Mass Effect 3: Omega New Female Turian Ally Revealed
Written Tuesday, November 06, 2012 By Richard Walker
View author's profile

Images have leaked of the first female Turian character who will be one of Shepard's new allies in Mass Effect 3: Omega when it launches at the end of the month. You'll team up with her alongside Aria T'loak as you battle a Cerberus general called Petrovsky to gain control of Omega.

There's two images of the mysterious female Turian that have leaked [via AGB], but don't exactly give away much. You'll be able to find out more about Mass Effect 3: Omega in our hands-on preview coming soon.

It's also the first N7 Day tomorrow, which means logging into Mass Effect 3 multiplayer between 8am GMT and 7.59am on November 8th, will automatically grant you an ultra-rare weapon and six consumable items as part of the limited edition N7 Day Loyalty Pack. Mass Effect Trilogy is also out today, in case you're wondering

For now though, check out the two images of the series' first female Turian below. Mass Effect 3: Omega is out on November 27th for 1200 Microsoft Points. It's double the size of any previous single-player Mass Effect DLC apparently.

so they finally give us a turian female once the whole trilogy has been over for almost a year. Haha good one! Mass effect is my favourite gaming franchise but all these new powers, classes (multiplayer) and now aliens being added AFTER the trilogy has come to an end is just weird.

@5 Heh, and yet if they just stopped supporting the SP with DLC, people would do nothing but bitch and moan. Judging from your username you'd probably be one of them...

@8 The Shepard trilogy may be over but indications are that the ME universe will continue to be used for future games so it may be laying the groundwork for female turians in up coming games. Still hoping for a next gen Mass Effect MMORPG.....

So what is this DLC bringing to the table? Is it just a stocking filler with no substance? Or will it possibly alude to additional ending options?

@11 -I'm a huge mass effect fan hence the username
-I'm not complaining about this dlc. I used to be the guy that thought any new mass effect content was worth buying but unfortunately that isn't true anymore
-its just odd that we are getting new content now that the trilogy is over that doesn't make any sense alongside the story/lore. random new classes, powers and now a female turian as a squad-mate when the game is nearly a year old. I've lost interest. Even though the turian does look sorta cool.

They're adding two new squad mates (Aria and the female Turian) so that they don't have to bring any of your other squad mates voice actors back to record more dialogue. It's why The Arrival was a solo mission.

@18 It does make sense in the story/lore because they set it up months before Mass Effect 3 even came out in the prequel comic just like they did with Lair of the Shadow Broker and Mass Effect 2. Look it up.

@18 Okay, but what do you want them to add the DLC to? The story is over and finished. The only post game content has already been released...for free, and mainly to appease fans who felt let down, which included me..I'm not gonna lie.

So now, its either release SP content that is essentially running parallel to the main story or don't release anything at all. The latter would get a ton of backlash given how well supported recent BW games are with post-release content. I imagine they are saving any prequel or post ME3 era content for future titles should they keep making games in the ME universe.

I remember threads on BSN 6-7 months ago talking about a possible Omega DLC. To me, just because all this doesn't change the ending doesn't mean it isn't worth buying or that its pointless (e.g. Arrival didn't stop the Reapers from coming yet everybody in their mother loved that DLC).

By the way, how does it not make sense alongside the story? I haven't personally seen anything on the plot of this DLC yet, but I imagine you are liberating it from Cerberus thus strengthening Aria's mercenary band forces for the final battle. That makes sense...even though it won't change the ultimate outcome.

I initially thought it was pointless to bring out further DLC so far after the game came out and the story is not finished. I haven't played the game in a while and have an urge to get back in and start from ME1 and go right through. So the extra DLC just makes the whole experience even longer when playing the whole game through again. Apparently people lose sight of the fact that most DLC, well good single player DLC supplements the whole game, not just a 1 hour experience. But the whiners are those that buy shitty expensive map packs for MP and rarely play the SP.

This plus Dragonborn in Skyrim a week later means I'll be asking for a LOT of MSP for Christmas. Assuming I don't break down and get them myself beforehand, of course. I'm always happy to support single-player DLC for the games I play.

Awesome.

I continue to think that these additions to the Multiplayer are really setting up our immersion into some of the characters we will be seeing in the new Mass Effect games.

@5 and 8, the wankers are at it again.

OT: This looks like it will be a nice change of pace, I saved finishing the game with my last character so that I could mop up all the DLC with him first :-).
