They worked with IW on Modern Warfare 3 and probably work with IW on this one. I think that *rumor* that they were working on a game on their own was just that, a rumor. Journalists were probably given mis-information that they were working on a game to cover up that they were actually co-developing MW3. They do it all the time just to create news for themselves. |

Considering I buy CoD's on a bi-annual basis (never liked the Infinity Ward ones I have always prefered Treyarch. Though I will admit I never did play CoD4 which is universally heralded as the best one) this doesn't really effect me.
Though consider this should be dropping around the same time as the xbox 720 should be, that may indicate we may be getting a serious engine overall if they want to scale it up (hopefully) |

| not very good news!! i didnt mind the MW series until MW3!! now that there even more money grubbin!! a nice MW campaign with the spec ops was great but the way they handled MW3 was god awful. the way they handled the DLC was crazy. i dont think ill support another MW game. as for black ops ill support them because i LOVE zombies, and i will buy the zombie packs. i just wish i could get this at launch but due to money troubles im having to wait for AC3 and BOPS2. theres other games i of course want but im lucky if i can get 2!!! |

so do i buy BF4 and get screwed over with DLC that they always repackage later or buy CoD:mw4 where the DLC might go on sale?
the Elite Season Pass cost more than when they put the 4 DLC packs on sale during M$'s deal of the week where as BF3's season pass came after the DLC and was cheaper to buy the whole package a year later.
MP is pretty awesome in both games, maybe they can make SP fun again? |

its not exactly on the same pace. cod is coming out annually as opposed to guitar hero, which actually had 3 or 4 games put out in 1 year. that franchise got ran into the ground, covered in gas, lit on fire and left out in the cold (and took an entire genre with it). |

I have mixed feelings on this. I am happy to see another Infinity Ward project underway for next year, but on the other hand I'm disappointed they've decided to continue the Modern Warfare series so soon. I would very much like to see them get creative with the time period and not just use the same "near-future" theme that the last three titles have.
If anything, I feel like a return to the Modern Warfare series should be delayed until the next console generation so it can come back feeling fresh and exciting rather than just more of the same... |

| What IW doing is clever marketing. There creating a 5-10 hr storyline and earn $100+ million in the first few weeks. Nobody is going to stop them but the consumer. If people stop buying there product, they wouldn't be in the spotlight anymore. Its simple, don't buy. Let them restrategize there game plan in creating a better storyline or new IP. |

| Black Ops is okay, modern warfare is just bad. The first Modern Warfare was the best, the rest were just garbage. At least Black Ops has a good multiplayer and zombies. |

The game was never about the *main* story arc anyhow. With 5-10 hours worth of gameplay, you know they don't put a terrible amount of thought into it to begin with. They'll bank on some new multiplayer tidbit they'll call a revolution or something dumb, their 1200 msp map packs and the legions of people who will still line up to buy and are probably already screaming "take my money now!".
Easy formula = win for crappy companies. |

| That being said, I agree with #97 & 102 and anyone prior to them with the same ideas. I like black ops but only for zombies and I like how they're trying to do something different. But infinity ward is awful and they will continue to do the same thing. I would really like to see a call of duty set in 1812 that flips back and forth between the war in US against Britain and the war in Russia against France. |

I love how everyone here blames each other for CoD's continued success like the x360a community represent everyone who plays videogames. Seriously, we're maybe like 1% of the gaming community. MAYBE. So can we stop with all the "LoL U all say its sh*t but you F*GS will still buy it every year!"
Yes, people buy call of duty every year. Millions of them. So no, IW will not stop churning out the same game that's making them untold billions of dollars. But here's an idea: Instead of clogging up the news articles with comments about how unoriginal it is, sigh and move on; leave the comments to people who may actually be interested in the newest CoD.
There's plenty out there for people who want new IPs, for example last weekend I got my full 1k on Dishonored, genuinely amazing fresh new game. We have bioshock, bulletstorm, dark souls... Bashing CoD doesn't make you seem like a "true" hardcore gamer; it makes you seem like a dick who's jumping on the 'Lets all hate CoD' bandwagon. Just ignore it and play better games. |

| #90, Believe it or not people generally don't complain about good games that come out that are not annual releases unlike COD also i would imagine that there is more loyalty from gamers of those games and they don't jump ship so dramatically when the newest release comes out. Its also possible that since those games have depth there is more reason to be invested. |

They can release these bi-weekly from now until the end of time for all I care. If I buy any of them it won't be the ones that say Infinity Ward on the cover. Modern Warfare 2 broke the camel's back. Modern Warfare 3 made me wanna break a camel's back.

| It was great when it come out then something new and refreshing after so many WWII games, a game set in modern day combat cool!..but now its not sooo cool anymore, to be honest i kinda wish with the gamemarket being flooded now with modern warfare shooters for a great WWII shooter game again with a good MP section. Almost want to time travel back into time when Day Of Defeat was still a beta and mod for Half-Life oh jolly good times and how did i loved and enjoyed playing it and not to mention community was great to! Ah well you probly can,t blame Activision as long as gamers buy COD,s and not protest openly we probly will see another MW5 and Black Ops III. |
