Next Gen RRoD is inevitable. Gigglesnort.. Just like the 360 they will stuff this console with outdated budget technology, by the time it comes out, it'll be a 3 year old PC but HEY those 500 million dollars were well spent on that Kinect Launch Party!!! |

I'll probably cave and pick this up when it releases, if it has a nice lineup of games. If not, I'm not switching to a console that I have to wait half a year for for some entertaining stuff to play. Overall, I'm hoping for delays. The 360 still has so much to it that I don't feel like I need a new console in one year's time. |

We don't need RROD/YLOD or massive removal of features (like BC and OS) again. Take your time MS and Sony, get your hardware sorted out and fully tested. Current games still look good enough for me anyways. WD, 1313, etc look nice, but graphics have passed the "good enough" threshold this gen. I don't feel that burning need for better graphics when I look at high end PC stuff or AP/Samaritan tech demos, instead I'm like "cool, I guess". Its reached that point IMO. |

Why oh why go with an AMD chip. They're so many years behind Intel nowadays it's just not even funny. Buying a cutting edge AMD chip for the system is still going to leave them about 3 years behind cutting edge Intel based systems. This all but guarantees that the next XBox isn't going to be cutting edge and is going to be something more akin to the WiiU where it's an "okay" HD console, but still shit compared to the hardware available on the market and what could be done instead. |

Grabbing this whenever it's released, no matter how much it is, gotta have it! Hopefully I don't have to cut in line as I did when I bought the first one, man people got pissed... To top it off, the store had waaaaay too few consoles for 100+ people that was standing in line outside the store before opening. Expect 250, 500 and 1TB storage. BluRay drive. No backwards compatibility. Gamer profile will carry over, but I doubt GS will. Probably a price of $399/499/599, depending on storage. Purely speculation of course. Shit, it could be $99, 4gb, cartridge and only play NeoGeo games for all I know. I didn't get a system until 5 years go, and waited for a reason. Far too many stories of RRoD. I know one guy who had like 7. Shit, I had one for piss sakes. I know it's hit and miss, but, no chances will be taken. |

I really think the next gen needs to have great backwards compatability, xbla, games on demand and all dlc should be playable on the next Xbox... it would put less pressure on a great starting lineup and would make all of us who pay for things feel like we paid for them for a reason Im sure people will be like oh just move on to the next generation thats why its a generation, but why cant I be able to play halo 3 hell even combat evolved whenever i feel like it? How about minecraft? What happens to people who spent $1000+ on rockband dlc? I feel like it just cant be that hard for these things to work on the next Xbox.. I realize theres never anything that states we have the right to be able to do this, but it just makes sense, people will feel like their digital collection means something, it will make people say wow microsoft cares about me and the money i spend on their products, and really it will take sooo much pressure off the first wave of games, Halo 4 will have a longer life, theres a new gears game, they cant just come out with another gears and another halo by holiday next year, thats way too soon, I think it lets them expiriment with new exclusives while making sure if these new games tank, the console stays on top |

| I'm not a fan of hopping on stuff at launch, it's expensive and something ultimately better comes along for a lower price later. The people who mosey on along several years later always get the better deals because the company is tossing out promotions all willy nilly to collect new customers. Not to mention, consoles and their games always perform public beta tests on their first string of customers, and I'm entirely not interested in being one of the poor bastards who buys 3 different consoles in the first year, or has to pay to ship it to be fixed umpteen times. |

@41 I wouldn't call that common sense, it's an educated guess, but it's still a guess. MS and/or Sony could unveil their next console at E3 and have it launch in November in time for Christmas. @44 There's no way the next console would cost that much, it would cripple sales at launch. It also depends on the features of the console and no one knows anything about the next console, so no one can put a price on it, but economically speaking $1000 is way too much for a launch price. |

| @46 the price is based off of the patients that ms put in a while back. i agree, the price is steep. as for a release date. i just dont see why a new system should come out yet. it would have to really stand out for me to buy. plus the rod is still an issue. i dont trust ms. when it does come out. i'll wait & see how durable it is. plus its functions, i dont like the apps. also ms is making this a pc instead of a gaming console. i respect your input, thanks :) |

@47 That doesn't mean those patents will be used in the next Xbox. Companies patent stuff all the time and a lot of them never see the light of day. It's just not economically feasible for a company to have that high of a price point for a launch console. They need to build up an install base for the console, pricing them out of many peoples price range and that doesn't happen. I understand you don't trust, MS I don't either but I don't trust any company. I've had 2 Xboxes, my first RRoDed several times before it went out of warranty, I'm on my second 360 and it's lasted 3+ years. I haven't heard of the 360 Slims having that issue either so it's seems like MS has taken care of it, but I'll wait to hear of any issues before I buy as well. |

| So the source i got the info MS had problems with mass producing the chip was right hmm! I woudn,t be supriced now if Sony uses this as a headstart to bring out their PS4 before MS can? And 48 is right and this isn,t PS3 trolling ;) Whoever has both systems knows as a fact that it seems PS3 has more to offer and actualy rewards players more. And their internet service is still for free. However if the next-gen consoles can clash with a high power PC is a serious no probly. And indeed will prices be high at launch date as usual, there is a pro and contra about that, buy one right away and you probly enjoy xbox live again as it should be and without MP games with trash talking, yelling 12 year olds playing games 16 or 18 years+ basicly like it was when the xbox360 just came out and everybody still chatted with eachother in matches. |

Don't even care anymore. Valve is coming out with the Steambox. Only console anyone will ever need. Well except I guess for the Halo series but that'll likely become my only exception. A basic hardware platform with the ability to upgrade? A great starter for getting people into the world of PC gaming where I get all my new game releases for 35% off on a regular basis and where we have bundles and such where you can get 6 games for a penny or whatever you want to pay for it. |

Plus, having a tendency of falling asleep and leaving my machine on overnight. Then I bought my 2nd console (first Elite 120GB) a few weeks later and its running smooth to this day. So I don't plan on buying a next-gen til my current console dies on me and I pray it lasts til 2015. |

I just hope that when the next-gen Xbox comes out... they don't tell us that the 360 games will only run under some half-assed, backwards-compatibility mode (and only a 3rd of the games, at that)... and then drop all 360 games from being able to play on Xbox LIVE a year or so later! I can just see ALL those COD, Halo and other map packs being a wasted investment on the 360, like the Halo 2 Map Packs when they killed Xbox LIVE for the original Xbox. Whatever they produce... it better be RELIABLE... and FULLY backwards compatible with ALL 360 games!!! |

@ 40 You can take your PC gaming and shove it straight up your ass. I'm sorry but I'm a console gamer only and I don't need the headaches or bullshit. I honestly believe atleast Microsoft will release in November of 2013. I don't give a rat's ass what Sony does.. they failed this generation of gamers miserably with their failed software and UI, gimped 3rd party multiplats due to the console being more difficult to develop for, a gimped downloading and update system, and download speeds that are considerably slower than what my 360 provides wirelessly. They dropped the ball, and failed to give us anything close to the equivilent of XBL meanwhile enticing fans with this PSN+ garbage which is actually nothing more than a rental service just like XBL. Sony would literally have to suck my cock to restore my faith in them again, and no I'm not kidding... |

@66 "I've seen it on a legit website that that's the price range they want". That doesn't really mean anything other than you're taking a rumor as gospel and do you have a link to said website because I searched for this supposed "price range" rumor and can't find anything on it. Also, how is the website "legit"? Does that mean it's never had information wrong or posted an untrue rumor? And who's "they"? Someone from MS said this is the price range we want and only this only "legit" website caught it? It's simple economics on why the price won't be that high, it will hurt sales too much and kill the console. |

Hurry up Microsoft, and take my money! Can't wait for the next-next-gen. And hopefully you listen to your fanbase and include the backwards compatibility with the 360 titles. I have nearly two meters of green boxes here which represents years of great games. |

ABOUT THE NAME: Kryptos? Now that's a *cryptic* name and obviously a mere placeholder. It reminds me of "Krypton", the home planet of Superman. You know, Superman's logo is a triangle (of sort) and considering this is the third console in the series of Xboxes; a Superman-ish triangle could work as the third Xbox's logo in the same manner the Spider-Man font was used with the PlayStation 3 with its initial release. Man of Steel (2013) is coming... "Durango" and "Orangutan" share the letters "ORANGU" leaving the letters "DTAN". Maybe you could conjure up something with the altitudes and latitudes of Durango (Mexico), a location of the orangutans and Kansas (Superman). Just a thought, yet I'm probably looking into things just... the name "Xbox 720" would work all fine in my opinion. |
