Halo is a cash cow. That isn't a bad thing.
Things Halo sell, my nephew has a ton of the Halo Mega Blocks sets and they're pretty rad.
I've contributed to these numbers as many here have. I've bought Halo CE on both the original xbox and 360. All the Halo games since the original, even the LE of Halo Wars.
Been a fucking awesome ride so far and looking forward to next week. |

Yeah and this franchise actually deserves the money they earn unlike other franchises that get more money for the same exact garbage every year.
@10 I hope you tell yourself that every november when that unevitable sequel to the most repetitive,milked franchise drops.. Otherwise you would look pretty bad. How can you not like past entries? While i agree none have been better than halo2 i can certainly say they have all innovated in something with the exception of odst which was more like dlc but still was a change from the more action based halo 3.
This series has kept fresh enough for me. If you haven't liked any entries since halo 2 then to me your just not a fan of halo. Would you prefer no halo period? Then we would be stuck with that other garbage of a shooter.. |

@#17 I actually don't. I mainly buy it for campaign and it never disappoints. At least I know exactly what I'm getting. The most action packed campaign lasting me about 6-8HRS with best looking edge of the seat set pieces.
With Halo it's hard to know what to expect at this point, but my hopes are as high as ever (since huge disappointment with Halo3...) |

| You can tell 8 is like 10 years old, retarded or crippled just based on the fact he think games that take no skill are better than one where you have to actually hit what you're shooting at. So while we don't agree with him you can't hate him. I would but I think it's illegal to treat children, retarded and crippled people badly, you go to jail for abuse or some such. As for my comment about COD not taking skill I just point to the fact I walked up behind a sniper and shot him 4 times in the back of the head with a shotgun and he didn't die as he slowly rotated around I shot him 3 more times with the same shotgun and he's still not dead, then he shot me once, yes once in the dick and killed me. never in all the Halo I've played from 1 through currant has anything like this happened. Which is why Halo is, has been and always will be better. |

I can't wait for the latest instalement, I honestly don't care if it doesn't pass CoD BO2 in sales, because I love the series, I know I'll like the game from everything I've seen, it's got brilliant after sale support content lined up.

| wow $3 billion in revenue huh? That is way impressive especially since Microsoft stated that it cost around $600 million to produce Halo 4 (mostly with advertising i bet) but to gain all that money back and earn more? Impressive. And I don't care how much money they make, it'll still be my favorite game franchise because well, it's just good. They have always made games they wanted to play which brings us the "Halo" experience they wanted us to experience so in essence brings a good game. Now Call of Duty...well I like the series enough to play them eventually but it has gone down hill...and for that I say, LONG LIVE HALO. May the forerunners guide you! |

I saw a list a few days in the paper (swedish newspaper called aftobladet) where they presented the most plaid games on the xbox360 consol so far this year and sure MW3 had second place and wow good for them. but halo 3(!!!) was on 20th place, good luck seeing MW3 on that list in 5-6 years.

| As much as i enjoyed the ever first Halo and its second game, after that i coudn,t help myself to always face the same enemies over and over again in just different settings and enviroments. About the MP i can be short its awesome if you team up with a good friend or a whole team of buddies, but playing solo it can turn into a nightmare def if your not used to the fact half of the other players jumping around most of the times so when your used to any basic MP match expect to die alot from above. But i,m not here to express my hate or my disrespect against all those many halo fans out there, as its a fact there are many indeed. I def hope the new studio returns Halo again into a great franchise and it all manage to fulfill your high expectations :) |

| @43 it's not my imagination it's simple fact, the hit detection on COD has been broken for years and will continue to be broken, really simple I spawned behind him all that was in my sight was his head I shot him 4 times he never got up just rotated aimed up slightly and shot me once and I died while he was rotating I shot him 3 more times and he was still alive. Never once in Halo has this ever happened. He might not of shot me in the dick, but even asuming he hit my leg there is no way he should have lived. I still played COD until Black Ops but I had to stop seeing as hit detection was still broken and there's almost nothing but 9 and 10 year olds playing the game. |

| Yeah and look at the state of both Halo and Call of Duty perhaps COD has sold more units and made more money thanks in no small part to being on twice as many platforms. Look at Halo stronger than ever and with a bright future and Combat Evolved was such a loved game it has its own HD remake nobody really cares about the first COD in the same way. Besides right now Call of Duty has been exposed as the broken, repetitive, copying, and overrated franchise that it is. There is already word of COD Modern Warfare 4 which nobody is surprised about and really nobody but the 12 year olds and die hard cod fans care about. Unless Black Ops 2 is the game changer give it a few years and Halo will still be just as popular if not more so and all I can say for COD. Here lies Call of Duty rest in peace. |

@35 That's not true, Microsoft isn't spending 600 million on Halo 4. Some tech analysts were saying that Halo 4 is the most expensive game MS has produced(which MS confirmed), and they also ESTIMATED MS spent 60 million on Halo 3.

@#48 I don't really understand what you're talking about. Halo and CoD are such different games that they could be in different universes. Sure they are both FPS genre, but other than that they play nothing like one another.
They both cater to different crowds and right now there is more ppl in a CoD crowd than Halo. Call them what you want, I really don't care, but #'s are simple and games would do best not to try to imitate CoD, because we saw what happens then (last to MoH games or even SP for BF3...).
I doubt Halo will ever outsell CoD. Think of it as of your favorite dish. You want stop eating eat say every month or rare just, because it tastes the same, right? |
