I'd buy this, btw, even if it was entirely dl only and you had to pay full price for each city (basically in the end a $180 Games on Demand game you buy in three chunks). |

| this would be awsome, they then need the story to go with it though at least 500 missions long, so a few weeks of gameplay, plus they need hidded packages say 2000 of them and 500 unique stunt jumps, so basically a game that takes at least 6months of non stop gaming to complete to 100% :D |

@11 No offence, but I'm not entirely sure how you came to that conclusion. All of the three games you listed STILL contain many a generic interior, with a few notable exceptions, e.g. the few Vaults and casinos in Fallout. Just take a look at the caves and half of the misc buildings in the game. I wouldn't mind a few buildings being open, but I'd rather they didn't do EVERY building. GTA is basically a crime simulator, I wouldn't feel the need to go into say, an office building. What gameplay value would that really give? A tiny bit of fun for that gamer who wants to go on an office rampage? |

Wish they would do a GTA in London though since they had a GTA: London. Been wanting a GTA in London or Tokyo since before GTA IV but I guess I will have to dream for quite a while longer. |

I feel like this could be their next game. They've already redone Liberty City and now San Andreas and all. Next is Vice City--which they say would be interesting to redo, and I feel like they'd make all of these cities at once instead of just doing Vice City by itself. |

| Blody hell that is ambitious. Their game worlds are big enough as it is. But this size will need a shit ton of missions and side quests to flesh it all out. No use having all that area to explore with nothing in it. Maybe 2 or 3 main story lines would be a good idea. |

| If the GTA World were that big, they could add, say weekly, additional mission all across the world & keep the game going, almost indefinitely. If, that is a big IF, Microsoft & Sony would let them pass the Gamerescore Limit. But, if the game became that big, they may allow it. |

| This would be great, but I'd rather have a city/world that's persistent to what I've done in it and shows all the damage I've done and how I've changed the city. What I mean by that is if I blow up a building, I don't want to see the building back to normal the next time I drive down the same road. Instead have the area being cleaned up for a week or two, then have the building being rebuilt and then after a couple of months have the new building finished. |

| GTA is my favorite series but all I gotta say is, stop making your "Cities" islands... It just doesn't feel real to me. Driving from North to South to only see endless amounts of sea... Working on the facades would be nice too. Hate beating an amazing mission with Niko, having him call the mission giver and see in the background a pasted facade (even though I don't care about every building being enterable.)It'd be cool to travel a GTA U.S.A, driving from San Andreas to Liberty City through a mock-up U.S.A. and please, no more grinding achievements... I'm sick of "Packages" especially when cops chase after shooting one. Make London/Tokoyo a destination flight within this Rockstar wonderland please...and maybe make your characters customizable. Niko was cool but not friendly for minorities and genders. I see it looks like there going with a "Vantage Point" thing with GTA V and I agreee @55. |

Make a GTA world and instead of releasing new games just start releasing new cities for the world. I don't think it would work if it was on discs but if it was digital download it could just be something like adding a new destination at the airport. |
