Now that's my kinda woman!!!!Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 08:14 AM
Your robot companion looks badass! I hope the customization skins are for him as wellFriday, October 05, 2012 @ 08:20 AM
That pic was disappointing, on the dlc piece of paper the robot was painted dark and look scary-ish. Just looks like a hung of junk now.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 08:24 AM
I hope she's related to Tiny Tina. Make it rain!Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 08:30 AM
I got dlc code for her with my game? Does that just entitle me to get her now? LolFriday, October 05, 2012 @ 08:36 AM
@6: everyone gets it on the 16th. non pre-orders have to payFriday, October 05, 2012 @ 08:42 AM
Wonder if they'll fit her into the intro sequence with the other characters.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 08:48 AM
Is Deathtrap Gaige's Action Skill? Or are they two distinct characters with two separate Action Skills?Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 09:04 AM
Still waiting for a patch for the game to fix the freezing issues that I among many people are experiencing...Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 09:04 AM
@9 It's her Action Skill, similar to how Axton deploys his turret.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 09:24 AM
@10 No idea what freezing issues you're talking about. There hasn't been a game that worked better for me and my friends than this one. And we've been playing A LOT.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 09:29 AM
@12: There is a bug/glitch that only effects some people where upon autosave of the game, the game freezes. This problem is effecting me, but not my co-op buddies. According to the Xbox forums, it's been happening to other people as well... Here is the post, along with 4 pages including people who're having the same problem. As I said though, this isn't effecting everyone, just some people: http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_360_games/a_d/borderlands_2/f/2527/t/339662.aspxFriday, October 05, 2012 @ 09:36 AM
I started following Gaige on twitter yesterday where this screen first appeared. She tweets about stuff dealing with her abilities and such too. giving out a bit of info about how she works before she gets released!Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 09:39 AM
nice but its a shame i have to payfor it my preorder got lost in the post (probably stolen) had to get a redespatch of game via special delivery so im gunna have to pay for something i should be entitled to damn :( owell brilliant game nonetheless :DFriday, October 05, 2012 @ 09:57 AM
@ 9 @11 Did you not read the post. It said that both Gaige and Deathtrap have their own skill trees. My guess is that Deathtrap is alway following her and shooting bad guys. When she levels up so does he. Pretty much like Axton's turret but always out but less powerful. Remember they did say it was nicknamed the "girlfriend character" so when your girlfriend plays with you she won't be dying all the time.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 10:11 AM
Neat but disappointing that they are going to milk fans out of money with optional extra classes, lame.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 10:13 AM
@16: True, but I'm also sure I read here that that 'Girlfriend mode' you speak of is just one of her skill tree's, and that veteran players will find her other skill tree's more to their taste. Either way, I'm looking forward to it. Maya will have to move aside for the other lady character come the 16th. Hope to have gone through Maya's playthrough by then. :)Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 10:23 AM
LegitFriday, October 05, 2012 @ 10:35 AM
Does anyone else think that he has a seat on his left shoulder? Could this possibly be some form of combination ability? For example Gaige jumps on Deathtrap and automatically shoots enemies, whilst you take control of Deathtrap for the duration? That would be amazing if so!! :DFriday, October 05, 2012 @ 10:44 AM
@20 in the reveal pic (linked in the story) she was sitting on his shoulder, I would say there's a good possibility of that.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 10:49 AM
Once this comes out everyone will be a Mechromancer, counting me. I wonder how a team of 4 Mechromancers will and can do! I'm hoping they bring more characters, maybe bring over the original 4 as playable characters or a creature tamer character where you can summon 1 of 3 creatures to fight by your side too.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 11:07 AM
Looks cool, but I got really spoiled with Salvador and never needing to buy health or ammo. Yeah, I know that makes me lazy. However, I hope they include progression achievements for her to encourage play with the new class.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 11:14 AM
Love the game can't wait for the new character. Currently playing siren on playthrough 1. Level 34 right now. I will play gaige nextFriday, October 05, 2012 @ 11:25 AM
I'm not even done fiddling with my first character yet, but can't wait to try this one out. I realise how ADD I am when I play this game. Even on TVM every time I decide to continue the story missions I get sidetracked by something else. This game is by far one of the biggest time sinks I've ever played and I mean that in the best way possible. It's my GOTY.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 12:09 PM
@ 17 just don't buy them then its not like you have to buy a code to play online so be happyFriday, October 05, 2012 @ 12:35 PM
Is this part of the season pass content?Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 12:36 PM
Looks cool and right around my birthday too! I should be well done with RE6 by then to jump back and give her a spin (not that sort of spin=P)Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 12:44 PM
@17 Its about fucking time we get extra chars for a rpg game, if you dont want ut then dont buy. Simple logic dipshitFriday, October 05, 2012 @ 12:49 PM
hmm. never pre-ordered but had the code for this come in the box as well as a shift code. maybe it was simply put in the first batch published or someone cancelled a pre-order. haven't even finished with one character yet and with the wealth of games out this q4 i may be too busy for a second playthrough...for now.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 01:46 PM
@30 The code should have been on your receipt or emailed to you. The codes weren't put in the boxes.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 02:17 PM
I wish this released with the game, this was the class I wanted to be! Aw well. Looks good and if I ever do another borderlands 2 play-through, ill probably use the mechomancerFriday, October 05, 2012 @ 02:41 PM
Cannot wait to play as this class. It looks like a lot of funFriday, October 05, 2012 @ 02:53 PM
http://m.youtube.com/?reload=3&rdm=mazohc3ic#/watch?v=Ijs-FEk3OIk Gaige has posted her first ECHO Log on youtube.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 03:25 PM
I have found my next class.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 04:11 PM
It's like Tiny Tina, but with robots.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 04:27 PM
Would've made a bit more sense if she was a member of TK Baha's family (since they're mechanical geniuses/weapon designers), but that's something minor I suppose. :p Can't wait!Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 06:58 PM
Can't wait for the girlfriend mode.Friday, October 05, 2012 @ 08:20 PM
cant wait to she what she can really doFriday, October 05, 2012 @ 11:51 PM
@29 Where in my comment did I complain about having extra classes? Oh that's right, I didn't. I was saying that it's a shame they are charging 800MSP for future classes which is disappointing. They should have just had them as really difficult unlockables instead.Saturday, October 06, 2012 @ 12:54 AM
@24 Congratulations?Saturday, October 06, 2012 @ 12:58 AM
@22 Bro there's no way they'll add in the original 4 characters *SPOILERS* 1 of them's dead + you're going to be playing through the story with each dlc class so that wouldn't make ANY kind of sense meeting up with themSaturday, October 06, 2012 @ 07:55 AM
wonder if there will be any specific achievements for herSaturday, October 06, 2012 @ 09:58 AM
its cool i guess to have new characters added, but i'm not to fond of the idea.. i'd rather have New Story related content. which would obviously pave the way for Borderlands 3. but idk thats just my opinion.Saturday, October 06, 2012 @ 12:10 PM
@27 no, its notSaturday, October 06, 2012 @ 12:53 PM
cant wait for thisSaturday, October 06, 2012 @ 12:56 PM
Looks awesome but I definatly prefer the concept art picture, hopefully I can find a skin that makes deathtrap look similar to the concept art. Never the less I am really excited to see how she plays!Saturday, October 06, 2012 @ 07:12 PM
@30 My premiere code came in the box, not email or reciept. And I agree that the Mechromancer looks awesome, but I just kinda hope the fututre classes aren't all going to be 800pts, maybe if they had a pack of 3 that would cool, but its a little pricey for 1 in my opinion.Saturday, October 06, 2012 @ 09:54 PM
@16 I think the post is wrong. I think that there is a skill tree that will buff up Deathtrap. It will be one of the possibilities, and if I remember correctly, I think the tree is called Best Friends Forever, but I am not sure.Sunday, October 07, 2012 @ 03:16 AM
Do you think if you change her skin the skin for death trap changes aswell?Sunday, October 07, 2012 @ 05:18 AM
@31 mine was included in my box, maybe that's just for the store you bought it at. Also this should just unlock if you are a premier club member (I'm betting that's saved somewhere). And also wondering if they are going to do more stuff for premier members (smaller ofcourse, maybe some new weapons?)Sunday, October 07, 2012 @ 08:18 PM
I agree with #44. New characters < new story content.

We don't normally get all that excited about a single screenshot, unless it's something really exceptional, and indeed in this case we will choose to make an exception. This is a first proper look at Borderlands 2's Mechromancer, Gaige since the reveal of her final design last month.
Gaige has her own death-dealing robot, fittingly called Deathtrap, who follows her around and racks up a few kills to help out. Both Gaige and Deathtrap have their own skill trees to level up, like the rest of Borderlands 2's classes. Gearbox is apparently planning more classes in the future to be offered as DLC too.
The Mechromancer is set for release on October 16th for 800 Microsoft Points. She's also free for anyone who pre-ordered Borderlands 2. Check her out below. For more DLC, you can also snap up the Season Pass for 2400 MSP. Read our Borderlands 2 review to find out what we thought of the shoot 'n' loot sequel.
