For over 15 years, Resident Evil has been plying its trade as the grandaddy of modern survival horror, from the schlocky first game and its sequels, to the ultra-polished third-person shooters we know today. Not everyone has been a fan of the series' recent, increasingly action focused fare however, which seems to be the route that Capcom wants to take with the series. For Resident Evil 6, Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield and Jake Muller continue down this very path, essentially picking up where Resident Evil 5 left off in gameplay terms. But has Capcom managed to retain the terror and suspense of past instalments, or is Resident Evil 6 a sign that the franchise is beginning to tread contaminated, stinking cesspool water? | |
