Getting worried about this non EU date not confirmed, i mind this happened to Jurassic Park didnt it?Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 06:51 AM
My dictionary doesn't even have that many pages. Damn.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 06:52 AM
awesome, i own the first 7 hardbacks fantastic comic :D enjoying the game as well, just need the new episode, the series is pretty badass too :DMonday, October 22, 2012 @ 06:53 AM
@1 yea they don't have a publisher in the eu to push this stuff, problem with jurassic park though is that the game sucked and people knew it, all people here about this is good things so I assume it will come to eu shortly afterMonday, October 22, 2012 @ 06:55 AM
Please have a seperate achievement list with 1000 gamerscore. I want to play this game again.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 06:58 AM
What about the European release date (if there is one), goddammit..Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 06:59 AM
Rip off. You're pretty much paying $40 for them to add a different cover to the same compendium you can buy on Amazon brand new for around $30. I'm usually all over collectors editions but this is nothing more than a repackaging and a price hike. Save your money, get the standard edition and buy the compendiums separately. That way you'll have all the matching covers too.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 07:02 AM
Might have to pick this up :DMonday, October 22, 2012 @ 07:04 AM
WANT. Too bad it probably wont be coming to AustraliaMonday, October 22, 2012 @ 07:07 AM
@5 odds are really against it as do you ever remember a arcade release on a disc getting its own achievements. Its never happened and probable never will, as even doom 3 took 400 points off the game due to having doom 1 and 2 on the discMonday, October 22, 2012 @ 07:08 AM
If I didn't already have all the episode so far I'd get this (when its released in the UK). But since I do I'll just buy the compendium off amazon.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 07:09 AM
I hope this means that episode 5 will be available to download by December 4th, if not, then that would be a real stab in the back to those of us that have supported this series since the beginning.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 07:19 AM
#7 has a point.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 07:19 AM
Man, I'd probably get that if I didn't already have the compendium and the rest of the collections, that's a sweet deal.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 07:26 AM
please come to the UK. 1) I am waiting for the 5th Ep to be release before I buy them all and 2) I was procrastinating over buying the 1st compendium.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 07:33 AM
No thanks, ill get the standard, no more money grabbing.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 07:34 AM
Hope the collection comes to the UK as I've been holding off buying them as I prefer boxed games. No too bothered about the Collectors Edition though as I already have the first two compendiums, and it will work out cheaper getting it separately online!Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 07:40 AM
If it is a new set of cheevos i am in for a second buy.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 08:08 AM
Oh man this is a must!Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 08:21 AM
Well at least i dont feel ripped off as the downloadable episodes in total (assuming episode 5 is also 400 points) is $5 cheaper than buying the retail disc :)Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 08:27 AM
Was excited at first, just got into the series-thanks NetFlix, then saw the price... In agreement with #7. Gonna get the Compendium from Amazon, buy the episodes either on disc separately or through the arcade and save a little money!Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 08:39 AM
they will not be adding a different 1000 Gamerscore to the retail version of the game. it will still have the exact same 500 Gamerscore 100 for each episode. so whoever thinks they will do that you might not want to get your hopes up because it will never happen.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 08:51 AM
Well I already have episodes one through four so why would i buy the retail version at all?Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 09:03 AM
haha are they mental? $30 for the disc version, when the Arcade is $25. Usually good things come to those who wait, but in this case it's just a blatant rip-off. Who's going to spend all that money for a comic book and a game that took almost a full year to release. If I remember correctly the first episode came out in April. SMHMonday, October 22, 2012 @ 09:12 AM
Not worth the price in my opinion, better off buying each separetly. Though worth getting the Compendium easily. ^_^Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 09:16 AM
We have been discussing this on the forums. It's cheaper to buy the book and game seperate hahaMonday, October 22, 2012 @ 09:27 AM
Yeah, its cheaper to DL it, but DL has no resale value. You can buy the game and sell it on once its done.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 09:29 AM
The book itself (based on the price listed on the book) is $65, so you're basically buying the book and paying for a $5 game.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 09:33 AM
@28 nope browse a little online and at amazon it's actually $35 I believe for the compendium ! The exact same version as this!Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 09:37 AM
For those who are asking why the retail is $30 etc. Publishing a game costs money for the case, inlay, shipping and distribution costs etc. So that's why there is an extra $5 on top of the Arcade download release, which need none of these costs included. Also, what about the people who have no internet/access to XBL? Its ideal for these people.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 10:07 AM
@1. Telltale doesn't have a good world connection, they don't have a publisher for the EU to manufacture it to PAL.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 10:18 AM
Damn. I want this. Hate XBLA games that come out on disc, because I'd prefer to have the boxed version for my shelf. Have already bought these, so guess I'm gonna have second copies. Oh well. MS should reaaally look into something for us to do with our XBLA games - if I could gift the DLs to somebody else since I have the disc, I would be soo much happier.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 10:20 AM
each volume of the graphic novel costs around £12-£25 so this will be a bargain!! im definitely getting this when theres an EU release date!!!Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 10:42 AM
Very Cool!Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 11:40 AM
@32 They stated when the first episode came out that there would be a retail release...so this shouldn't come as a surprise. In fact, the only reason I haven't bought the episodes yet is because I was waiting for this. Sure, the game costs $5 more for the disc version. But after I lend it to 2 of my friends, we save $45 as a group instead of each of us spending $25 to download it. I'll pay the extra $5 without hesitation. As for the comic...if its a $40 increase in this bundle, but costs $30 online....I'm still buying this bundle. Sure....I could save a couple $ buying online, but paying $30 + shipping + waiting several days isn't worth saving a measly $5 or so after shipping costs. I'll gladly pay the couple extra $ and save the hassle. To each his own.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 12:14 PM
@7 Stuff like this happens all the time, but good job for letting others know about the alternative.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 12:22 PM
@23 ...You wouldn't? You've quite evidently missed the point of this retail release. OT: No news on a europe release then? *Sighs* Might just pick up the series online eventually, if I have some cash spare end of term.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 12:27 PM
@ 5 Why would they do a seperate achievement list for 1000g? I've already seen too many people asking this and it needs to stop.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 01:06 PM
i already have all the comics, so ill just get the standardMonday, October 22, 2012 @ 01:51 PM
since i already downloaded all 4 episodes i might as well wait for episode 5 on november. but my local gamestop informed me that there will be another retailed walking dead game early next year 2013 not episodes but a game that shows what happened before the walkers, in other words how it all started has anyone else heard of thisMonday, October 22, 2012 @ 02:01 PM
#7 & #29, Amazon's price is $35.99 for compendium #1. If you are a Prime member its free two day shipping but for me it's still a couple bucks, so there isn't much of a savings. Now if you want to save the most download the games and save another $5. If someone is like me and still has yet to buy any of the games, it may be worth the few extra bucks to get it all in one big pack. At least consumers have choice.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 02:02 PM
i believe this is the first telltale game to be both on disc and arcade? theres a chance it will have 1000 gs since back to future on ps3 and jurrasic park both had arcade trophies and platinumsMonday, October 22, 2012 @ 02:08 PM
@40 there was an article on here awhile ago about an actual walking dead game coming out. had screen shots and some other infoMonday, October 22, 2012 @ 02:12 PM
NZ wants...... boooo-urns!Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 02:58 PM
To my fellow Australian (and NZ) gamers. Even if this doesn't get released here, but gets released in UK, we can just get it imported as it will be PAL and will work on our consoles. Ozgameshop.com which is a UK based site has awesome prices too and will probably be cheaper than purchasing retail here :) I just hope you can install it completely to the HDD unlike all other XBLA compilation discs.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 03:03 PM
Yes!!! This is why I waited & didn't download each episode.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 04:16 PM
I bought the compendium last year for £25 off Amazon and with the release of the second one next month, it will most likely be cheaper now.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 05:00 PM
All I see on EBgames website is The Walking Dead by Activision.Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 06:50 PM
Too bad i've already read 1-48Monday, October 22, 2012 @ 08:51 PM
#47 Compendium #2 came out 6 days ago. They're both available on Amazon for $35 eachSaturday, October 27, 2012 @ 03:06 PM
preordered! Evenn though I own it on xbox lolSaturday, October 27, 2012 @ 03:44 PM
I think this is more for the hardcore fans of the walking dead, Considering trying to be the walking dead comics 1-48 is not only next to impossible now but, Extremely expensive.. As for me since I love the walking dead, I will have all 3 covers, #1 arcade that was released and these 2 that differ for the disc. Some people just love it more then others. It's not really about going to a site or a store. I know a few people that will buy it just for osmething to read on the pot and sell the game.Tuesday, October 30, 2012 @ 07:13 PM
I would buy the collectors edition over the regular if I have't already purchased episodes 1-4. I knew that they were going to put the episodes on one disc fro $30 before I bought episode 3, but I couldn't wait for the disc to come out.Friday, November 02, 2012 @ 09:57 PM
@ #53 I had bought 1 and 2.. I was about to purchase 3 and 4 when I read this. I threw in my pre-order already.. The family got pissed at me cause it was supposed to be a christmas present HA!Tuesday, November 20, 2012 @ 10:34 AM
Any news about the EU release date? I am hoping to get this as an Xmas present if it is likely to be out in time lol

Zombie fanciers, rejoice! The Walking Dead is not only winging its way towards you on a shiny disc that will be sold in retail shops, but GameStop in North America is offering an Exclusive Collector's Edition of the disc-based release, which comes with a nice little extra.
We say little, but it's actually pretty big. You get The Walking Dead Compendium One bundled with the game, both of which come with exclusive cover art from mainstay Walking Dead artist Charlie Adlard. The compendium collects issues 1-48 of the comic book, which translates to over 1000 pages of Walking Dead graphic novel goodness.
The Walking Dead is completely amazing, by the way. You'll be able to snap it up on disc - assuming you haven't already voraciously devoured each downloadable episode - on December 4th in North America for $29.99. The GameStop Collector's Edition will set you back $69.99. An EU release date has yet to be confirmed.
