hooray im a legend :)Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:46 AM
what about those with ten times as much like @1? Let's face 25,000 isn't much considering how long the 360s been outFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:46 AM
I shouldn't complain about free stuff or rebates etc but I can't help but feel like this is a big middle finger in our general direction haha. 2%...Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:47 AM
so is this a one off or am i going to get 15p for every 3-9K cheevos?Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:47 AM
Whooo-hoo 30MSP unlocked! *YEAAAAAH* (Sarcasm included)Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:50 AM
Capped at 25k? Bit pointless that really. I'll look forward to my one off 15p avatar award and monthly income of a quid...Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:51 AM
Actually, a Quid is way too much. Probably 40p!Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:52 AM
15G? 2%? Hahahaha... wait... hahahahaha. O Microsoft... you do entertain me.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:52 AM
2%.........wow, i'm sure i will notice that after i buy about 500 things off the marketplace.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:54 AM
* Birthday Gift (approximate retail value ("ARV"): $0.25 USD)Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:54 AM
I know something is better than nothing but "barely" springs to mind.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:55 AM
lol.... this is a fucking joke!!! lets just say you spend £10 pounds a month on xbox live content (1200msp) you would get 20p back a month.. thats £2.40 over a year and don't forget that extra special 15p gift!!! So for all the effort people put in playing on the xbox and earning achievements they reward you with £2.55 over a year!! and don't forget to get that you spent £120 on xbox live content and ~£30 on a live subscription... fuck you Microsoft... you wanna keep your customers coming back you'll have to do MUCH better than that or don't bother!!Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:56 AM
Um, 25K isn't a particularly hard feet to achieve. But whatever, its something I guess.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:57 AM
This amuses the Chief.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:58 AM
That's just lame. Gold user should get 75% off deals every week or something.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:58 AM
Well, anything back is nice. Better in my virtual pocket than Microsoft's. But I can just see the balances now: thanks to this month's rebates I now have 74MS points... what can I buy with that? And for those who buy their points knowing exactly what they're buying... a balance of 16 points. Great. ;-)Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:59 AM
And is the 'gift' worth 15 points or 15 pence?Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:02 AM
Unlocked everything instantly....... Well it was nice while it lasted. Shame it doesn't go past '25000' since that's pretty low from my view.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:03 AM
WOW! Never been called a legend before Not that I can get my damn Gamertag to appear on the screen to prove it lolFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:03 AM
@14 To be fair, it's a negligible reward, but it's better than fuck all. It's not exactly 'effort' to play on the 360, it's meant to be a fun hobby...Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:06 AM
Meh can't complain.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:06 AM
@17, 75% would be awesome but that may be asking too much. 25% would be fair i think.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:07 AM
So my birthday month is this month and I've activated this on my rewards, where do I get my pathetic birthday reward, or do I now have to wait for next year?Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:07 AM
@21 you have to make a certain number of forum posts before you can show your gamertagFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:07 AM
Its about time. Although they are crap dealsFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:08 AM
I hope we in EU get this also.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:08 AM
Microsoft really do love taking the piss out of their costumers.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:10 AM
Hopefully they add some tiers past 25k, but either way its better than nothing I guess.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:12 AM
I agree that these arent exactly hugely rewarding but still no one seemed to mind playing for achievements when it got them nothing.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:12 AM
Why not in my country ??Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:12 AM
I activated it and received almost 1200 points back. Clearly, I play too many games.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:15 AM
5% would have been more reasonable for 25,000GS+.. Why Microsoft even bother with 1 and 2% is just silly really, almost an insult.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:16 AM
It's related to gamerscore? Wank. It's be cool if you got discounts on games' DLC where you unlocked the hardest achievement (ala The Shadows rushed Me, Hard To The Core). While we'd probably see an upswing in difficulty (yay!) there'd also be some games that go in the time consuming shite direction like GOW3's Seriously 3.0Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:20 AM
What if you have 95000+ GS?? What's the discount for that? Almost at 100000.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:21 AM
Eurgh, I have to wait until July for the birthday gift. On the bright side, this is definitely a step in the right direction, more rewards for playing please.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:24 AM
They should make 90000+ Xbox God.. LolFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:26 AM
@14 considering you were getting nothing back to doing this previously, its better give something back now right? Even if it isn't alot.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:26 AM
This is US only as always sadly :(Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:28 AM
According to this I'm a legend, and have been since I was 16. I'm sure I'll really notice that massive 2% rebate after, oh, I don't know, two years, maybe. Hooray?Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:29 AM
Urgh, my b'day was august 31st....12 months to wait then. Well, that's the day I kljoined live. It may be the date you join rewards, like the Xbox loves you tee.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:29 AM
"Unfortunately, you can't join Xbox LIVE Rewards right now. It's strictly because the program is not available in your country. Check back often as new countries are being added to the program." Well, sadly i have to wait.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:32 AM
.. but not in my country? :(Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:33 AM
US & UK only?Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:36 AM
Not in the Netherlands :|Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:38 AM
This Avatar and Hannah Montana I knew playing you would be worth itFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:40 AM
Apparently I'm a legendFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:43 AM
I knew something like this was coming because it'd been mentioned on the rewards website a few months ago. Glad they're finally getting it in place although it kinda sucks that they didn't start a little sooner. My g/f is in the 10k-24.9k and I'm in the 25k+, both of which include b-day gifts... and both of our b-days are in September (hers was yesterday actually). Still an awesome thing to implement =)Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:43 AM
its stuff for free that you didnt get before... stop bloody whining they arent exactly gonna give you free fucking games for getting them its just a small incentiveFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:44 AM
Wooo! legend status right off the bat. And people said achievements were usless.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:45 AM
Unfortunately, you can't join Xbox LIVE Rewards right now. It's strictly because the program is not available in your country. Check back often as new countries are being added to the program. __ Fuck that.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:49 AM
Well...I guess it's better than the nothing we used to have.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:51 AM
Off topic, does that green controller exist? Last I remember I didn't. On topic, I remember reading that they were going to give you straight up MSP of you reached so many achievements a month, which would have been betterFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:58 AM
I've been a member since 2010 in the UK, so at least everyone here should get this?Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:59 AM
Damn, 15p and 2% off. Thanks, Microsoft.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:03 AM
Works in Canada, that's a first. Normally this stuff is US and UK only. Also, remember the average Xbox Live user only has about 10k GS. It's why the GS levels for this are so low.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:04 AM
I kinda think seeing other levels at like 50k, 100k and 200k would have been a nice nod to those who put the time into their games and give us something more to work for.. sorta :Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:09 AM
For the birthday think, it say you need to unlock the level on the first day of the month. Since the offer have start now, does that mean that the people who have their birthday in september(like me) are screw up ?Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:09 AM
Or... They could have just done nothing at all, and you'd have been none the wiser and not whining about how 'paltry' an offer this is like little bitches, lol! I, for one, will be happy to earn my £2.40 back every year. It will make my yearly gold subscription that bit cheaper :)Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:14 AM
It aint much, but its more free stuff from a free program. No one has any room to complain on this. Will be nice to finally be rewarded for achievements.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:16 AM
I understand why they had to be aggressively cautious with this, you do not want to incentive-ise cheating more than already happens, but this seems a bit... meh, nonetheless. Better than nothing, sure, but only just.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:17 AM
I know a lot of people are complaining its f all but its better than nothing right?Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:20 AM
too much negativity here...seeing as my birthday is Monday, I'll stay positive and accept the minor discount and free gift.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:22 AM
Of course, this doesn't work in Sweden. Humbug.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:23 AM

Sums up my thoughts ^^^^Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:25 AM
Nicely timed for the XBL beta testers to get a gift for their 10th anniversary. The low score requirement is probably due to the fact they based this around the average of all xbl members and not just the hardcore. Believe it or not most people don't care about achievements as far as the total install base is concerned.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:29 AM
MS: "Hey guys, we're gonna put 'achievements' in games. they unlock when you complete certain tasks and are assigned points dependent on the difficulty." Gamers: "Do they do anything?" MS: "No, it's just kind of a way to show off your gaming skill. You can compare achievements and gamerscores with your friends, etc." Gamers: "Oh, so it's a gamerpenis!" MS: "Yeah pretty much." Gamers: "Well that's neat I guess. It'll be fun to see how many we can get" *A bit later* MS: "Hey guys, remember how achievements haven't really been worth anything other than a gamerpenis?" Gamers: "Yeah, why?" MS: "Well, we're wanting to award people for their gamerscore! It's not much, but we hope you'll like it. We know some of you have really huge gamerscores, and that's awesome, but we set the reward levels a lil lower so it's more attainable for pretty much anyone. What do ya think?" Gamers: "OMG I HAVE A HUGE GAMERPENIS THAT I OBTAINED PURELY FOR MY OWN PURPOSES BECAUSE I KNEW ACHIEVEMENTS DIDN'T DO ANYTHING! AND NOW YOU DECIDE TO GIVE PEOPLE SOMETHING FOR FREE FOR NO REASON OTHER THAN YOU JUST WANT TO!? AND YOU MAKE THE REWARD LEVELS LOW ENOUGH SO THAT THE MAJORITY OF YOUR CUSTOMERS DON'T FEEL LIKE IT'S SOMETHING THEY'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO DO!!!!??? HOW DARE YOU!!! *RAAAAAAGGGGGEEEEE* Seriously... they don't HAVE to reward us with anything. Gamerscore was completely pointless up to this point. Yeah, 2% isn't much, but most rewards credit cards don't even give you 2% back on purchases... and they charge you 29% interest! Cost is another factor.. there's how many hundreds of thousands of 360 owners? Big company or no, if you decide you want to give a b-day gift to that many people, it's going to cost a bit and you're going to want to keep that cost low. MS is a business, not a charity organization. I don't get why some people feel so entitled all the time.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:31 AM
That's good move from Mircosoft because they realise how much players and achievement hunters love achievements lots and should bring discounts for it because we all support many games and achievements. Fair to be seem. :DFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:32 AM
@26 Please look between both 21 and 22 to see where you went wrong there. Or 68, for that matter. OT: Wow, this is really tempting me to get my Gold back! A whole 2%! That 15p could be a dealbreaker.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:35 AM
Finally achievements do something beside personal amusement!Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:39 AM
Considering I've spent at least 4000 points on arcade games this month, this is very welcome. That's at least 80 points back, plus 20 for doing the survey. Not too bad.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:46 AM
2% rebate, why bother!!!Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:49 AM
legend :DFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:53 AM
I think this is a great start, but would like to see expansion. Every 10k of achievements could unlock another percentage point in the rebate incentive. Put a cap at 200k with 20% as the max. The sheer amount of time it would take to get there will discourage most people which is a natural stop-gap. Further protections for easy boosting to hit that number could be a time freeze for when the rebate grows, like you wouldn't be able to do more than 15k a month. If you do, the balance could spill into the next month. For someone just starting out then, on January 1st for argument sake and this person consistently hits that 15k on the nose that's fourteen months. The rebate is just going to pour back into a wallet that will most likely end up going toward purchase of content from XBL anyhow. It doesn't just have to be those percentage points but that's where my head went. It'll never happen, but hey it's not like I was going to stop using Live if something like this never took place so it's better than nothing. It's just not nearly as aggressive a program as it could be to counter the PS+ incentives already in place. The one thing that makes it somewhat level with PS+ is the rebate return as it stands might match the PS+ discounts. I'm probably wrong on that score though. Ah well.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:58 AM
Just remember guys, I know this is epicly exciting, but please dont spend your 15p all at once.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:59 AM
@76: Sorry for double post. The last sentence in the first paragraph is missing its point. I meant to say it'll work out for Microsoft either way because rebate savings will go toward purchases on XBL. Not sure if that was clear. Hope it is now.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:08 AM
I've always wanted them to do something like this. Get some recognition for whoring our pay checks to MicrosoftFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:14 AM
Its a cool idea, especially since we have to deal with the non gamer friendly dashboard. Its free, so kudos to MS.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:15 AM
@33 what the hell are you talking about? I don't think they're gonna backdate anything..Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:17 AM
1%- 2%.. 15points... LMAO....Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:18 AM
@81 it is backdated, basically I'm a legend for having more then 25k GS so I get 2% back on my market place purchases and a special item on my birthday (valued at $0.25)Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:21 AM
Iamgine the benefits of sunshine, a girlfriend or some booze.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:22 AM
@81 Yeah I read what #33 posted and he is an idiot, you 2% of your GS in points back, you get 2% rebate on future purchases.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:22 AM
OOPS imagine, that'll be the booze.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:24 AM
We're Sorry. Unfortunately, you can't join Xbox LIVE Rewards at the moment. It's strictly because the programme is not available in your country. Keep an eye out for announcements regarding new countries being added in the future. THANK YOU VERY MUCH MICROSOFT.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:24 AM
lol not supported in my country -____-Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:26 AM
A birthday present for a quarter? At least now I can say someone gives me less than my cheap-ass grandfather. Also, already being in the Legend category as soon as it is announced is kind of like the time in Skyrim I already went to dungeon and got the Dragon Stone or whatever and the court wizard was all like, "Damn. Well okay, cool, I guess."Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:33 AM
this is such a joke...... its like they are not even trying to compete with psn anymore... if sony could keep those types of deals in to next generation and finally get a party chat then i could see people buying ps4s in droves..Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:41 AM
Kinda disappointed with this, im headed to their forums to give them a piece of my mind...Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:54 AM
Yeah... this is it? Switching to PS4 on the next-gen. Plus is just better than Live... free games... on a gaming platform? Get right out of town. Also... so the difference of 15k points between Champion and Legend? Assuming you buy retail that's 15 games at 60 bucks US. So buying 900 USD worth of product entitles me to .... a difference of 8 MSP on a 10 dollar purchase? 8... effing... points... more? Seriously, why even bother?Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:59 AM
If somebody wants to hand me $0.25 every month for doing exactly what I plan on doing anyways, I'm not going to bitch about it. Apparently though, I'm in the minority.... Ugh...fucking gamers these days.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:59 AM
@69, What a waste of time.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:04 AM
It's better than nothing. I mean it could be more but it could still be nothing which is worse than this.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:04 AM
And Microsofts appreciation for their customer continues. I am not sure if they pissing around with this or actually being serious? Even if I spent $100 a week on Marketplace (which I don't even in amonth), I would get $2 (!@!#!!) back, that woudln't even buy me sandwich LOL Good ol' MS, Fuck you sideways=)Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:06 AM
I AM LEGEND!!Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:08 AM
It also says that you get a birthday gift, you never know it might be 1200MSP. Achievements get you nothing anyway so I don't see why your all complainingFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:09 AM
I'm sure for all the users of this site, taking into consideration how often we have a guide next to us on our laptop when we play our Xbox 360 games of choice or even contribute to guides for other users, this seems somewhat disappointing or offensive. But we're the achievement whores... There's got to be more than a few million other Xbox gamers who are reward zone members that learn of this new incentive, look at the tier caps, & say "Holy Shit! 25k?! There's no way I could ever get there! Not in MY lifetime..." That's who it's for. All we have to do is take their little surgery every month, or email them suggestions to make much higher caps with better incentives. If we make enough noise I'm sure Micro$oft will listen, & maybe implement it eventually.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:09 AM
I was hoping MS would do something similar like Club Nintendo where in each of their first party titles was a code, you get points for this code and with the points you can get prizes like maybe a Master Chief poster or MS points, just some little thing. I guess 2% is better than nothing but I certainly won't notice it until I buy a lot of the Marketplace. Or if they had increased the GS cap and gave like 5-10% off XBLM purchases.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:10 AM
2% off is better than 0% off. Or is it just me?Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:15 AM
Hard to complain about free, but some people still find a way.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:19 AM
So sad at the 98% complaining about this. I guess us 2% only appreciate it. Something is better than nothing. You never got nothing for achievements before but now you get something and still complain.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:20 AM
FUuuuuUUUUU!! I was born in August!Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:22 AM
Anything free in life is always good for me. One happy camperFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:25 AM
I want one of the trophies as my birthday present, not gonna happen but a guy can still dreamFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:26 AM
@93 I agree @94 I type pretty fast and had nothing going on at work at that time. I wouldn't have typed that if I'd felt like it'd be a waste of my time =) @95 Pretty much how I see it. Side note: 2 people apparently didn't like me calling them out on being ungrateful for getting something for doing nothing lol. Hell, they probably throw a rage fit when McDonald's gives them a free apple pie just for getting the combo they were going to get anywayFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:27 AM
I'm not going to complain. I've been doing bing rewards for ms points lately. I'll take everything I can get (gaming on a budget here lately.) Plus achievements are for some reason the only reason I've been gameing, so why complain over getting something back for what I already do? I do however agree with most of you on here. Add higher tiers (maybe over time) so some people may find that as a reason to keep going.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:28 AM
If I shit in a bag and gave it to you retards for free, you'd still be grateful.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:30 AM
I enjoy getting achievements regardless, but 2% is hardly worth it for the amount we spend. I would be excited if you had over 100,000GS and got 25% or even 10% rebate on your purchases. Would give me a little more incentive to probably but a few more things.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:31 AM
[insert childish whining here]Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:31 AM
funny thing, it still costs them nothing.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:39 AM
Congratulations hackers! ;)Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:40 AM
I get 2% back on purchases, but my friend who has a PS3 gets free games each month just for staying with PSN+. Hmmm guess I chose the wrong one :-(.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:49 AM
Not too bad, but you get FREE games with Playstation + See the difference? FREE games each month versus a few lousy MS points. Even I, as a 360 player, can see which company offers gamers the best value for their money. However, when you include Steam, Valve obviously wins. They have the best deals.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 10:53 AM
@114 Took the words right out of my mouth. :P But I disagree about choosing the 'wrong one'. I love my 360, I would never pick a PS3 over it if I could go back in time and choose again. The fanboys on here are probably going to hate us for this, I don't care.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:00 AM
@115 I've been seriously considering dumping gold and getting PlayStation+ for quite sometime now. This news does nothing to change my mind. Of course this is better then nothing, but if Microsoft seriously want to compete they need to do a lot better then this. Sure Microsoft have done well this generation but lets not forget the fates of the consoles change from one generation to the next. If Microsoft don't pull their finger out can they rely on loyal customers buying their next console?Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:01 AM
I'm a Legend, and I don't give a fuck! 2% is nothing, it's laughable that this is advertised as a rewards program.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:01 AM
@115 Last time I checked $20 a month for PlayStation+ isn't free...therefore the "free" games aren't FREE. CHECK & MATE.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:04 AM
@109 No, because there has never been any type of business relationship between you and the "retards" who actually appreciate getting a little something for doing something they were going to be doing anyway (playing games, unlocking achievements and buying stuff of the marketplace), so there's nothing for you to "reward" with your bag of shit. I just don't understand why people are getting SO bent out of shape with this. Gamerscore has been COMPLETELY worthless until today. If you have 100k GS, that's awesome for you, but you CHOSE to play that many games and/or get as many achievements as possible knowing goddamn well they don't do anything. Now MS says, "Hey, we're gonna give you guys a little extra something for free" and just about everyone is ungrateful. Gamerscore, whether it's 1000 or 1000000, has no direct influence on MS' profits, so expecting them to give you massive discounts because you've got a ton of achievements is ridiculous. The rewards program offers a LOT of other deals and bonus point offers every month. I watched NetFlix, played games and used the facebook app (would've done anyway) and got 300 msp that month. I bought a song pack for RB3 (that I was going to buy anyway) and got 240 msp. Renew your gold subscription, get MSP back. Refer a friend to xbox live gold, get MSP. This 1-2% bonus is just one extra reward on top of the other bonuses they offer. I've gotten over 800 MSP in the last few months for doing thing I would've done anyway (save doing a 3 minute survey each month, big deal).Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:07 AM
@119 what do you get for the annual fee for playing live?..... access to full arcade games with no extra cost... NO... access to full retail games on demand at no extra cost... of course NOT.... but you do get mediocre deals of the week and a measly 2% back on purchases so for example every 4000 points you spend you get a nice 80pts points back.... and lets not forget a cool 15pts for your b-day.. so CHECK & MATE.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:12 AM
@all you "why bothers" Don't bother enrolling then douchebags.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:12 AM
Why is it so hard for them to give this to ALL X360 players, and not just US!?! Why do US players get SOO much more stuff, like this reward system, Apps, more stuff on their marketplace etc! This is retarded!Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:18 AM
They seriously couldn't give out 800 points for someones birthday? Thanks for spending 7 years on xbox live and getting your gamerscore above 200k. Here is 15 points for your birthday. I mean you get 20 points for doing a fucking survey every month. I don't mean to complain, but at least during the old spice promotion I walked away with 2 free games.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:23 AM
This might not be much but i am impressed with this.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:27 AM
@121 Watch this...I'm gonna destroy your whole argument. When i signed up for Live i didn't expect anything for free and i didn't expect any discounts. I don't buy DLC or games on demand, why would I, I can get the games on disc for next thing to nothing. i can buy a game (on ebay or half.com) for $10-$40, beat it and then turn around and sell it for pretty much what i paid for it...so basically, IT'S All BUT FREE. From the beginning Playstation+ was marketed with the incentive of FREE games...well...THEY ARE NOT FREE WHEN YOU PAY $20 A MONTH OR WHATEVER IT COSTS A MONTH FOR THOSE FREE GAMES. U must be fuckin' retarded to not understand the concept. In closing...if you love the PS3 so much then GET YOUR STUPID FANBOY ASS OFF THIS SITE. AND YES........CHECK & FUCKIN' MATE.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:28 AM
On a site dedicated to achievements...i sure hope every1 here is a legend.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:28 AM
A lot of the posts on this topic blow my mind. You all sound like spoiled, entitled bitches. If it is so insulting for you don't sign up for it. Call MS and tell them you don't want their insulting rebates. What a bunch of babies.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:29 AM
in the fine print: " Limit: Up to 30,000 Microsoft Points can be earned per account for the entire Offer Period. " so if you spend $18,750 (30000 / .02 * .0125) in ms points, microsoft is going to shut you offFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:33 AM
Instant Legend... Bring more Tiers! I want to see GODLIKE xDFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:42 AM
@115 Though not everyone likes the free games PS+ offers.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:45 AM
@#126 I would just stop posting dumb shit like that. In summer promotion alone there was around $300 worth of solid content on PS+. Sure you won't download everything, because it's supposed to be something for everyone, but including games that just came out and are still $50 a pop is very nice incentive. Not to mention now you get 10% on selected titles available for preorder and sometimes you get 10-15% off brand new PSN titles. There is not a single think that has more value than PSN related to gaming (except for Steam maybe). On 360 you pay the same amount for Gold, but you get shit in return (unless you call that 2% back and actual reward) and from time to time a discount on some good arcade stuff. Oh and free avatar props. I LOL'd hard when I read your post, this has nothing do with you buying and reselling shit, we are talking about MS and Sony here....Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 12:03 PM
@119 Ah, there is the first one. See @121 and @132. It doesn't matter what you thought you signed up for. It's about what you get for your money. At Microsoft, you don't get as much as you do with Sony for the same amount of money. That's just a fact. Also, this is a discussion, not a game of chess. @177 Indeed, they really should step up their game for the next generation. At least they have a lot of trust from their customers. The PSN has been hacked (not sure how many times lol) before, I think the 360 gamers have more confidence in their online experience. So that's a good foundation. But it's not enough if they want to compete with Sony for the next gen of consoles. They have to do more.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 12:12 PM
Damn, my birthday was last week.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 12:30 PM
Well it's barely better than nothing. Complaining about this is kinda dumb.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 12:42 PM
YankeeBox 360, at least Sony does shit for everybody.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 12:45 PM
Side comment: My Gold subscription pretty much pays for itself each year between Deal of the Week and other sales they have. Plus the rewards program (which doesn't require Live, but they give incentive to join, like additional MSP. They also give 400 MSP for renewing a Gold subscription before it expires). I'm not terribly familiar with PSN+ as I don't even own a PS3, but if the $20 a month ($240/year) price is correct, then I'd hope like hell they offer better bonuses and incentives to the customers.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 12:59 PM
I know it's "free" points, but still? I mean if someone gave you a penny every week for the rest of your life after a couple years you could cash them in at the bank and buy yourself a nice, cheap lunch. With this? The new Xbox is going to come out next couple years, especially with the Wii-U jumping the gun, and I don't recall Microsoft talking about how they'll treat existing Xbox Live systems like gamerscore. I don't really think the 360 will be around long enough for the average person to take advantage of this deal. Legends get a full $1 back for every ($50) 4000msp card. This means to buy a map pack or arcade game for 800msp you would need to spend $500 on DLC, arcade games and avatar items. I don't think I've spent that much in my entire Xbox Live career. Think about this one, it would take between $100-$150 to get a free Avatar item (talking about the cheaper $2-$3 ones, not the $5 ones that are more popular, like the lightsabers).Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 01:02 PM
@137 PSN+ is actually $10 cheaper than Xbox Live per year. Their yearly subscription is only $50 compared to our $60. Total bullshit that we all pay an extra $10 a month for "free" apps that are already available to everyone that has internet... for no additional cost.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 01:03 PM
wow i'm far beyond 25k. hurray for 2%rebate i guessFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 01:05 PM
@#137 It's $50 or $60 a year. Don't listen to trolls;-)Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 01:05 PM
I guess I'm one of the happy ones here. Any saving is better than nothing. All those people saying 'if you have over 200,000 you should get 25% off'. Yeah right, in your dreams. And comparing this to PS+ isn't possible. On that service you are effectively renting games (that for some reason everyone thinks are 'free') and MS are giving you a rebate on what you buy. Judging by the sheer amount of DLC nowadays, it'll soon add up.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 01:29 PM
OMG GUYS SHUT UP ITS FUCKING FREE!Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 01:29 PM
Shouldn't it be 150p and 10% off? At least? Not complaining, just stating the obvious. 15p is NOTHING... nothing. 2% is shit all... SHIT ALL. You won't even notice it, unless you spend THOUSANDS of points a month. And giving us rewards, this late into the console cycle? smh Eh, whatever, I'll sign up, just to be called a Legend. LOL!Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 01:35 PM
Heck yeah, I'm a legend! Won't get my gift till next year though. :(Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 01:40 PM
25,000G is considered legend? PFFFT. Haha.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 01:46 PM
@136 that is to keep you from suing them for being careless with your personal informationFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 01:49 PM
Sweet project but not good enough, they shuold reward those players who have achievements over 100k.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 01:56 PM
25,000g legend status? Seriously? If my calculations are correct, at this rate, we will all own shares in Microsoft by the time the next xbox comes out.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 02:20 PM
This is a cool idea, but being only 200 GS away from the 100,000 mark, I would like to see the rewards go past 25,000.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 02:37 PM
lol at least they are finally extending the awards programme XD maybe they will expand this over time, kudos for the new idea and thanks for the big laugh in the mean time.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 02:44 PM
@ 2 what you gonna spend your 15p on lolFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 02:59 PM
lmao, I just broke 25k!Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 03:02 PM
really nice, although 1 or 2% isn't really much..Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 03:03 PM
Now I am starting to understand why they added an additional 40msp on the prices of games on demand. when I tried to purchase a game for $19.99 I was dumbfounded to find it now says the games are 1440 msp....FML.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 03:26 PM
meh ill take what ever i can get these days....still...if theres abit more i would be more grateful :)Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 03:40 PM
Well I'm in the UK and I've just set up my rewards scheme :/ So I don't see why people are saying it's US only...Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 03:49 PM
make it a 2% rebate for each 25,000 then it'd be kinda cool. 2% is shit.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 04:23 PM
hahaha, so if we buy something that cost $15 we will save 30 cents?!?!?!?!? hhahahahahaha eh either saved money is saved money. I tried to sign up but the site doesnt work.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 04:35 PM
be nice is the website worked! i NEVER had a problem logging into the rewards site til now???? WTF!Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 04:40 PM
I'll take free money off. I'm going to play and get achievements anyway, so some free money off is fair enough. I'd like ther to have been more tiers, but hey, I'll take whatever I'm given.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 04:52 PM
Well its not much, but its something. I already have over 64,000 so I certainly qualify for the top tier. 2% on 800p is 16p which is really only a couple cents, but its something. Overtime that can add up to enough ms points to get something for free.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 04:55 PM
and the majority still complains.... I think this is great news.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 05:05 PM
The majority always complains, this is the internet. Still I like it, they dont have to do this. Also I am a Legend!Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 05:23 PM
I agree with a lot of the comments on here. However, they really do need to consider more higher Gamerscores. I hope Microsoft start listening to not just the new recruits but also to the long term gamers.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 05:30 PM
Thanks M$, one more reward I can't access all because I'm not American! Oh well, already decided to switch to PS3 permanently when my gold expires, at least PS+ offers stuff here as well...Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 05:33 PM
Do not join the dark side @168Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 05:41 PM
Son of a bitch... Unfortunately, you can't join Xbox LIVE Rewards right now. It's strictly because the program is not available in your country. Check back often as new countries are being added to the program.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 05:53 PM
@159 Only 12 countries and 1 specific city can enter their stupid rewards thing. Namely Australia, Canada, Germany, Spain, France, Hong kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States. Good times, Microsoft... Good times.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 05:55 PM
25,000 is hardly legendary. At that rate my dad is at least like a champion and he doesn't even know how to turn the Xbox on.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:11 PM
You clowns that think PSN+ is anything short of a scam need to wake up. You own those games on LAYWAY! Once you cancle your sub, those games go bye bye! You don't even get to keep those games! LOL The ONLY REEDEEMING VALUE OF PSN+ are the DISCOUNTS YOU GET. Other than that it's a scam rental service... But still a lesser value than XBL when you consider the fact: 1. We get demos for every game. 2. We can actually communicate with our friends no matter what we are doing on the console. 3. We don't have to worry about gimped inferior multiplats 90% of the time 4. We don't have to worry about getting DLC late or none at all (I'm looking at you skyrim) 5. We get a much more richer experience than PSN.. PERIOD. I still have my PSN+ 3 month trial and absolutely refuse to activate it. Why? I refuse to own the digital copies of retail games, and half the games they give us every month, I have no intrest in. Then they throw in this automatic download Bullshit as a perk? It's not a perk, PS3 should have had auto downloads since day one alone with their pathetic lack of voice messaging. There is no value in PSN+. Sony should fix their fucking download and installation speeds before they start using free games to entice morons who don't realize that in reality... PSN+ is a rental service.. Nothing more.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 06:15 PM
@173 how can i like this comment more! :DFriday, September 28, 2012 @ 07:18 PM
C U Next Tuesday Sirs! Give a beggar a quid and he will buy a crate and sell it for a Tenner! Crikey! The world we live in! :-(Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:37 PM
I mean i guess it's cool, but I'd rather have them reward me with one of those chrome controllers in the picture.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 08:38 PM
@173 but they get online play for free and they're getting The Last of Us. I'm still kinda jealous.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:09 PM
@ 173 their free online isn't all it's cracked up to be bro, trust me. I'm still buying the Last of Us and Beyond, but after that I'll be selling my ps3 for the 3rd time. I'll pick up another one or borrow one from my friends if: 1. There is a new God Of War 2. There is a MGS5 3. There is a New Uncharted. I just want to clarify, I don't hate the games on PS3, I love their exclusives! I just hate the console they are attached to is all. I guess I have a right to bash though since I've owned them both off an on since launch. Definitely play the Last Of Us though! It's going to be awesome as Naughty Dog is pretty much the Gods of Ps3 coding! Peace!Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:31 PM
Time for MS to steal from sony and offer something along the lines of Playstation Plus. we need deep discounts on older on demand games. maybe a twice yearly sell on all XBLA games. a bit more free games tossed out there every now an then would be nice to and not Kinetic games.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:33 PM
Sweet, I'm an automatic Legend without even trying really.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 09:50 PM
I'm not sure why anyones complaining. Until recently you didn't even get a discount or anything, now you do. What did you expect Microsoft to give you the amount of MS points that you have in gamerscore? I admit it would be nice to see some higher tiers added but perhaps that may come over time, until then best not look a gift horse in the mouth.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:03 PM
Already past all three lol.Friday, September 28, 2012 @ 11:12 PM
"Current phase of the Offer ends 6/30/13" Sucks if you are born in July or AugustSaturday, September 29, 2012 @ 12:47 AM
While not that great, its not terrible. They'd have to make a cut off on gamerscore somewhere. But if it kept going in increments of every 25,000 gets you 1%, id be at 11% back which is far more appealing then 2%. But hey 32 ms points for every 1600 spent really isn't terrible. Figure on average 1 1600 pt card per month you'd be at 386.Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 01:16 AM
And here I was thinking that this will actually be worth anything. I honestly thought Microsoft would give us a bigger discount and will let us gain more than 15MSP.Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 01:49 AM
I think that at least they are taking a step in the right direction. Hopefully with feedback from gamers (whether positive or negative), they will improve their perks. Personally, I'd love if this deal was available for Silver Xbl members also. You never know, maybe one day they will bump the percentage, or maybe throw a bunch of points, avatar stuff or a free arcade game every once in a while. I think it's cool that there is a incentive to get Gamerscore. Now it earns you a little back. Hopefully it will improve to make everyone happy.Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 03:04 AM
what about those of us at 50,000 or 100,000?Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 03:53 AM
A nice way to reward up to 6 years of loyalty to the 360. If I buy enough games to get 25000g AND pay for XBL gold then I get all of a 2% rebate and a 15p special gift. Not even some 400msp DLC or a shitty avatar item. D for effort M$, shouldn't have bothered.Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 05:43 AM
shouldshould have been 25k-50k 2% 50k - 100k 3% 100k - 250k 4% 250k + 5% then it would feel like a reward, to be able to buy one 400msp dlc (which near enough don't exist any more) atm i need to spend 20,000msp which equates to about £175/$200Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 05:44 AM
Considering we've never got anything for earning cheevos before this, a lot of people here really are ungrateful. It shouldn't matter that the incentive they've given is ridiculously small, at least it's something. You don't see this on PSN or Steam so shut up all of you ungrateful greedy gits and show some appreciation. Oh and those of you who seemingly can't be bothered to read the small print, here you go: Open to legal residents of the 50 United States (including D.C.), United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Spain and Italy, who are 13 years old or older and who are Xbox LIVE Rewards Gold members prior to the start date of the Offer. Current phase of the Offer ends 30/06/13. For complete Terms and Conditions details, visit http://rewards.xbox.com/myachievements/terms-and-conditions/. * Birthday Gift (approximate retail value ("ARV"): GBP 0.15/ $0.25 USD) ** You must have and maintain an eligible Xbox LIVE Gold membership and the applicable Gamerscore for the appropriate tier by the first of every month in order to be eligible. Limit: Up to 30,000 Microsoft Points can be earned per account for the entire Offer Period. Please see Terms and Conditions for details.Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 05:55 AM
HAHA this is excellent! Playstation has a feature, PS Plus and you get over £200 worth of extras over the year you're a member! Then this comes along...I've always thought of Microsoft being greedy...and this doesn't change my opinion! They should learn from Sony that they love their fans and customers! Why doesn't Microsoft?!Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 06:47 AM
GTFrackO Microshaft. 1% and then a whole 2% Wow. >>>Cheapass move. Try 5% and 10% MINIMUM. This shows how little u value yur regular players.Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 06:56 AM
is 15p 15 pounds? or pence? fuck it so hard to understandSaturday, September 29, 2012 @ 09:52 AM
Silly question... If Playstation is really so fantastic and wonderful... Why aren't you people on the Trophies website talking to THOSE people? Why aren't you playing your AWESOME Playstation 3? Maybe it's because the console sucks so massively overall, that you're trying to convince others (as well as yourself) that your purchase was justified? Free games are good.... IF they are games you ACTUALLY want to play. And if you can play them offline and without a specific pass. You know what I'd buy on Playstation 3? I wouldn't buy no silly retail games. I'd buy the overpriced hunk of junk just to play all the classic RPGs I used to play as a kid. Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, etcetera. That's what I'd buy. That's what I'd pay for. Any of the other games? Screw that noise. They aren't worth the discs they are put on. As for this program... Something for nothing is quite nice. Will the rebates add up for me? Sure. Will I use the program to the fullest? Probably not. Ways to improve such a system? Higher reward tiers. Permanent discounts on content for high enough gamerscore would be nice (a permanent 100mp decrease on ALL content would be absolutely wonderful if you had 50-70k gamerscore). Perhaps add some "special offers" for people with over 100k gamerscore so that they can get select games or content for half off each month. Or perhaps improve the ratio of rebates just a bit for over 100k gamerscore. A rebate of 5% would be nice for those select few. Perhaps a rebate of 10% for those over 200k.Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 10:44 AM
It's funny to see people bitching about "Oh it only goes up to 25k, that's not a lot..." and then people going "Oh it is only 2%, that's not a lot..." As easy as it is to get 25k, 2% is fine. So it's a shitty reward. Well, it's a piss easy to get award as well. I barely even play console games and I've exceeded that requirement. Yes I agree it should go past 25k, but for the requirements, that's a perfectly fair amount. Besides, who's to say they wont improve on it. They already improved the amount of GS you can get from arcade games, after all.Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 11:51 AM
Funny how people bitch about getting free shit. I'll take whatever I can get.Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 12:16 PM
funny thing is they feel they need to limit the amount you can possibly get ... small print states you can't earn more than 30 000 microsoft points of the course of the program so our rewards are capped but seeing how small the rebate % is it's highly unlikely we'll get the 30000ms pointsSaturday, September 29, 2012 @ 04:57 PM
@197 blinded by the lightSaturday, September 29, 2012 @ 05:04 PM
@195 Also a consideration would be to those players/gamers who have played for (x) amount of years.Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 05:12 PM
I think microsoft should be more like sony we pay so much for xbox live and don't get nothing at all. At least with sony if u pay to get PS Plus u get free games that is one of the biggest reason I like sony and my ps3 LOL microsoft is all money hungry and don't get nuffin free maybe once in a blue moon...Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 05:25 PM
NO PORTUGAL :(Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 06:02 PM
Why this isnt on official xbox site? D:Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 06:57 PM
LmAO at the idiots that still think PSN+ isn't nothing more than a rental service scam. If you people want to whine about 2% I suggest you guys all sign up for Bing Rewards. In 2 years (using 5 seperate emails and user accounts on my pc) I have received well over 10,000 microsoft points. That's what you guys should be looking at, not another promo of the weak sauce XBL Rewards Program.Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 10:04 PM
@ #204 yes I do that as well. I get so much free stuff. Cant believe they even do it really. But anyways this is pretty lame.Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 10:09 PM
I would say it's better than nothing, but yeah, I hope to see a bit more because even I, which don't play only for achievements, already have +50k. They could do, 50k = 5%, which would still be a bit better (and maybe lock the things at 100k = 10%).Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 10:48 PM
Didn't anyone else notice that it doesn't include buying MS points? Which is what you use to buy almost everything on the Marketplace. So basically we get a 2% rebate for games on demand.Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 11:09 PM
@207 It includes the purchase of things with msp. If you got points back for buying msp, you'd essentially be getting points back twice.Saturday, September 29, 2012 @ 11:56 PM
Sure they activate this the month AFTER MY B-DAY MONTH! Noow I have to wait 11 month just to get something for having over 25000 achievement score :(Sunday, September 30, 2012 @ 02:26 AM
Ha! They laughed at me for obsessing over gamer score, but who's laughing now?! No one, actually. It's not all that funny. Cool, but not funny.Sunday, September 30, 2012 @ 02:49 AM
wow....so much whining over something that is free?Sunday, September 30, 2012 @ 02:51 AM
^look at all the booster noob crybabys lolSunday, September 30, 2012 @ 06:19 AM
weak. they should have something for 100k+ i remember when they had that lil contest thing goin on grow your gamerscore by 1000 in a week or somethin. i got contra for free doin that and something else i cant remember. this is a joke lolSunday, September 30, 2012 @ 07:18 AM
@211 Maybe some of us are whining because it's not free for everyone. I have been on Live for 6 years, and haven't been able to get anything free, because my country is not important. I can't sign up for the rewards scheme, and all the stuff they put on the dashboard, most of it is US/UK only. So maybe some of us are whining because either they should do it for everyone, or not do it at all. It's like being employed in a place where they only pay bonuses to a third of the employes, who all contributed.Sunday, September 30, 2012 @ 07:19 AM
@213 Agreed!Sunday, September 30, 2012 @ 08:46 AM
To be perfectly honest, I think it's nice, true it's not much at all, but Microsoft don't owe us shit, we pay for Gold, we pay for the xbox, they could be stingy, and raise the price of gold for 12 months, but considering that it is slowly decreasing in price, it's getting better. I don't buy much from the marketplace, but for everyone that is saying that it's a huge fuck you. Oh well, get over it, you're getting a slight return on what you paid. Be positive about it. It doesn't affect me in the slightest, but to see everyone saying it's a stupid idea and that they want more, fuck you. For everyone moaning saying that they're going to go to a different console, like 1 person not paying £30 a year for gold is going to make them lose money. Get over yourselves, you're not the world's greatest player, and you're not world known, so fuck it, enjoy this while it lasts.Sunday, September 30, 2012 @ 09:08 AM
Jesus I wish this 2% was retroactive.Sunday, September 30, 2012 @ 09:17 AM
@213, Old Spice did that contest. not MS. @216, Yes, one person not paying for Gold is going to make them lose money. It's just a drop in the bucket though. I'm glad they're doing this and I don't mind if I have an oddball amount of points. Of course since it's through rewards they'll probably only deposit into your account when you hit 100msp increments.Sunday, September 30, 2012 @ 09:50 AM
The offer should of been to recieve 1% or 2% of you're gamer score per month, a nice give back from your shown commitment, that'd of been a better settup rather then this, though it is better then nothing... though you have to spend a rediculous amount of money before you see anything from this. -sigh- knew I shouldn't of gotten my hopes up for this. The birthday gift, I'm betting is a gamer pic or t-shirt with happy birthday or something like on it. I'm not ungrateful about this, but microsoft know how to let you down. On a side note, ps+ is seriously about £15 a month? The hell? They'd need to offer some dam good things for changing that much a month, that's rediculous, hell, i'd rather just go back to playing WoW again for the full year round rather then pay that much. I didn't know a thing about PS+ till the comments in this thread, but my god, they'd need to give allot away for free when charging that much.Sunday, September 30, 2012 @ 10:04 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it says 2% of purchases. Meaning if I buy a 1200MSP game I get 24MSP back? That is basically nothing because you cannot buy any items for those pointsSunday, September 30, 2012 @ 11:51 AM
Just got my xbox.. I dont even have 1000 hahahSunday, September 30, 2012 @ 02:31 PM
Thank you MS for trying to give back. To everyone B#$%hing about it, they did not have to do anything at all.Sunday, September 30, 2012 @ 03:47 PM
I agree with the previous poster(#222)! Microsoft did NOT have to offer this to the community. Sure... it would be nice if there was one tier higher, that gave you 5% back on purchases (like the Xbox Rewards they had for the first few months of 2011)... but 2% isn't nothing, and it's better than a poke in the eye!! The "FREE" 20 points a month from the Xbox Rewards surveys aren't much... but they add up, or they add enough to points you may already have to buy something you want. I'd have to say that the same babies complaining about this offer from MS, are the same ones who complained about BioWare, Mass Effect, and whatever else was causing a rash in their diapers. You kids need to grow up!Sunday, September 30, 2012 @ 07:24 PM
2% is a paltry sum, but it's certainly better than nothing.Sunday, September 30, 2012 @ 09:51 PM
Woah, a 2% rebate! So we get 16msp back when we buy an arcade game for 800, very nice... What does annoy me is the fact that most of the requirements have some sort of movie/music purchase involved, god forbid I get any rewards because I use my Xbox 360 as a games console. Oh well, I get most of my games on PC now.Monday, October 01, 2012 @ 12:02 AM
2% really?Monday, October 01, 2012 @ 12:26 AM
That's pretty cool at least we get something and i'm curious what this gift is for our birthday month?Monday, October 01, 2012 @ 12:45 AM
Should have been 10%. Therefore, you could have bought at least an avatar item with the 1600 msp points card you spend on a arcade game.Monday, October 01, 2012 @ 06:11 AM
I Lol at this pathetic attempt at a discountTuesday, October 02, 2012 @ 09:38 AM
This is my birthday month xbox live rewards under the points pending says 10/1/2012 Birthday Gift 20. So looks like you get the same for your birthday as you do for your monthly survey.Wednesday, October 03, 2012 @ 09:23 PM

I'm not a playstation plus subscriber but just reading this make me want to subscribe. 2%....fantastic....then again we're all a bunch of complainers :P at least it's something.Saturday, October 13, 2012 @ 06:57 AM

Microsoft has launched a new Xbox Live Rewards scheme that offers players discounts according to their Gamerscore.
There are three separate reward tiers. Those with a Gamerscore between 3,000 and 9,999 will be sent a “Special Gift” worth 15p. Those with a Gamerscore between 10,000 and 24,999 receive the gift and are entitled to a 1% rebate on all purchases from Xbox Live Marketplace every month. And last up, those with a Gamerscore in excess of 25,000 will earn a 2% rebate on all purchases every month, as well as the birthday gift.
To be eligible all you have to do is activate the Xbox LIVE Rewards scheme on your Xbox Live Gold account. All Marketplace purchases qualify towards the rebates, with the exception of Microsoft Points and Xbox Live memberships.
So there ya go, Xbox360Achievements actually earns you money (kinda). How many other video game websites do that, eh?
