| I saw the gameplay vid not so long, and I don't understand all the hype. Sure it's a new IP, but from what I saw so far, it does not introduce any new or interestng mechanics. It's just another 3rd person game a la AC & co... |

| I was interested in this game, but this video has turned me away from it. It may just be my gaming interests, but odds are, the entire game will be based on those damn combos, and will make or break your success in the game. |

@4 I think it's pretty awesome actually. But I understand what you mean. The number of possible combos is insanely large (over 500), but the downside is that you can only have 4 active ones at the same time. So if you don't want to bother with changing them up all the time, you are 'stuck' with only a few. If I understood it correctly. But people who don't get it at all can use the 'auto-fill' option that the guy mentioned in the video. I'm going to try out loads of different combos, can't wait. At least it's something different, they could have made yet another cover-based shooter for example. |

| I was hyped for this game, but really lost interest after this. Seems way to complicated to enjoy now. @6 minutes in, it did mention an auto fill for combos if you don't want to mess with it though. |

I didn't have any trouble following the combo system. It's similar to equipping certain pieces of armor or weapons to fit the current situation. As you get more Pressens (better equipment), you modify your character accordingly. The combat itself definitely gave me Arkham Asylum vibes. Of course, that's nothing but a good thing. |

| This game just keeps looking better. I like the idea of actually being able to customize my play style. It breaks up combat a little bit too. I can see it getting tiresome after a while, but hell most games do. In any event, I'm pumped to try this out. |

| Looks simple enough. More concerned about the linear platforming from the other gameplay trailer which looks more Prince Of Persia than Assassins' Creed. I imagine this game will be quick and easy completion for all the cheevo fiends out there. |

| Then why don't (most of) you fuck off and play COD. Only combo you have to do there is shoot someone in the face. Twice. |

| I have to say that this looks really impressive, and as a direct consequence has landed itelf on my must pre-order list. But (and there is always a but!), I am usless at combos, generally resulting in my spamming the X button with the occasional Y thrown in for good measure. As much as I try to learn combos, I rarely remember them in the heat of battle. Probably my biggest problem is understanding the speed (timing!) with which I have to press the appropriate buttons, and that is something that games so rarely teach. So often I will see absolutely huge lists of combos (and seriously, who can possibly learn all of them?), and I will then pick a couple of apparently basic ones that I might actually be able to remember, only to not know the timing of the button presses and so the combos prove pretty ineffective. It has, in the past, spoit my enjoyment of games Bayonetta and Castlevania were far too difficult on the harder diffculties without knowing how to use combos, though I did manage to beat both Darksiders games on the hardest difficulty, I think that is because they are more forgiving. So, here's hoping that the game remembers that not everyone was bought up on Street Fighter et al, and as such understands how to deploy combos! |

This just went from a buy to a rent, as far as new IP's go this one started out with a lot of promise but now its just another combo centric button smasher. I still have high hype for Watch Dogs though! |

| It's definitely an interesting approach. I understand what they're going for and I think it's kind of cool. It looks a tad cumbersome though. I think some of you are complaining far too much about these combos, but I do agree that they could be implemented in a different way that is more intuitive. Still, the fact that you can mix moves with different properties to make combos that heal you, lower cooldowns, and so on is pretty nice. The game doesn't look amazing or anything, but it looks like a decent new IP. I'm sure it'll be fun enough to play. |

Comment #4 by TotalBlank Ur a total idiot, people like you are ruining the gaming industry, its too hard ! I just want 1 button for everything ! I don't want it too long ! I don't want it too short ! Bravo for these guys for not caving into idiocy and making a generic shittastic game for casual gamers who don't want a challenging experience, just want to pick it up and OWN ! what ever happened to "We made the game we wanted for us, if you like it, buy it, if you don't, get something else" Far too much pandering to "simpletons" who, as I just said don't want an in-depth challenge and just want to press a button and make magic happen. Shame on you, Shame, Shame, Shame. |

Comment #25 by Abnormal Nugget you seriously can't remember 6 -7 different buttons ? x, x ,x ,x ,x...watch what the girl on the screen does and think hmm I like that or hmm I don't like that...not very effective then make a conscious decision to not press that string of buttons x x y x y...oh I like that, better remember that one its not hard dude btw I've never played street fighter either, BUT I sure as fuck finished public school - stick to hello kitty and don't forget ur helmet when you get on the short bus |

I'm liking this. It looks cool, and the combo system is intriguing. Definitely something to keep an eye on. @25: From the video, when he opens the menu screen it seems that almost all the attacks are using the Y button with a few Xs mixed in, so it seems like actually doing the combos will be simple, and the game will be more about setting them up in advance. (Also, I never felt that Bayonetta was about the combos as much as getting the evasion right, especially on higher difficulties. Combos were just for show, really.) |
