Capcom has announced Darkstalkers Resurrection for Xbox Live Arcade and teased an all-new entry to the fighting game series.

Darkstalkers Resurrection is a modern refitting of the second and third game in the series - Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge and Darkstalkers 3.

Both titles come with horrible HD smoothing, plus perfectly acceptable challenges, Achievements, a spectator mode, YouTube sharing and anti-lag tech. It's out early next year.

Perhaps most excitingly of all, however, Capcom has also teased a new entry to the series. On stage at New York Comic Con last night, the publisher unleashed a CG trailer called, “Darkstalkers are not dead.” The publisher wants to make Darksiders 4, but intends to guage the popularity of Resurrection to see if it's a viable option.

So if you want a proper new sequel, get saving your MSP up for next year.
