Just tried the Demo, and its great, but the graphics don't seem as crisp as the first one and it seems much more difficult which is a good thing as i found the first one two easy even on hardest difficulty. I'll probably pick it up in a few weeks or so. |

| If you count Sonic Drift, Sonic Drift 2, and Sonic R, this is actually the fifth Sonic racer. |

Saw today that they released this as a low budget title for 30€. I instantly ordered. That is how you do it right. Hope this gets good sales, so others learn that at some point charging less can get you more profit (and on top of that a good reputation). Really liked the first one. Its great fun in couch multiplayer. |

I can't afford it yet, but I went to rent it, and Blockbuster didn't have it to rent :( I tried the Demo though, and loved it. The Drift Checckpoint Challenge was a toughie though. |

@#3 - Not even. Since you're counting Sonic R (which doesn't use cars except for like, Amy), then you gotta include Riders, which there are 3 of. So this is Sonic's 8th racing game. Sonic Drift, Sonic Drift 2, Sonic R, Sonic Riders, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing, Sonic Free Riders, and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. |

@13 Except in Mario Kart 7, you couldn't drive on the water, nor could you actually fly. If anything, it's more of a Diddy Kong Racing knock-off with Mario Kart's item spam on the 2 hardest difficulties. |

@15 its about 1.2g Good demo that lets you sample the full Panzer Dragoon track and the Golden Axe one. It certainly is more challenging compared to the previous one, took a few attempts to nail 1st place on medium difficulty! Where as the previous one you couldnt tell the difference between easy or hard. Put my order through on Amazon already and at £24.99 I think thats an absolute bargain. If only more publishers took that pricing on board... *cough* turn 10 *cough* horizon. |

@#12 - You say this like Shenmue was much of a game. That game birthed QTEs and was a lot of talking to people and wandering around. Why wouldn't they release something like this instead? Oh, and in case you forgot, SEGA is doing really poorly with money now, so they can only really afford to focus on games that will sell. Sonic games sell, even if people don't always like them. I can guarantee Shenmue would get some praise on the internet and still sell horribly. @#13 - This implies you haven't even played Mario Kart 7. Mario Kart 7 has you glide over parts and drive underwater. SART has you pilot a plane for whole sections and drive a boat for whole sections. There's a huge difference between just floating a bit over some gaps and actually flying around, and the fact they each have physics related to their respective racing types, unlike MK7. It's far more similar to Diddy Kong Racing, or even moreso, a mixture of Hydro Thunder, Mario Kart and any form of aerial racing game. |

@18: I think you're forgetting that Shenmue was one of the Dreamcast's best-selling games, despite a stupid advertising campaign. The second didn't sell as well on the Dreamcast coz it wasn't released in North America, and the majority of the Xbox crowd hadn't played the first. But yeah, Shenmue III would defo sell well. The series wasn't a commercial failure, it just didn't hit the heights it was expected to coz of how poorly ran SEGA were at the time. |
