I would love a Mirror's Edge 2. I've been a fan of DICE's games since the Amiga so i'm sure whatever they do will be top notch as always.Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 11:56 AM
That's up to EA, buddy.Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 11:56 AM
Im happy for them to make more Battlefield games, they should not have gone straight onto making BF4 though, they should have chose to make BC3 instead and made BF4 for next gen.Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 11:57 AM
Mirrors edge 2 would change my lifeTuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 12:04 PM
I don't know, I feel like if they would concentrate more on the Battlefield series, that would be the best outcome.Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 12:08 PM
I understand people wanting to make different games, & fans wanting new IP's, but honestly? I would rather some developers only working on some games. I would be happy if Rockstar only made GTA / Read Dead / Max Payne or L.A. Noire type games, & Bungie only made Halo, Dice only made BF games, ect. That's just my opinion though, & I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with me, just as I'm sure some will agree with me. But I respect what other companies want to do, I'd hate to be a developer & not be allowed to do what I wanted.Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 12:11 PM
@6 Most devs DON'T want to do the same game over and over. It's usually an executive level decision. That was the whole point of this article.Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 12:17 PM
@7 But what I'm saying is I DO want them to do the same thing. Not by milking it every year, but by sticking with an IP & working on it for years. Like Rockstar with their games.Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 12:22 PM
Mirrors Edge 2!Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 12:24 PM
Mirrors Edge 2 please and Battlefield 4 please. I'll be quiet after these two games.Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 12:25 PM
LOL @#2 Excatly my thoughts. They can say all they want, but in the end they will do as they're told and if EA says make only BF, that's what they will do. Not like it's a bad game, but sure need some work, like everything else=)Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 12:27 PM
Mirror's Edge 2 would be awesome. The first game was so unique and still to this day is my fav game on the consoleTuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 12:27 PM
I really want Bad Company 3, but I'll be happy with any Battlefield or Mirrors Edge 2.Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 12:44 PM
Well, the FPS genre is very competitive and it may be wise to mainly focus on the Battlefield franchise. Innovate, raise the bar and offer a new FPS experience.Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 01:12 PM
really wished for a bad company 3...Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 01:23 PM
Put efforts into a battle field 3, the battle field games, the fist more then the second, had enjoyable campaigns mostly thanks to their characters, making the campaign enjoyable throughout. That being said, I'd like to see more effort put into new IP's, because there are to many sequels these days, sequels aren't bad, but you make to many sequels too quickly, and you burn out a series... looking at you CoD...Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 01:27 PM
DICE, we love you. Don't become IW and Treyarch. EA, don't let that happen. DICE, please do something different. And keep being awesome.Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 01:28 PM
Suck my dick and make Mirror's Edge 2 already!Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 01:37 PM
@6 You seemed to build a good case and then shatter your argument by saying "I'd hate to be a dev and not be allowed to do what I wanted." I think dice should do more. Mirrors edge is awesome. Im sure they dont burnout paradise, right? Again. Awesome. Get that frostbite engine in a car game. Maybe death raceTuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 01:45 PM
Mirror's Edge 2 please.Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 03:02 PM
FUCK EATuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 03:03 PM
MIRRORS EDGE 2 PLEASE!!!!!Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 03:06 PM
PLEASE DICE MIRRORS EDGE 2. WITH FROSTBITE 2. HOLY POOP.Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 04:16 PM
Bad Company 3 would be great for next year and then release Battlefield 4 for next gen. But at the same time they should continue to make things besides Battlefield I mean look at Infinity Ward and Treyarch when was the last time they developed something other than Call of Duty for Treyarch i know it was 007 Quantum of Solace the game but still keep things fresh expand a little bit I think that's all DICE is saying..Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 05:19 PM
ok then. battlefield of honour factory then.Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 06:56 PM
Mirrors Edge 2 in FIRST PERSON again NOT THIRD. At least would love to see what they showed of Mirrors Edge 2 that was shot down.Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 07:08 PM
Instead of Battlefield they could do BattleFRONT. As in Star Wars Battlefont 3. Yeah I know, never happen but one can dream. Never played Mirror's Edge I understand there is great deal of want for a sequel. As there is a lot of interest in Battlefront 3. Both would be a welcome change of pace.Wednesday, November 21, 2012 @ 12:30 AM
EA is a terrible and greedy company anyways. Alway's screwing over it's customers.Wednesday, November 21, 2012 @ 12:32 AM
I can see by their mention of Dead Space that any other franchises they work on are really only going to be in a consultative capacity over the Frostbite engine. Their name appears on Need For Speed but what exactly do they contribute?. So my guess is to expect them to drop names like Dragon Age and Mass Effect in the future without technically working on them, and still only really work on Battlefield.Wednesday, November 21, 2012 @ 02:19 AM
@29 DICE is well known for their sound effects in their games and have won a lot of awards for it. They helped Criterion with the sound effects on NFS.Wednesday, November 21, 2012 @ 02:49 AM
Ah, I suppose that makes sense. I have a feeling they had a hand in Syndicate because the weapon sounds were rather 'Battlefield' and there were audio presets much like in BF:BC2/BF3, but I can't remember seeing them in the credits.Wednesday, November 21, 2012 @ 03:40 AM
Please no more Mirrors Edge, it was like an FPS but with shit graphics, shit story, shit controls, and all the fun taken out.Wednesday, November 21, 2012 @ 04:25 AM
Mirrors Edge 2 would be a welcome announcement for me at least, not so much Battlefield though. But will EA allow it? Can they add a MP online Deathmatch modes, and add a season pass to a game that is designed for SP? No? Then its not likely EA will be interested. I hope it does happen though, still got the first, and plan a 2nd run through on hard very soon.Wednesday, November 21, 2012 @ 08:01 AM
I would rather the stuck to Battlefield, and made those games a lot more polished on launch.Thursday, January 24, 2013 @ 01:49 PM
Hell, Mirror's Edge 2 would be amazing. Improve the gameplay so you aren't just on rooftops for like the whole game add more of a sandbox feel to it and bam you got a nice sequel. Maybe even fix up the controls too.

DICE doesn't want to be known as "a Battlefield factory" apparently, despite having Battlefield 4 pencilled in for a 2013/2014 launch, and according to EA Games' Vice President, Patrick Soderlund, the studio has more than a few other projects on the backburner besides Battlefield titles.
Asked whether riskier projects like Mirror's Edge were worthwhile for DICE, Soderlund commented: "Well it depends, right? Maybe it is and maybe it isn't. It's also important for us - the DICE guys are roughly 300 people in the Stockholm studio; not all of them are working on Battlefield things, and that's intentional, because we don't want to become a Battlefield factory."
Clearly Soderlund doesn't want Battlefield to be the only IP that DICE is associated with. "The minute we start saying 'you're going to make a Battlefield game for the rest of your life', they're going to go some place else," Soderlund told OXM.
"So for them to make great Battlefield games there need to be other things for them to do as well. That's why we have people who move around quite a bit. And then obviously we have a boatload of people that just want to make Battlefield because they love it.
"Same thing with the team in San Francisco that are making Dead Space," Soderlund added. "It's a stunning team and they're passionate about what they do, and they love making Dead Space. Then the answer's 'well, then make Dead Space'. Then we have to figure out how to sell it and make it successful."
Fingers crossed that one of DICE's other projects is a Mirror's Edge sequel. That we'd like to see. One thing's for sure, however. DICE will be making Battlefield games for a long, long time.
