@30 Infinity Ward devved MW3,not treyarch giving them plenty more time to develop it. It's far from failing, from a business perspective, the series has become a cash cow. Why spend a few years on a game being as innovative as possible when they can just tweak the multiplayer, cobble together a single player mode, throw in some zombies and box it?
Having said that, they appear to have made a fair ammount of significant changes and I'd be lying if I said I didn't love the multiplayer. They have the balance of realism and 'game' just right. I don't have the patience to play the more realistic FPS games, fast paced is more interesting to me. The fact is: people don't like change. If they were to change it too much a lot more people would complain, change it a little and a fraction complain. It's a short dev time, yes, but it works for them. (For now). |
