Following the recent release of the latest Call of Duty: Black Ops II title update, Treyarch has released the patch notes.

There’s a few bits and bobs of note in there, including a Dragonfire fix and Car Package and spawning glitches, plus a number of performance improvements for streaming.

You can find all of the fixes below, courtesy of the Call of Duty blog.

  • Made infrastructure and performance improvements to Live Streaming.
  • Made streaming performance improvements to video playback in CODTV.
  • Addressed an issue where flight range parameters for airborne vehicles could be deleted in the middle of a match due to a network interruption. This fix resolves the following symptoms reported by the community:
  • Escort drone flying under the map
  • Inability to call in the Dragonfire
  • FHJ-18 weapon level is now increased by destroying Scorestreak vehicles and aircraft.
  • Care Package/AGR canister exploit has been addressed.
  • Patched a small map exploit in Aftermath.
  • Addressed a rare situation that would cause the Emblem Editor menu to overlap other menus.
  • Balance pass on spawn influencers to improve cases causing non-optimal spawning under certain conditions.
  • Improved performance for emblem uploads to prevent an occasional hang. If there is an error connecting to servers during an upload, you will now be able to re-try your save.
  • Emblems and Clan tags will now appear correctly on the Assault Shield when stowed on the back.
  • Addressed all reported UI error code messages.
  • Elite Clan Friends list no longer actively sorts players when their status is updated. The player list will refresh after closing and re-opening the tab.
  • Improved a number of emblem icons in the Emblem Editor.
  • Junkyard IV reward added to Calling Cards.

  • One of the big problems in this game is the power of the pistols. if you meat someone with a kap-40 and you have a scar-h your likely to lose
  • Wow that's a lot of crap, and to think games actually used to be next to perfect before they got released.
  • You can't fix shit.
  • @2: Are you kidding? there's always been games that release buggy or broken as hell, we're just lucky to live in a time where these bugs can get patched out. Back in the old days if a game was broken, that was it! Not that I'm condoning games being released with huge flaws. Its better to release your game as close to bug free as possible so people don't get frustrated to hell. Sometimes it is expected though... Bethesda I'm looking at you!
  • BURN the GAME!!!!
  • @1 You really think a long range weapon such as the scar should beat a short range weapon like the kap 40..... at close range? Seriously some of the complaints you hear are ridiculous.
  • @4 Nope. In the past developers spent a hell of a lot more time on quality because there were no such things as patches. Now devs seem to be getting ultra lazy and saying, you know what, lets just release the game as is and we'll just fix any bugs later on and release a patch. Before patches I can think of only a handful of games that had major bugs. Now I can only think of a handful that don't.
  • @7 I feel they are getting lazier and rushing games out broken. I feel as if some know about the issues and just say "Y'know it's not such a big deal we can patch it later" and that's something that shouldn't be. However the fact that we now HAVE the option to patch games I'm glad to see companies properly using them (when needed) especially games like Call Of Duty. Minor things like this though shouldn't have slipped by them if they would have spent more time with them. One game that comes to mind is Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks. That game needed a patch bad. One bug I can think of was you needed to Fight Shang Tsung and Kintaro in a row to get to Shao Khan. After the Kintaro fight the game would load. Now This loading screen had to outcomes.... 1. You Fought Shao Khan 2. Your PS2 froze and you needed to fight them all over again. This was like a 50/50 chance. We should be glad that patches like these are coming to our favorite games... but all in all too many developers are indeed getting lazy on their games.
  • @3 too bad people havent realised this yet
  • It`s Call of Duty...who still cares...bunch of mainstream piles of sh*t.
  • No more post for COD please!
  • Then again this might have all been planned: 1) release the game a couple of months before Christmas 2) sell the game bug-free (beta-tested by fans) in Christmas to toddlers.
  • Gotta love the hate. But think. Which game breaks records. Sorry it's own records with every game?
  • i miss the support streaks!
  • I do kind of feel like we are getting CoD news every two minutes. I am sure that isn't the case in reality, but every time I jump on the site, it always seems like CoD is at the top of the news feed. Maybe once the hubbub dies down we can go back to discussing other games.
  • Honestly people think this is a lot? Have you seen the bugs and fixes list for Battlefield 3/MoH warfighter/Skyrim? This is a lot less than their first patches but I guess you will fail to acknowledge that a game can be worse than call of duty.
  • @#14 Support streak were ace but just a little too awesome (vests for example)
  • still have not fixed the network/lag issue
  • "non-optimal spawning"? What's with dressing up "shitty, broken spawn system just like every other COD" like that?
  • What about the zombies Juggernog glitch?
  • @2 of course there were problems but there is with everything, in saying they were almost perfect. I mean who ever had glitches with mario 64 or pokemon red and blue!?
  • @3' my bad.
  • @10 If you wanna keep it OG underground then its time to do the pc switch.
  • In order to reduce rage, I just acknowledge I'm paying $60 for a beta and the full version will come out soon. To all those people who keep saying "I remember when games have no bugs", this must be the first game you have ever played, all of my N64 games have bugs, lots of them are game changing as well like being able to beat Super Mario 64 with 7 stars
  • The popular word is that these games are the same each iteration. If that were the case, wouldn't the engine be practically perfected by now since it's the same one?
  • @24, Hell, how about the bugs in the biggest seller of them all...Super Mario Bros.? The jumping through walls, the glitch when you're near a lift and it seems the lift is going through you when it's on screen. Glitches happen. Can anyone think of a game that was glitch free? Issues that needed to be addressed later? The gaming community has been ruined by 13 year olds with smart phones and parents who let them play M rated games. Older gamers like myself remember the broken games, glitches and you know what? We delt with them. Glad to see COD get patched.
  • @21: Missingno, that is all that needs to be said. OT: Now all they need to do is get rid of the lag compensation. I'm tired of shooting half my clip only to get shot by two bullets and be dead. I pay for my internet and should have a slight advantage like that, not the other way around.
  • Fix that horrible connection/frame rate lag where the game freezes 4 times but then goes back to normal... the amount of times that shit have screwed me on zombies :@
  • They better fix the damn lag compensation! My player walks like a cripple and needs to shoot half of the magazine to kill someone. It's such a shame because I like the multiplayer.
  • @26 Thanks for the nostalgia man. I actually enjoyed discovering glitches back since the SNES. And I agree completely, it goes back to Halo 3 which began the downfall of mature multiplayer gaming when tweens started playing M rated games. As for the patches, not a bad start but it's going to be a while before it is even comparable to the pre-release hype
  • hows about fixing a guy running towards you taking hit markers and he still stabs you and runs off? i could accept both players taking a death but....
  • totally agree with @30
  • @24+26 Finally, people speaking sense. Anyone who has been gaming for a lengthier period of time knows the truth. It's the community that has changed, not so much gaming. Gaming is evolving just like any other industry. Just play what you enjoy and avoid something if you think it's so terrible. Hell, if you're so aggravated by what goes on in the industry then stop gaming. If not, then accept the situation and move on. It's all the whining and complaining that gets me. The term "first world problems" always comes to mind.
  • These kids crying, makes me laugh. Will you ever have a fraction of the money this beast of a franchise makes EVERY year? Nope. This is these peoples jobs, they're doing what puts food on the table. Anyone would if they were making such a killing from it. Fuckin' clowns.
  • thank god, that dragon fire thing was starting to get on my tits, what about the knifing though :/
  • The MP7 also seems like it might have been nerfed, which is a good thing (it also never made sense a gun made in 2001 would be used in 2025). Now all they need to fix is the melee issues, the seriously OP pistols and give another go at the spawning... ever since MW2 introducted the revenge medal spawning has been a nightmare.
  • i just hate the betties they need to be nurfed
  • so they havent fixed the fact that you can empty a clip in someone they dont die and they kill you with a couple of hits, they need to fuck the quickscoping bollocks out of the game also, it absolutely spoils the game, no skill needed just point in the general direction and simultaniously pull each trigger, what is this call of duty 9 or something and that shit is still in the game
  • Non-optimal spawns is an understatement. I was getting fed the fuck up with spawning in front of someone from the other team. I mean hell who thought it was fun to spend a couple of minutes staring at a respawn timer because your always spawning with your back to the enemy and your head in their sites.
  • @37 Betties aren't a problem. All you need to do is take a knee as soon as you hear the click. It's the claymores that need to be nerfed, that's why I have engineer on all of my classes.
  • the spawning system is shocking i was playing capture the flag on the boat level and due to shocking spawns i spend most of the game watching the spawn counter count down.
  • @ 2 There were a ton of map exploits in Halo 2 and Halo CE that were just there. You couldn't patch them or fix the problems so you were stuck with people geting under the maps in Halo CE and super bouncers in Halo 2.
  • No matter how many updates you bring to ANY CoD game, they will still suck dick. Bottom line. fucking like it or bitch about it.
  • i love the new multiplayer and the speed of fixes shut your cunt holes for once and just play the game or buy a new game
  • This fix is not enough they still need to fix the low FPS amount at sometimes or is it just me? Also fix the knifing, laggs, spawn system and most importantly remove the quickscope bs from this game. If I wanted to get sniped I'd go to modern warfare 3. After all the above maybe ill give the multiplayer a second chance.
  • Idk if this Patch made things for better or for worse but last night. After downloading it, I started up the game. Played 1 match of TDM, then joined Ground War. As soon as the game started, it kicked me out put me back in. Then every time I killed someone, it kicked me out and put me back in resetting my kill to 0. As if someone was messing w/ the system illegally. I was kicked out and put back in 6 times. I didn't want to quit in-game because I heard rumor you get banned. So I stayed til the match ended. Then I backed out and joined another Ground War game and everything was normal til I got off 3 hours later. Just thought I share my experience w/ everyone.
