E3 2008: Xbox 360 and Netflix Team Up
E3 2008: Xbox 360 and Netflix Team Up
Written Monday, July 14, 2008 by Alan Pettit

Microsoft and Netflix today announced a partnership that will bring over 10,000 movies and TV shows to existing or future Netflix and Xbox Live Gold users at no additional cost. Estimated to be active in "late fall" this appears too good to be true, but it is! I'm a Blockbuster Online member and I love the in-store trade-in service, but this might bring me over to the other side.

For more information, visit the official announcement at xbox.com.

So it's not actually free, you have to be a member of Netflix to get the movies/TV episodes, but you can stream them down Xbox Live at no additional cost.

Brilliant move on Netflix's part. They just quite literally made a whole new market and distribution method materialize out of thin air, at relatively little cost.

Just checked out their website for subscription plan prices, and they seem ready. Their FAQ's already been updated to include 360 support.

So you actually need to pay and be member of both Netflix and xbox live gold?..If that's the case it wasn't such a good deal.

NO. You have to be a MEMBER of Netflix and HAVE a GOLD Xbox Live Account, the moves will have NO ADDITIONAL COST!

So, if you have Netflix AND a gold account of Xbox Live, you get free movies.

its not free. you have to have a XBL Gold membership and a Netflix membership which is anywhere between $170- $400/year combined for both in order to atch the movies through your Xbox 360.
