Forza Horizon’s Season Pass has been outlined and priced, offering a peek at the upcoming open-world racer’s slate of DLC.

According to Playground Games, the Season Pass will contain one large expansion pack, as well as six car packs each featuring six new cars, five exclusive vehicles and a launch day pack.

All of this will set you back a not insignificant 4000 MSP, which Playground says will work out 17% cheaper than buying each chunk of DLC separately. The Season pass will be available when Forza Horizon launches on October 26th in North America and October 29th in Europe.

And if you’re crazy for a bit more Forza Horizon coverage, hit up our latest preview here and a fresh interview with the game’s design director here. We spoil you, don’t we?

  • Fucking ridiculous price!! Nearly the price if the game again.
  • Okay, now this is getting completely fucking ridiculous.
  • Gonna have to pass on that one, other forza dlc goes on sale all the time anyway so you can probably recoup that 17% by waiting anyway.
  • Season passes. What a joke. U pay £40 for a game then 4000 points for this... Tut tut
  • Of*
  • Now that's what I call a special offer! /sarcasm $50.. soon we will have season passes for $500 i guess, the developers try to milk the community. Ridiculous.
  • This is no different price-wise than the Battlefield Premium/Call of Duty ELITE... wasn't an issue for those games
  • that's insane, i wonder if there are people who would pay for it
  • Are they f*cking serious?! 4000 points for racing game DLC?! I hope there will be no additional achievements then i can just pass on this one...
  • Basically preorders on DLC but you don't even know what DLC you are preordering.
  • Stupid marketing here really stupid. As all they have said is a BIG expansion for 4000 pts I want a fucking HUGE one. No way in hell I will be buying this until every last detail about every inch of dlc is dropped. 4000 pts wow o wow
  • If I had to guess at the full price... 17% extra = 4680 1600 = expansion pack 400 = launch pack 400 = 5 exclusive cars (80 each) 2280 = 6 car packs (380 each)
  • 4.000 MSP? They should've made the 2nd disc... Now they took the tracks and cars out to sell it as an "expansion pack". I cancelled my preorder yesterday. Forza is dead to me!
  • If CoD had their stuff at 4000msp all the kids would buy it for sure.
  • I'll pass on this. Still sitting on my Max Payne Season Pass ... Never pay before the work is done.
  • This whole season pass thing is getting ridiculous nowadays, 50 euro`s for dlc?. You can buy new game(s) for less. And since the other Forza games mostly if not only had car packs you bassicly pay 50 euros for a couple of cars. Thanks for the offer you problaly think we can`t refuse, but i will let this one sliptream into the curbstones and crash.
  • It is an expensive promise. A very expensive promise and one that only really appeals, in my opinion, to the bigger Forza fans. If the season pass were much cheaper, for say, the first couple of weeks of release, you might even be able to tempt the lesser fan. Say, if they'd marked the expac as being the typical expac price (1600 like #12 suggests) and then say, 1000 for the car packs for a 2600 total, you could end up having more people buying that season of DLC. You could ramp up the price to this 4000 asking price after the initial period (until the expansion) and then remove the pass and just have the full individual whack thereafter.
  • ITS OPTIONAL..... stop your moaning I won't be getting the car packs as they're useless add-ons like they have been in every forza so far but I'll def check the expansion pack/price when irs released in December
  • No it won't I'm not paying that, so they can stick it up their arse. The annoying thing is that this is probably to access disc content.
  • not for me, i didnt buy it for forza 4 either, season pass for cars, most of which looked crap anyway and wouldnt be used and also had no achievements. and then to top it off, they saved the expansion for just after the pass ran out. definite no chance of me wasting 4000 points on this
  • They should have invested their time in a second disc that smells of rubber when you rub it.
  • I dont see why people are up in arms about this. Its not like the price isn't fair, as they said its 17% cheaper. Now this is probably for the dedicated forza fan, the one who will buy every single car and the expansions. Most people just buy the expansions, where the real value is, but for people who buy it all, this is perfect. It is OPTIONAL to buy. There is nothing wrong with this. Then to people who dont think the DLC will deliver, wait till it comes out and research it, you can always buy the season passes later on. I give props to 12 for the math and showing people what they would pay for any variation of not the season pass. I also give props to 18, you summed me up with less words. I doubt your the hardcore fan that wants every little bit, but you are the casual fan of Forza who wants more game time over shiny things.
  • not for me thx, i don't know if i'm even going to bother with FH, being like burnout paradise doesn't appeal to me that much...and even if i do buy the game, i'll only buy DLC that adds achievements, not car packs and as evil monkey (post #18) said, it's optional, you don't miss out on much by not getting it....don't get me wrong, you'll still see me trolling anything relating to CoD elite, but thats not because of the sub, thats because i hate activision, and anybody who defends them or buys their overpriced crap...adn it's also more fun than playing their games also @21, i would prefer a disc that smells like burning clutch, much more fitting to my driving style :D
  • Just boycott the season pass!
  • I agree with #24 and cancelled my preorder yesterday!
  • I don't mind this... if they were giving the game away for free, but $50 on top of the $60 that's just not on.
  • Greed.
  • MS has been putting everything, season passes included, on sale earlier and with bigger cuts than ever before. I don't see the problem if the default price is a bit high. You will see a 50% off season pass sale at least twice in the first year after everything is released, MS has a massive first party sale every two months it seems. This is just the sucker price, you're all freaking out about nothing.
  • These season passes should be around 50% discount otherwise what is the point as you may as well wait for sale. Granted gold members only but anyone who wants a season pass is likely a fully paid up Xbox live gold member.
  • I'd rather wait for a "Complete Edition" that will be 35% of the total hundred euros or so. Besides, I hate it that they just dropped the number thing *and* "Motorsport" from it (well it's still in the logo). Driving games don't have a plot so nobody thinks that "I'll have to buy the four prequels first to know what happened in these driving games!" Bad dog, Turn 10.
  • Meh, i'll just cherry pick the DLC to what I want. The expansion pask will likley be the only one i'll want, car packs are generally a waste of money like they were through Forza 2-4.
  • I'm dumb enough to buy this as well lol
  • Nah. I won't be wasting my money on the car packs or tracks unless it's packed full with entirely different vehicles and content, but so far, every Forza DLC I have ever bought just felt like a rehash and ended up being a waste of money. So I'm with #31 here. I don't need 29 different versions of a Ferrari. And I usually don't mine DLC, but $50? Seems a bit outrageous.
  • I remember a time when I bought the game I got 100% of it Nowadays it's about 60%
  • Yeah...I'm gonna buy NFS:MW now...
  • Fuck that, I bought the whole entire DLC for Forza 4, including the VIP Pass, and what a waste of money that was! I'll pass.
  • The season pass issue is becoming ridiculous over time. I wouldn't ever pay 4,000msp for even a full digital game, so expansive shit like this that only adds cars and -let's guess- 3 or 4 more tracks sounds like trash for my well closed wallet.
  • Absolute joke!!
  • My intention was to troll this article, but I think it trolls itself well enough.
  • Games like Tiger Woods and Forza, in my mind are now the worst examples of this, i have owned Forza 3 and purchased DLC, why is it not transferable, probably same cars and tracks. I have purchased Tiger woods courses DLC on Tiger10 and since then IF i purchased the game again i would have to buy the same courses........forget that
  • I'll just wait a year or so and get the game plus all DLC for £25. They will almost certainly release a GotY edition (or equivalent) for this game.
  • For all the people who say this pack is a rip off and what not, it is the same price as the forza 4 season pass (2400msp) and the porsche expansion pack (1600msp) put together. so if anybody thought that those 2 packs alone were worth spending the money on then so will this. So guys are you just getting annoyed at the price because it says 4000msp or would you be once again ok with the price if it were two packs but the same price over all since i don't recall forza 4 ever bringing up a fuss about the cost of these packs. For all the people who aren't into paying large costs just for some extra cars i'm sure the expansion pack will be available separately for 1600msp again.
  • haha , greedy fuckers
  • Its because of this bull#$%@ that I am going to stop buying games on release, and just wait until the bundle comes out that contains everything. It is crazy to basically pay for the game again in dlc.
  • lol only 17% cheaper? deal of the week offers 33% on each car pack, and you can choose what packs you want.
  • They want to charge you 79.99 for the collectors edition and then 50.00 for the season pass? This is fuck!n nuts!. I'll pass on this game and continue to play F1
  • This is ruining gaming... I'll explain... They really expect people to pay 50 bucks for every single season pass to each new game in the series... they've already announced they are starting work on Forza 5, so does that mean in a couple of weeks, we'll see another news article... Forza 5 pass for $50. These season passes would be more of a deal to me if the games actually had some lasting power. When they announced the season pass for Battlefield 3, they were already revealing that Battlefield 4 is in the works, and will be a demo with the new Medal of Honor coming out. That makes me want to wait for the 4th personally. And now when Battlefield 4 comes out with it's new shiny season pass with no discount to those who previously bought the 3rd pass, sure enough expect them to start leaking Battlefield 5 info. I have no problem paying $50 for a season pass of DLC for a game I'm going to enjoy... just let me enjoy it, instead of coming out with the new one as quick as possible just to charge me another $110 (game + pass), or offer a discount to those who bought season passes for previous titles in the same series! Just a thought...
  • This is what happens when gamers who spend their parents hard earned money continue to support the outrageous pricing of DLC. Forza 4 has now cost over $200 with all the dlc including the Porsche expansion pack. I won't support this kind of gamerape with one more cent of my money. Complete BS
  • The price of the Horizon Season Pass is too damn high!
  • OMG stop complaining . Your not being forced into it and in the long run it saves you money i will NEVER understand you people who complain about a developer offering you an OPTIONAL season pass to save a little money on the dlc . Its not "ridiculous" its an optional way to get all dlc and save a few bucks . Plus most of you must not understand what goes into making a game and dlc its A LOT of work and very time consuming . Just because you pay for a product does not entitle you to get everything added to the game for free . Some people are so cheap anymore
  • @50 Just because you pay for a product does not entitle you to get everything added to the game for free. So you think its ok for developers to hold content back and charge almost the same price as the game later?
  • I will not pay so much for a pass
  • @51 lol its not holding content back . As i said apparently you don't understand dlc is not made in a matter of minutes or hours . Some of it can take months of work that is not "holding back" at all . And as all games with season passes have tons of content any ways if they later on decide to add extra then yes it is fine for them to charge those who want it since they already have a full product and don't need the extra content . Its just for those who want it
  • so does that mean the GOTY edition will be about 70-100 quid?
  • Yikes...$50? Didn't expect that, I think I will be happy with my $68 Horizon LE with the VIP pass lol.
  • The issue I have with season passes is that you have no idea what the dlc will be. And I dont mean "they said more cars", I mean what cars are they putting in. I got the Forza 4 season pass and was very disapointed as I didnt like any of the cars and never used them. I also got the Saints Row 3 pass and that was a joke. Maybe if they would say these are the cars/modes you will be getting then I would be more inclinded to get it. Too much of a risk in my opinion.
  • Pass.
  • Such practice is an absolute disgrace and Microsoft have successfully talked me out of a sale. Wait until the inevitable super duper all DLC included edition, then wait for the price of that to fall, then buy it used.
  • this not only makes me not want to buy the season pass, it makes me not want to buy the game in the first place. that's how ridiculous this has gotten.
  • I'll get the GOTY Edition when it comes out in 6 months for $35. That's an even BIGGER savings! 90% of driving game DLC is shit anyway. Oooohhh... more cars... big whup.
  • If you buy this "season pass", you are the cancer that is killing videogames. Seriously.
  • Hopefully the expansion will be 400 MSP cheaper for VIPs.
  • @7 Yes it was/is People bitched and moaned about those as well.
  • The problem is that people will still buy this and give them a reason to keep doing it. Protest with your wallets and it will change.
  • So I guess this is the game's downfall.
  • Lol fuck that.. I'll get your game but that season pass can rot in hell...
  • Passed on Forza 4 because of kinect achievement. The dubious Porsche DLC made me weary of future installments. Horizon looked promising until this BS Season Pass. So this season I'll pass yet again.
  • Ludicrous.
  • No, just no.
  • Out of the games I've seen with Season Passes, the only game that did it even remotely well was Gears of War 3. Even then, they still made blunders, such as making Fenix Rising mandatory to play on dedicated servers; it split the community even more, and it makes it virtually impossible to play a ranked match without getting destroyed by stacked teams. Considering how Forza 4's pass was handled, I'm passing on this one if I ever pick up this game. There's no way I'd want every piece of content for this game, anyway.
  • games are a fucking rip nowadays. they sell us this this crap cuz we'll buy anything. boycott this overpriced bullshit!
  • It's like everyone assumes DLC is mandatory... Don't like it, don't buy it. It's not too hard of a concept to grasp.
  • @53 Sure thing but the season pass costs 80+% of the main games price, do you really think it takes about the same effort, to develop the "extra content" than it took to develop a full new game? For me the bad thing about these whole DLC mess is not that they charge at all but the prices they charge. Game costs= Developer wages+manufacturing+retailer margin+marketing+profit margin. DLC price is nearly 100% profit margin. The content offered only takes a fraction of the time to develop, than the main game did, there is way less marketing, no manufacturing and no retailer margins and thats why a lot of gamers call Publishers like EA, MS, Activision, etc. greedy, not because they charge money, but because they charge prices that have a completely different development effort/price ratio than retail games. And on this whole "Its additional content because it got developed after the main game gone gold"-bullshit: A gold date nowadays is just a random date, where the publisher thinks its the strategic best time to release a game throughout the year, it not linked to development progress or anything. Look at GoW3 for example. MS decided it would be best to release it in fall instead of spring. So they developed the DLC and put it on the disc. Everyone got mad about that but if the game would have shipped in spring you would have gotten the exact same content at the exact same price but the DLC would have been developed after the game came out. What I mean is: There is no such thing as "A full game" a game is a full game when developing content finally stops. There is no such thing as a racing game has to have 30cars, everything above is additional content. Devs and Publishers nowadays try to borderline the amount of content a game has to offer to not cause too much outrage, sometimes they fail (TFU2). So they have already have a shelude what will be in the game at the end of development and they just draw a line and say: This will be maingame and that will be DLC. Its like moving the gold date somewhere in the middle of the development process.
  • Seriously. DLC should be free unless its really substantial eg. General Knoxx
  • fuck that shit. they push it and push...even if we all stood and fought for what we feel is right or wrong, it wouldnt change a fuckin thing. we can complain till were blue in the face, send em emails whatever, like they read em. me fuckin arse. av had enough of microsoft full stop, xboxes always break down and if its not the ring of death its the fuckin disc drive, which there is no warranty for that...strange du think they knew? of course these ppl arent loser or owt. we are the bastard losers everytime....fuck it i'll keep playin forza 3 and 4. i mean why did they make forza 4 alot easier? in doibg so they ruined the game online coz of all the kids who dont wanna know anything about racing, they just wanna cause carnage. they will all go to FH and cause rd blocks etc... parties should not be allowed when it comes to racing. the end. fuck off bill. cunt.
  • Ha. Fuck off.
  • what an absolute fucking rip off. maybe I'll play need for speed instead.
  • *comment67* To the guy who did not buy forza 4 because of the kinect achievement (and i know others have done the same) that's just childish. you're willing to sacrifice playing a great game/sim just because you cant get your "1000g"? you might as well find that website were you just download saved games to get achievements, because you're not playing the games for ther main intention...FUN, you're playing for some stupid side addiction you've picked up along the way. we all like achievements. heck i didn't stop untill i got all the gamerscore for the likes of...megaman 9&10, ninja gaiden 2, mirrors edge, f.e.a.r....i could go on.... BUT i would never care about an achievement that was out of my hands, and i certainly wouldn't avoid a game purely because of that reason.
