this is a must buy for me. wish it was coming out sooner. i wish more companies would release older games as a collection. thankfully midway has now joined sega & namco. this will help companies make a good buck cheap. loved these games back in the day. hope it includes all MK titles too. plus primal rage. spyhunter was a blast. i wonder if it comes with the cool cabinet shaped like the car. anyways cant wait. glad to see these collections coming out. it shows its not about graphics. its about good ole fun & solid gameplay with easy controls.

I messed up my post. A delete button would be great. Anyway, this compilation only includes the original local co-op. Which means this is another collection of ports. I'm done supporting these until they put a little more work in them. This has to be the 50th time they've released the same set of games. Each of these should be available for a quarter on XBLA.

Well, this is nice. But I really hope that we get a release of other old BIG arcade titles. Games that had alot of players back in the days, games from Data East, Capcom, Sega, Konami, Namco, Taito, Toaplan and others would all sell ALOT and bring back nice memories. Games like Bad Dudes vs Dragon Ninja, Karnov, Crude Busters, Magical Drop, Midnight Resisstance, Caveman Ninja, Forgotten Worlds, Ghost`n Goblins/Ghosts, Knights of the Round, Saturday Night Slam Masters, Rival Schools, Black Tiger, UN Squadron, Mega Twins, Snow Bros, Aero Fighters, Twin Cobra, Salamander, G-Darius, Chase HQ, Sunset Riders, The Ninja Warriors, Operation Wolf/Thunderbolt, Pang, Pop`n`Pop, Bubble Bobble 2 & 3, Combat School, New Zealand Story, Rastan Saga, Cabal, Thunderblade, Sky Soldiers, E-Swat and Raiden Fighters would all be more than welcome in the online console stores. They are to good to be forgotten and they deserve to be released again to the joy of old gamers and played by the new generations of gamers. I have named just a few games, but the catalogue is HUGE.
(Thanks for the re-release of OutRun, Final Fight, Golden Axe, Altered Beast and all the SNK games. Was great to play Prehistoric Isle and P.O.W again!).

I don't have Rival Schools anymore, but I have Project Justice for my Dreamcast. I would like for them to have the HD treatment and ported over to XBLA. That would be nice!

What difference does it make if these games were released on previous consoles? If you don't have those consoles anymore (or if your "Midway Arcade Treasures" won't play on the 360, because it was NEVER made compatible)... then this is a Godsend!
I only wish that "Rampart" could be played over Xbox LIVE - that game is AWESOME!!! I've been waiting forever to see "Sinistar" on the 360, and I never expected to see "Wizard or War" on the 360 (I still have the ColecoVision version of THAT game)!
Now... if someone will release: Carnival, Mouse Trap & Ladybug - either on a compilation disc with other games, or as XBLA games... I'll be one happy camper!!

@14 & 21 - Well aware that they went out of business. Why? Because they focused more on milking shovelware compilations like these, and the Mortal Kombat franchise, than they focused on the creating and supporting IPs that deserved it.
Midway was at the top of the game in the '90s. But instead of moving forward and adapting, like every other goddamn publisher/developer did, they instead chose to focus on games that were already 10+ years old.
Nothing wrong with arcade classics. I played them all growing up. And I loved most of them. But they had their time. And rereleasing them every couple of years, instead of focusing on new IPs? Midway deserved to go out of business with that business model.
And seriously. This compilation doesn't even include Paperboy. That in itself is criminal. And tells me they're probably already planning a "volume 2" in the near future.
But hey, there's game on this that you couldn't play on the 360 until now. So the suckers out there will buy it. As opposed to just getting one of the dozens of reviously released comps from previous gens for two bucks and dusting off their systems to play it.
Granted, it's a brilliant way to cash in with no effort involved. Because there are suckers out there that'll gladly shell out $30 for it (as opposed to just again, playing an older comp for pennies on the dollar).
But the fact that people can so blindly defend these shit compilations is just laughable. Based solely off of the fact that they've released these same games dozens of times.

I never understood the buzz with rampage... i got it on the midway arcade treasure with MK on it back on original xbox and it was just a never ending game.. no points, just destroying building and all... never understood it.
As for this comp... yeah well i think if they do a comp, they need to update games to play live, then put every old games in the same comp... im tired of them doing comp every year that have different stuff in them. Its like the MK trilogy comp, shitty laggy online(when Ult MK3 was perfectly fine) and im still waiting for MK Trilogy that will probably never be made... instead we get UMK3 that miss some characters.
Personally im not getting this... i haven't play most of these in my young age anyway, so not even the nostalgia factor... When i got Midway arcade treasure i got to say the MKs where the only one i played a lot... and a bit of Primal Rage cause i love fighting game... but thats it.
I wish tough that some NES compilation would come out, games from the like of Sunsoft... yeah i said that...lol
I love that you can unlock old games on new games, like splatterhouse... i think its a nice bonus

All the missing games from the Midway Arcade Treasures trilogy are disappointing. The Mortal Kombat games (Recieved their own compilation) and Hydro Thunder (IP was sold to Microsoft instead of Warner) make sense. But scores of classics that were included on the MAT trilogy are missing here like Timber which I'm quite sure went to Warner.
Been hoping for the past 7 years that we'd recieve an HD Midway compilation. But in my head, I pictured us basically getting everything done for the three MAT releases (Just like how Midway Arcade Treasures included all the non licensed games from the earlier Midway compilations), 8-12 new additions like Hydra and Solar Fox for two classic examples from the 80's that they've yet to include in a compilation, and with all the problems solved (Wizard of Wor running far too fast and with incomplete audio for an example of an issue of an issue with their earlier compilations). Even poorly controlling games like San Francisco Rush and Hard/Race Drivin' are a missed opportunity with the widespread availability and growth of wheel support on both consoles that was still in its infancy on last gen consoles.
Instead it's mostly just a subsection of MAT1 & 2 with scores of missing games, only Super Off-Road from MAT3 (And no mention if the track pack is included that doubled the track count and added the dune buggy), and only a single game new to their compilations (Vindicators Part II, which is basically a rerelease of Vindicators that we've gotten in the past with a bit of massaging, a lot of removed content, and a few new additions).
I'll get it, but it really falls short of my expectations. Will be a great release if it's done well, but it really should've been much more. It will have me hoping that we're going to get Midway Arcade Evolved come next Fall...

Worth adding that most of the games mentioned here weren't even Midway/William's/Atari Games properties or games that they licensed to publish in North American arcades back in the day (Like Moon Patrol from Irem).
Much of what has been requested is available out there in compilation form. The Raiden Fighters series saw an excellent Xbox 360 compilation, much of Capcom's arcade backcatalog was on Capcom collections for the Xbox/PS2/PSP, Data East Arcade Classics on the Wii has many of the requested Data East games (And Express Raider, Bump 'n' Jump, and Lock 'n' Chase are PSP Mini's as well), much of the pre Neo Geo SNK material is available as PSP Mini's and we're getting more almost every month, much of Konami's arcade catalog is available on Game Room for the 360 and elsewhere like XBLA and various compilations, much of Taito's classic arcade content is on the various Taito Legends releases for last gen consoles and the PSP (And even more is available in the four Memories releases from Japan for the PS2), many of Sega's arcade classics have been rereleased in various places including via XBLA and on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for the 360 (although many hits are still absent), etc.
None of this stuff was ever going to be in a Midway compilation...
